The owner let me know that this location has a separate gluten-free fryer -- something she personally added to avoid cross-contamination for items like fries. She mentioned this isn't standard at all Mezza locations, so it's worth checking ahead. She even brought out the ingredient list for the spicy fry coating to confirm it was safe. She said, "Call ahead to make sure she had 'em", which I thought was good advice, especially since Village is at the corner of two roads in the middle of nowhere, New Brunswick. What were we talking about? Lobster rolls, that what! The NB specialty and something to be asking about wherever you go in Canada's only bilingual province. When I visited again in April of 2022 I didn't forget about Village, although I didn't have a chance to phone ahead, I went anyway. "I only serve them on Sundays", was the reply to my question about the cute little sammies, and it wasn't Sunday unfortunately. So I had the next best thing, their signature two pieces of fish and chips. It was delightful! Nicely battered fish was tender and flaky. Perfect! They have a cute little dining area inside the building where you can look out over the intersection with plenty of blue sky to be seen and very little else, quite the relaxing place to eat. There is also a patio at the back and plenty of parking too!
