However, he took the time to help me think through some aspects of our current policy that I could control the cost of and that resulted in a lower premium (for this coming renewal anyway). He may not have a paying customer, but for his honest expertise he has a customer for life when and if our current insurance companies changes our policy options (ie. hail/wind deductible %). Starting day 1, State Farm charged me well above what I was quoted by tacking on fee after fee. Marijane never gave any coherent reasons for these fees; she'd say something, and when I pointed out how that circumstance didn't apply, she'd claim the same fee was now for a different (not applicable) reason. This went on and on for 6 full months with me being charged phantom fees every month. These were for "different reasons" every month, I was not provided a statement or any written way to inspect them, and Marijane never gave any useful explanation. Literally, all I did was sign up and auto-pay with no activity or anything whatsoever, and I got charged over and over for who knows what. When I called to cancel, Marijane was very rude as well. Avoid avoid avoid avoid. An extra 30% per month in fake fees plus an hour of my time per month led to much too expensive insurance and completely unnecessary headache.
