The Fred Astaire team is more than a dance studio, it's a dance family. Dancing here isn't just fun but helped me become a more confident, happy person. I highly recommend taking lessons here whether you're just beginning or an experienced dancer. read more

I highly recommend Fred Astaire Paradise Valley for anyone wanting to learn how to dance or wanting to improve their skills. All of the instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and make the lessons a lot of fun. They're great with all levels of dancers from beginner, to moderate, to advanced. The atmosphere of the studio is very friendly and not intimidating in any way. All of the staff are wonderful and always greet you warmly as soon as you enter the front door. I began taking private lessons with Igor 6 months ago. I had been taking lessons elsewhere for 2 years prior, but he has already helped me take my dancing to another level in such a short time. Although I went into the studio with the intention of only doing private lessons, I've found the group lessons to be VERY beneficial as well. The practice parties are also a lot of fun. They really give all of the students a chance to get to know each other in a relaxed, social atmosphere. The people in this studio will help you achieve your dance goals, whatever they may be. You'll grow with every lesson and group activity. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time there so far and they have definitely become my second family! read more

My fiance and I tried their introductory special so we could get a couple of quick lessons in before our wedding. We loved the experience! Neither of us knew how to dance and we just wanted to look comfortable and not stiff and awkward on our wedding day. We did the special which was $40 for 4 lessons (which means 2 private lessons and 1 group lesson/practice party). Our instructor was Jasmine and she was fantastic. She was very outgoing, had great mnemonics for learning steps, and kept us talking while we were practicing so that we could learn to be more comfortable. The group practice party was a little different than I thought it would be -- they taught us a couple of different steps and then we rotated with other partners the whole night (there were about 15-20 people there). It would be a great way to meet people, I would think. All in all it seems like a very fun studio and the staff are like family (some of them literally are family). The price to continue lessons after the intro special was too expensive for us (and it seems like they have really involved wedding packages that you could really take your first dance to the next level). Jasmine gave us all the info at our first lesson but I really loved that she didn't push it after that. read more

My husband and I just took our second lesson at this studio. We have both never danced before and were very uncomfortable. They made it easy and affordable with the initial offer of $40 for 4 lessons. Our first experience was alone with an instructor for 25 minutes. She kept us moving and was talking to us the whole time, I almost didn't realize I was dancing :) Our second experience was a group lesson with one other couple and a different instructor. It was a little more intense, as the other couple was at their last group lesson before their wedding and they were working on their first dance. We learned ALOT!!! and quickly, with this other couple, but it was a little overwhelming. Our final lesson will be this Friday. The four lessons for $40 dollars was a little misleading. It includes two private lessons with an instructor and each of us can go to one group lesson. So, really, it is 3 lessons total not four. If I were taking all of the lessons on my own, it would be 4 lessons, but because we are taking them together, two of the lessons are viewed as one pass for each of us to a group lesson. The price to continue lessons is a little steep...5 lessons for $425, with a one time discount of $200 off. So, really, 5 lessons for $225. A little steep for my budget. A friend introduced me to another studio that has group lessons for $10 a person and I may review that place after I attend the first group lesson. read more

My fiancé and I needed to take lessons for the first dance at our wedding and were recommended to this studio. We are so pleased!! We have Brianna working with us. We are just two weeks in to our lessons and already increasing in confidence and comfort level. We have learned basic steps to 3 dances!! This is a very fun and welcoming studio.. we are warmly greeted by every single person upon entering. I have had the opportunity to dance with several of the staff at the parties offered by the studio. A wonderful experience that we will look forward to sharing for a lifetime .. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Fred Astaire with Elvin and Jasmine as our instructors for our wedding dance. They were experienced, fun, met us where we're at, and were patient. We were also thrilled with the owner Jonathan as he went above and beyond and helped us edit our music which was so kind and appreciated. You will not be disappointed choosing this Fred Astaire location or instructors. Thank you to the whole crew at Fred Astaire for helping us enjoy and look/feel good about our first dance as husband and wife. read more

