Kennedy Tod back in the day before the town bought it in the 40s), and it's easily one of the best spots in Fairfield County. On a clear morning, you get these stunning views across the Long Island Sound, the Stamford Harbor Ledge Lighthouse, and you can even see the Manhattan skyline peeking out in the distance. The park itself is huge (around 147 acres) with a great 2.5-mile loop that's perfect for morning walks, though you'll always see plenty of runners and cyclists out too. It's got a bit of everything: sandy beaches, beautiful flower gardens, and wooded areas. If you're into photography or bird watching, bring your camera. The wildlife here is incredible because of the tidal marshes and Eagle Pond. We've spotted everything from herons and egrets to ospreys and hawks. A few practical tips if you're planning a visit: * The Setup: Right after you pass the entry booth, you'll see the historic Innis Arden Cottage. There's plenty of parking spread out--across from the cottage, by the sailing school, and an overflow lot at the very tip of the peninsula. * Passes & Timing (Summer vs. Winter): From May 1st to October 31st, you need a pass. It's free for Greenwich residents if your plates are linked to your OnePass, but if you're a non-resident, you have to buy a single-entry pass online beforehand. They do not sell tickets at the gate. Also, no dogs are allowed during the summer season. * The Off-Season: From November 1st to April 30th, entry is free and dogs are allowed. Officially they're supposed to be leashed, but just a heads up that most people let their fur babies run free on the beach during these months. * Pro-Tip: If you walk or ride your bike in, entry is free year-round! Instead, her membership was canceled. While it was later reinstated, the initial response was surprising and, frankly, concerning. I then went to the facility to raise the issue directly with management. I approached the situation calmly, simply trying to point out that unsafe conditions in a parking lot could lead to someone getting hurt. The response I received was repeatedly being told to "get out," with no attempt to acknowledge or address the concern. At that point, it became clear that member safety and basic professionalism were not being handled the way they should be. I am no longer a member. I hope the business takes steps to address the parking lot conditions and improves how it responds to legitimate concerns in the future.
