I would like to highly recommend the Fred Astaire Dance Studio for both new dancers and those who are already somewhat experienced. When my wife and I started to take lessons we were both retired and we really knew nothing about ballroom dancing. After a few lessons we began to dance the rumba, waltz and foxtrot. We then learned swing, hustle, cha cha and a few more. We found dancing to be fun! It gave us some exercise and added a new dimension to our lives in retirement. My wife and I decided to sign up for dance classes a month and a half before our wedding after realizing we (me) were not as fluid dancers as we thought. After taking the introductory course at Fred Astaire I knew we made the right decision. Not only did we walk away with an understanding of some of the fundamental dance moves, but we had an absolute blast and laughed the entire session. We signed up for the wedding package and so glad we did. We ended up with an amazing choreographed routine that we both felt suited us perfectly. My fiance and I took lessons during the spring of 2016 to prepare a dance for our summer wedding. We had so much fun learning how to dance and loved, loved, loved everybody at the dance studio that we decided to sign on for more lessons! All of the instructors are so positive and sincerely nice. Sasha and Olga (the owners) are also very attentive to all of the students. They took the time before or after the lessons to give us feedback on our overall progress. My fiance and I started off with the beautiful Thalia and zealous Artem as our instructors. Thalia did an amazing job breaking down the curriculum for us and gave us feedback at the beginning and at the end of every lesson. She gave us background knowledge of the type of dance, articulated the steps, and modeled the dance moves for us while giving us time to practice, internalize, and reflect on the movements. I love how this studio gives us a good balance on introducing new dance moves while allowing the old moves to become muscle memory. Artem has amazing stored energy that is shown through his smile and explosive dance. He has an innate ability to instruct dance through body language and provides feedback in a concise yet effective way. We would alternate every class between the two different coaches to allow different perspective from a male vs. female dancer. We had the opportunity to have the lovely and enthusiastic Adriana as our instructor. She knew how to help us add style to our dancing. Adriana and Artem both helped us develop a routine while I was pregnant (we decided to use that routine for our baby shower!!! Our guests loved the performance. I'm fortunate my husband didn't drop me during the lift). Both instructors were very mindful of my growing belly. They would choose dances that had less impact on my body such as the waltz, rumba, or foxtrot. We danced until 33 weeks of my pregnancy when my dance shoes couldn't handle my swollen feet. We have taken time off to juggle both work and baby and are hopeful to go back to our dance family in the future. They are a caring studio. Even the other students are so supportive and fun to talk to (Shout out to the veterinarian couple and Trisha). I highly enjoyed Friday night dance parties where we had the opportunity to socialize with the other students and practice our dance moves. I highly recommend this studio to anybody looking to learn or progress in their dancing. read more

My goodness, I forgot to leave a review! A few months ago, I was in town for a wedding. I had some time to kill and on a whim, thought I would checkout a dance studio. My wife and I had done ballroom lessons some years ago, so a quick refresher would be fun. I called the studio and they were extremely accommodating on very short notice. When I arrived, the owner, Sasha, spent some time showing me around the facility and explaining their programs. Since I don't live in the area, it was clear I was not a long term customer, but he has a lot of pride in his business and he wanted to give me the full tour anyway. I also got to meet his wife Olga. My lesson/session was with Talia and she was fantastic. She was patient in jogging my cobwebs, yet sweetly firm on corrections where needed (such as, stop looking down all the time!). She definitely maximized the short amount of time we had together. I very much recommend this studio, and if I lived in the area, I would be a regular customer. Dancing is a great way to get exercise, and knowing how to dance well is definitely a great way to boost your self-confidence. read more

I started taking lessons based on a friends recommendation and never looked back. The instructors are experienced champions as are the studio owners. They have a warm atmosphere at the studio where you feel like you are a part of something great. The other students are all supportive of one another. I had the pleasure of having a dance lesson with Artem. As an experienced ballroom dancer, there are certain things that I look for. The number one thing is my partner's frame, which is how he holds his body. This is how he communicates what he wants his partner to do. Artem's frame is fabulous. It was such a pleasure to dance with him and he gave me some great pointers. Artem is new to the US, but he has been dancing ballroom since he was a child. Grab him for a lesson while you can.