Dancing for me in the past was only when sufficiently filled with gin and tonics or red wine and then only at a wedding. And only because my wife made me. Jasmine at Fred Astaire has changed all that. Her simple to follow instruction and unwavering encouragement has us enjoying proper dancing like never before. My wife and I are motivated by an upcoming wedding. Not any wedding, our only daughter's wedding. While not ready to give Fred and Ginger a run for their money, we are at least, after a few short weeks, able to move about the dance floor doing something more than the two foot slow dance shuffle or some crazed version of a polka. Do yourself a favor learn to dance. It's like one of those life skills we never learned at a young age like golfing or making a Frittata. read more

I love this dance studio and all the staff that work there. Sarah, the owner, is kind, patient, and extremely passionate! I love the studio and the energy there and I would highly recommend them! They are so skilled and amazing at dance instruction! Fabulous dance studio! read more

I never had any ballroom dance experience and only had six weeks to prepare for a fundraiser dance event. I wandered into the studio completely off the street. The staff was warm, wonderful and in no time at all I had a program. The cha-cha, salsa and hustle were my starting dances. What fun and great exercise! I laugh, I learn and I work my mind and body. It is a fabulous stress release from my work and the Paradise Valley instructors are encouraging and help you learn at your pace. There are many social events, so if you don't have a boyfriend or partner you can still dance with lots of other dancers. If you have ever wanted to be more graceful, dreamed of gliding across a dance floor or want to dance with your son at his wedding - you should try it! Sandi P read more

My husband and I were looking for an activity we could enjoy together, the local studio was offering an introductory special so we took advantage. Best Decision Ever! Our instructor, Jasmine is beautiful and talented and works with all our left feet. We have since become regular students of the studio and continue to work with Jasmine. She not only teaches the steps she teaches the attitude needed for a successful dance couple. She's encouraging and patient and a treat to see every week. To be fair, the entire staff is incredibly warm and supportive. I believe we will be perpetual students of dance and look forward to our years with Jasmine and the Fred Astaire Studio! read more

Jasmine has been great! I enjoy lessons and recommend this place. It's a pleasant environment to be in.

I Love Love Love this dance studio! I wanted to take lessons with my fiance for our wedding this November because neither of us could dance. I was so NERVOUS as I do not like being in front of people let alone dance in front of everyone at our wedding. Jasmine is our instructor and she is so awesome, funny and super sweet! She is supportive and understanding and said she would get me out of my comfort zone...and she did! She always makes it fun for us and whenever we walk through the door we get treated like family from everyone at the studio! As soon as we walk in everyone Igor, Bri, Elvin , Sheila to name a few of the amazingly kind, generous and talented people who are there, always greet us with smiles and hugs! With Jasmines help not only have I performed in front of people several times but had fun doing it! We are going to continue dancing and lessons even after the wedding because this experience has been amazing! Its also brought my fiance and I together more because every dance lesson is basically date night now! Even my father got in in it and is doing a fun father daughter dance with me that is super cute! Thank you fred astaire! read more

I would highly recommend Fred Astaire Dance Studios, especially the Paradise Valley location! They offer different levels of instruction from novice to advanced techniques and styles. In addition, they have many different styles of dance that are available to learn. The group classes, workshops and group outings are so much fun! They always greet us whenever my fiancé and I walk into the location and they always make us feel welcome. Every instructor is friendly and always willing to answer questions. We are currently taking private lessons with Jasmine and she is absolutely amazing! We came in with the thought of only learning a simple dance for our wedding dance and we have already learned 4 new dances and have greatly improved our dancing skills and techniques. The facility is always clean and has a great feel and atmosphere. The best part is, they can accommodate just about any type of schedule with their lessons. You can definitely feel the energy when people are in the studio and dancing. read more

Awesome experience!! We came in without any prior dancing knowledge except some basic ideas about spinning each other and Brianna helped us get a full hustle down with 4 solid moves to use at weddings etc. Thanks so much! read more

We started classes with a Groupon and have purchased two packages after. Elvin has been our primary instructor and he is awesome. He is an excellent teacher and makes the lessons very fun. We have worked with Jasmine and she is wonderful to work with. We have also learned from many of the other instructors. We llearned the Rumba, Foxtrot, Country Two Step, Salsa and Hustle in the private lessons, but have also participated in the group classes. My husband signed up with me because I wanted to dance, but he enjoys the classes as much as I do. We will continue to take classes. read more
