The seating is arranged so there are really no "bad" seats to see a show. When we arrived, we were seated right away and the staff were very friendly and inviting. We decided to order drinks and food for the show and we went with Chicken Potstickers, Thai Bean Salad, Cabbage Salad, Seasoned Fries and Malay Chicken Satay. All were very good, and flavorful without being too spicy. We especially liked the Greet Bean salad - we'd never tried beans Thai style before ad they were delicious. I will say, for the price, the drinks were a bit small, but outside of that, this was a great evening with good service and food. I will make sure not to wait so long to visit again. It's also cool that there are people who still work in the historic building! They don't open before noon, so plan accordingly. Staff was super friendly and upbeat, and you do need an entry ticket to get to the observation deck bar/restaurant. If you go early on a weekday, you basically get the place to yourself for a little bit, which is super cool. Worth a visit if you're in the area!

What's even more impressive is that at one point, Smith Tower was actually the tallest skyscraper in the West! One thing I love about this place is how well they've preserved its old-school charm, especially the elevators. They still have an operator who manually controls the lift, and there's even a display of the original green Otis elevator motor in the lobby, the same kind that powered the elevators for over a century! The operator told us there's a tenant who lives above the observatory, which blew my mind. The rent was originally a whopping $17,000 a month, but the tenant apparently negotiated down to $14,000 since there's no A/C up there. Talk about living in style with a historic discount! Once you reach the top, there's a bar where you can grab a cocktail and enjoy the view. As you walk around the observatory deck, there are plaques pointing out different Seattle landmarks, so you can easily spot everything from Mt. Rainier to Lumen Field and Lake Washington. It makes the 360 deg view even more interactive and helps you appreciate just how much of the city you can see from up there. Pro tip: They don't open until noon, so if you're planning to go early, you'll end up waiting downstairs. Otherwise, grab a drink, take your time, and soak in one of the best vintage views Seattle has to offer.

Loved how MOPOP described the cultural movement built upon five foundational elements: MC'ing, DJ'ing, Breakdancing, Graffiti and Self: Identity, Community, Political Awareness and the use of Hip Hop to show one's expression. Viewing this took me back in time and brought back so many memories. Also liked the other parts of the museum: the two story guitar art piece, "If VI was IX", interactive Sound Labs for music as well as the indie video games. But what stood out was the Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction: Star Wars to Star Trek to Aliens and Back to the Future. Definitely a must see!

This museum is just OK. Its aesthetic design is pretty nifty and it checks a lot of pop culture…read moreboxes (music, video games, multiple movie genres). On the other hand, it felt like most of the material is either pictures & basic bios of famous people, or physical props. Is it really that stimulating to see a replica of a proton pack, a Dalek, or a Starfleet uniform behind enclosed glass? The section with the highest potential was the music lab, but the interactivity seemed pretty limited. On top of that, I caught a few factual errors, like misspelled names ("Paul Ruebens"), or bloopers in their historical video reels (both 1987 and 1990 contained clips of The Simpsons, which are both wrong -- it debuted in 1989 as a standalone show). Somewhere on the floor there's a poorly conceived gallery of video game controllers, which inexplicably features some generic third-party controllers that don't count, while controllers from many important game consoles are missing entirely. These are all sloppy errors for a museum to make. All in all, I'd say this place offers maybe $15 worth of fun, but not the $35 they currently charge.

This was the absolute number one thing I wanted to see when I was in Seattle. Never been before and…read morewanted to make this a highlight. Especially since I visited on my birthday, little gift to myself was to travel. Quick run down of the specs of this place. Built for the 1962 World's Fair. Sits at 605 ft high making it at one time the tallest building west of the Mississippi. 138 ft wide, weighting 9,550 short tons. Built to withstand 200 mph winds and 9.0 magnitude earthquake. Start by buying your ticket ahead of time. You can pick a time to have your tour, but in all honesty, I think you can show up whenever. The guy manning the gate looked at my ticket, didn't flinch at the time slot, and told me to head inside and join the line. When you go in the line splits into two. One side you go directly to the elevators up, the other line takes you to the picture area where you can set yourself up for planned photo areas. There is information on the walls to take in as the line can be long and take a while to get through. This, by the way, is all after security. As you near the elevators, be sure to have that ticket handy again. This is where they will scan it and direct you to another line to head up to the top. The elevators are double decker elevators that take you 520 ft up in 41 seconds. Pretty fast ride that you are told by the operator and a short amount of time to ask them any questions. While up here, take all the time you ever want. Once at the top, there really is no set time to descend. You can stay up here all day if you wanted. There is even a place to grab a bite to eat and have a libation. Two levels up top, and honestly, take your time here as both levels have a lot to offer. The one that a lot of people gravitate to is the rotating level. You can literally stand in one spot and see the whole city from just about every possible angle. But, do move around. Be sure to even look down, if you don't have a fear of heights. This room gives you an optical illusion type of effect. Even if you are not on the moving portion of the floor, it still feels like you are moving. Then make your way up a level if you need to use the restroom. If not, continue up another level to the non-moving observation deck. You can do this floor two different ways. If heights and observation decks are not your thing, stay inside and take in the views. But if you are alright with the height, head outside and push through the crowds. Unlike the floor below, you will have to personally rotate the circle. Once done with your viewing of Seattle and surrounding areas, time to head back down. You can catch the elevator on either one of the floors up here. Best bet is to wait upstairs on the non-moving part, you won't have as long of a line up there, nor will you have people cutting line because they think they are more important than you. Quick 41 second ride and you are back on solid ground. Be sure to take in the gift shop area. Check out the Lego Space Needle, in fact check it out while you are in line. The details of this is amazing and in the original colors when this opened. Spy Batman on here if you can. Not bad. Review 4,500 in the books. Many more to come.

The…read moreshop is essentially a tasting room, much like Woodinville's tasting rooms run by wineries -- in this case for a wide variety of olive oils and vinegars. While we first discovered these olive oils and vinegars in a similar shop in Victoria BC, they are available in Snohomish and on Bainbridge Island. In addition to olive oil and balsamic vinegar, the shop has all kinds of associated items -- pouring spouts and the like. While we tasted a great many flavors of olive oil, and quite a few balsamic vinegars, we keep going back to the same favorites time after time: * Traditional balsamic vinegar * Tuscan herb infused olive oil There are many other interesting flavors, but these stand the test of time. And while one can use them to make a great oil-and-vinegar dressing on a salad, our favorite way to consume them is with a fresh good-quality baguette, ideally made the same day by a real french bakery (like La Parisienne in Seattle). A little oil in a dish, a little balsamic vinegar poured through it, then a hunk of baguette dipped in the balsamic-tuscan-herb mixture. Yum!! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and it's hard to go wrong with any of the choices. Well worth a drive to get high quality ingredients. We are big fans.

We couldn't just leave without buying anything after that careful selection and recommendations from her as she was super knowledgeable and sweet! I think this time we'll definitely come back with some families visiting. After this visit, we ended up buying the cranberry, pomegranate and peach balsamic for future mocktails and maple balsamic with tuscan olive oil.

Employees are friendly and helpful, check-out lines usually move pretty quickly, most of the time there is ample parking, and the restrooms are clean.
