I went here for a second opinion/consultation last year. Dr. Canby seemed knowledgeable, patient, and nice but I can't say the same about his office staff. They tried to pressure me to schedule my root canal immediately and was very rude when I declined and said I was going to consult with another endodontist that a friend recommended before I made that decision. Kristen, in particular, was very unprofessional when I called as a follow-up to ask why I was billed for a "limited oral examination" instead of the "consultation" I requested when I set up the appointment. She also was incorrect in telling me that I had to call my insurance company and get the billing code from them for the "consultation" and call back to let her know what that code was. This didn't sound correct but, nonetheless, I called my insurance company and they informed me that they never give out billing codes because it's up to the dental office to bill for the service they believe they provided. In my case, I requested a "consultation" but was instead billed for the higher cost of a "limited oral examination" which is barely covered by my insurance company (and probably most insurances). The office was not just discourteous and unknowledgeable, but more notably, dishonest in their dealings by saying they would do the "consultation" when, in reality, Kristen ended up admitting all they ever bill for is the "limited oral examination". I reluctantly paid my bill because they weren't willing to concede that they were wrong and they would've probably turned me into a collections agency. Dr. Canby - hire new office staff if you want a good reputation as an honest and caring business. read more
