This is a newer branch of the Canterbury in the suburbs. It's all in one building and the building…read moreis brand new. The apartments are reasonably large and you can order somewhat to your taste, within their options. There is a nice common space and the communal eating area is nice. The food is ok, but these days in Buffalo our bar is set high. For the money this place costs I would have expected much better food. Much better. Right on Gates Circle, some of the views are lovely.

Important accredited programs are provided: Continuing Care and Person Centered Care. CW is affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Continuing care means you can live at Gates Circle senior living and if you find at some point you need to move on to assisted living, you have priority and can move to Canterbury Woods Williamsville, which offers the full range of services. An up-front fee guarantees residency for life. The living units are spacious. They have state of the art kitchens and fixtures. There is a restaurant on the premises. With the meal plan, you may never have to cook another meal. The top floor features a bar and a superb view of Buffalo. The ground floor has a theatre room, a gracious meeting/sitting room with amenities, a fancy lunch area, and a wonderful restaurant. Dining at the restaurant was very pleasant. While small in size, there is a surprisingly large number of offerings on the menu. Service was efficient. Dishes are cooked to order, which results in a leisurely paced meal. Everything at our table was prepared expertly. There was no problem with special requests to accommodate my friend's dietary restrictions. Like its suburban counterpart, Canterbury Woods Gates Circle is for the wealthy. They know their market and service it well.

This place is a joke. They leave clients in bed constantly, when you ask for help they ignore you…read moreor make you wait for an hour to help. They don't have railings on the beds so people can fall out of it. They are extremely short staffed and the nurses that actually care are far and few in between. The place smells like urine as soon as you walk into the door, your feet actually stick to the floor. This is the dirtiest establishment I've been in. If I could give it no stars I would have. Some patients have 9 or 10 thin blankets that don't keep them warm so they don't have enough for everyone to go around. If they happen to wash something for you, they lose it on you and you will never see it again, unless your "name is on it" I went out and asked for some blankets for my grandpas roommate and the nurse at the front desk told me to help myself to the cart, rather than coming and helping him. The food they have looks like something that prisoners would eat... maybe?

This facility is under new ownership for perhaps 12-15 months now. As a result this location is undergoing renovations. So if you go for a tour, which I have now done twice, you see the already renovated parts. They look nice enough. Very open. Clean. Nicely spaced. Super new and awesome looking rehab area. They, like most places in the area, have long term residents and rehab ones. This place doesn't have a lot of outside space for nice weather. And I didn't see many plants or other greenery. It's also SUPER EXPENSIVE on a day by day rate. As in "wow - are the beds made of gold" expensive. They do offer rides to patients who need dr appts and the like. That's a nice added benefit. I liked the people I met there. Friendly and open about everything I asked. So that's great. But didn't seem worth it to me. Very sterile, no plants etc, no nice outside space etc. but if Medicaide is paying and the location works for you or your family it's probably ok. But three stars because the price is so high compared to other places I've been checking out. It's probably more of a 2.5 stars (based on price compared to other places around town) but I'm feeling generous.
