A person must be at least 62 to be accepted and must come in at the Independent level. There are several financial packages available. Whatever the rental cost of their apartment in Independent will be the same cost if the resident requires any of the other services as time goes on. In Independent Living, where I am most familiar, meals are provided in two fine restaurants and a cafe, and weekly cleaning is provided if you want it. Many people compare the living culture here with that of a cruise ship - there is access to a pool with a daily aqua aerobic class; yoga classes, balance and other exercise classes are available as well. There are also art classes; assorted classes in various topics by resident college professors; and to top is off there is a theater where professional and amateur performances are readily presented to the community and residents needn't even going outside. There is also a convenience store manned by volunteers and a Weekly Happy hour with music, wine and snacks. There is so much more! In my opinion after living here for eight years, I think it's a fine place to retire!

Very cool on that front. You buy in, and they cover the health care etc. You rent a townhouse or apartment, there are 4 or so different eating options/dining rooms and of course, you can go off site and eat anywhere you like. You can have a car if you want, there is parking assigned by unit, but you can also easily not have a car. You are not eligible to come here until you are 62, but many come much later. Its more or less sold out so you may have a wait if you want to be there now. Ive been here a few times scoping out different size units for a few differernt retired couples. You can decorate as you like, but the apartments are pretty similar overall. You can have a car and for extra get a covered parking spot too. Theres a nice exercise facility there, and a reasonably diverse group, although all over the age of 62.

We are very pleased with the facility and the employees that work there. They are special people and we are blessed. The food is very good and the daily activities and events are what gets us through the day. They have music that puts my mom in a happy place. The campus is very clean and decorated for every season. The campus is beautiful in the spring and summer with outdoor gazebos. They also have onsite doctors and and rehabilitation if needed. We know when we leave them for the day that they are being taken care of. I would recommend Fox Run to my family and friends.

You will not be taken out of room for any activities. You will get pt for an hour or less per day. You will wait up to an hour if you hit nurse button. You may not be given pillows or blankets. Thus happened 3 x, was told no lines available. Some nights yoy will have plastic pillow with no pillowcase. You may walk in and see loved one with tray across room meaning no access to water. You may see nurse call button on floor on a cord across room they can't reach. You will need to get them water and ice because pitcher will be empty. If you ask nurses any questions they will yell at you and I mean arms in the air yelling. If you get discharge papers read them, they will include signing that you will change your address, you will pay 214 a day for day 21-100. Ins stops payment on day 20! When discharged they will keep any narcotics you were prescribed but give you the rest of your meds. You will see at least 5 aides standing at nurses station pretty much all the time. You will find loved one on dirty sheets. Garbage can full. If you bring clothes upon check in they send to laundry and you may not see them again for 48 hrs. They ate short staffed and admit that so some days pt is 20 minutes and no pt on weekend, loved one will lay in bed all weekend getting weak, nurses nor aides will walk them to build strength. Don't worry about a shower because for 19 days you won't get one. Do read those discharge papers because they also ask to sign you ss check over to them. None of these papers were signed so lived one was discharged. If they were signed I believe they would not of discharged and collected 214 per day till 100 days? It's all about keeping the beds filled here and many elderly are there suffering like the one man who yelled for an hour because he had fallen. One breakfast I saw was a small sausage patty and one piece of bread that looked like toast but waa called French toast. Hard meat elderly cook never chew. Egg salad sandwich which was mostly 2 pieces of wheat bread. No boost or ensure just tiny cartons of some inedible strawberry protein drink. Be prepared to bring loved one food every day. Employees there say they won't even eat it!!! I have pictures I won't post here, I'll save that for when I contact every agency I can in addition to the 2 owners of this facility whom should both be fed this crap daily. I will say pt employees and business office all nice people. Head nurse first floor, reception 1st floor and whom ever answers phone there all need to be fired. I won't post names here. I'll save that too. Go anywhere but this place, it was beyond horrifically awful and they don't care about the elderly or upsetting them. If the aide who got rough with my mother is reading this. I'm coming after your job!!! When my mother asked..why are you being so hateful her reply was because I can be if I want, this after flipping her harshly in her bed with a broken tail bone. My mother was scared if this aide was working. You all pushed me to a point of anger that will now not stop me from putting this information everywhere it needs to go. My heart breaks for those that are still there!

There is a bigger one too. They go down to studios. Meals are at pre-set times and I gather the food is pretty good. But I didn't have any on any of my three visits. There is plenty of parking for both residents, although most don't have a car, and guests. There is an easy area in the front to pick up and drop off guests. There are common rooms where residents play cards, do puzzles, watch to etc. there is an exercise room with a trained person giving lessons daily. There is an outside courtyard area. Residents can have guests in for meals and there is the ability and space to host a small gathering too. All in all, I was impressed. This is a nice place for people who don't need skilled nursing, but would benefit from some additional help and meal prep. Ten apartments do have a small fridge and limited cooking ability. But the idea is you get your meals downstairs in the communal dining room.

They have the most caring staff and some have been there 20 years so you know this is their passion. Joyce leads the PSW's by example. She is respectful and professional, compassionate and yet firm. Mom has regained all of the weight that she lost because of a lack of desire to cook and the loneliness of eating alone. The kitchen does a very good job at preparing healthy meals that the residents enjoy. Jean, who does so many of the activities with the residents is creative and hardworking, recently adding a blind silent auction to the regular Bingo, exercise classes and walks to Timmy's. The recent opening of the new senior centre around the corner will compliment the activities offered on site. Mom couldn't be happier and I have great peace of mind. If you are thinking of making this transition, sit in the lobby for a while before or after a tour to get a real feel for it.

A couple months go by and mom was told by the doctor that she can,t live on her own, fortunately a room came available at Cobblestone. Mom has thrived there. She has started eating again (the food is delicious) she has made many friends and she loves the staff, they are fun and so caring., They give mom such great care. Mom loves the activies and we have to work our visits around them, lol They have people come into sing and play music which mom loves.I would highly recommend Cobblestone for independent living.

They don't have railings on the beds so people can fall out of it. They are extremely short staffed and the nurses that actually care are far and few in between. The place smells like urine as soon as you walk into the door, your feet actually stick to the floor. This is the dirtiest establishment I've been in. If I could give it no stars I would have. Some patients have 9 or 10 thin blankets that don't keep them warm so they don't have enough for everyone to go around. If they happen to wash something for you, they lose it on you and you will never see it again, unless your "name is on it" I went out and asked for some blankets for my grandpas roommate and the nurse at the front desk told me to help myself to the cart, rather than coming and helping him. The food they have looks like something that prisoners would eat... maybe?

This facility is under new ownership for perhaps 12-15 months now. As a result this location is undergoing renovations. So if you go for a tour, which I have now done twice, you see the already renovated parts. They look nice enough. Very open. Clean. Nicely spaced. Super new and awesome looking rehab area. They, like most places in the area, have long term residents and rehab ones. This place doesn't have a lot of outside space for nice weather. And I didn't see many plants or other greenery. It's also SUPER EXPENSIVE on a day by day rate. As in "wow - are the beds made of gold" expensive. They do offer rides to patients who need dr appts and the like. That's a nice added benefit. I liked the people I met there. Friendly and open about everything I asked. So that's great. But didn't seem worth it to me. Very sterile, no plants etc, no nice outside space etc. but if Medicaide is paying and the location works for you or your family it's probably ok. But three stars because the price is so high compared to other places I've been checking out. It's probably more of a 2.5 stars (based on price compared to other places around town) but I'm feeling generous.
