Unfortunately, I am unable to share a positive experience in my dealings with the service department. My vehicle has been in their possession for nearly 30 days and there is still no resolution. I do know that some issues, especially, electrical ones can be problematic. However, the most frustrating experience has centered around their communication. The only way to describe their communication is a combination of; lacking, incompetent and/or dishonest. In person interactions have been okay, but the inconvenience of having to drive to the location every time you need an update is just an unreasonable expectation. Call backs are very rare, even when promised to take place before end of the day. read more

First of all don't believe that BS about "free oil changes for life". They call it free if you spend $34.95 for a tire rotation, $29.95 for fuel additives, $49.95 to replace the air filter, and $75.90 to replace cabin air filter! By the way, you can but the engine air filter on line for as little as $7.00 and it so easy to change a child could do it. You must agree to have Fred Anderson do these " factory recommended" maintenance items before you get the "free" oil change. You don't learn this until you sit down to do the final paper work after hours of pressure. The salesman who sold me my car was a nice fella and I liked him, but he is no longer with the company so recounting what he told me is pointless. I bought my Palisade about 9 months ago but have already had to put a new $200.00 battery in this thoroughly inspected car that left me searching for a jump. The battery was 6 years old! In the past when it was just Hyundai of Greer I received excellent service but now that it is Fred Anderson Hyundai, the service is lacking. I truly believe the folks at Hyundai of Greer would not send me home with a 6 year old battery at time of purchase. I'm now not so sure they checked all the fluids, etc. in their inspection of my "pre-owned" Palisade. If you buy from Fred Anderson Hyundai of Greer. I brought my car in on 3/24 for an oil change and inspection and the experience was extremely frustrating. The service department told US there was no history or information on the services provided, no paperwork, and my husband had to locate my vehicle on their lot, which caused unnecessary delays and confusion. What made it worse was how the situation was handled. Instead of taking responsibility, the staff were dismissive and unhelpful when I tried to get answers. I felt like I was being brushed off rather than assisted. This resulted in an inconvenience and the loss of business from loyal customers. As of now, the issue is resolved but the lack of professionalism and accountability is concerning. I would not recommend this service department based on my experience. read more

I am very dissatisfied with this dealership. I would not purchase another car from them nor will I recommend them to anyone. (The one star was for the dealership's very clean bathroom. Otherwise - NO STARS!) I usually don't diss businesses, and never write this long, but you should know all of the details here. EVERY SINGLE bit was bad service and/or misrepresentation. We called ahead to make an appointment to see a vehicle that the dealership had advertised online. I told the woman I spoke with that we would be coming from North Carolina, so at least an hour away. (It was more like three hours for us, but I didn't mention that.) She said that she would let us know if the car sold before the appointment, set for the next day. (It turns out that she wasn't working that day, so I'm not sure what that was about.) We arrived 30 minutes after the appointment was set (although we had responded to the text that we received from the scheduler to let her know that we would be slow in arriving). Despite this, no one at the dealership could find the keys to the vehicle. We could hear everyone searching, asking each other if they knew where the keys were. After about 15 minutes, we gave them our phone number and told them that we were going to have something to eat - please let us know when they found the keys. (Had an excellent lunch at La Santa on Trade Street.) About an hour and half later, we called to see if they had found the keys. No, they had not, so we began to head for home. They called us before we got out of town, so we headed back to the dealership. When we got there, a different employee came to meet us and said "I hear you were working with [let's say "Sam"], but we can't find Sam, so I can help you." Okaaaaay. However since they could not find Sam, who now presumably had the key, we could look at the outside and underneath the car but not in it. After about ten more minutes of waiting Sam did reappear. Things went downhill from there. My theory is that the reason you buy a used car from a dealership is to have some quality control. That was SO NOT THE CASE here. Although the salesperson said that the car had been checked by the mechanic - it had been traded in three days earlier - no one could open the hood until they drove it back to the shop, because the cable was broken! (The mechanic had to reach in from underneath.) When they were finally able to get it open it was evident it had not been opened in a significant amount of time. You could see the hood had not been opened by the previously undisturbed spider webs. This contradicts the salesman saying the vehicle had been inspected by the mechanics. The exhaust tail pipe was held onto the body of the vehicle only by the rubber vibration damper. It was not connected to the muffler. You could spin the last four feet of the exhaust pipe and watch it swing back and forth banging into the undercarriage of the car. Again, the salesman said this vehicle had been inspected. The brake pedal sank all the way to the floor and had to be pumped to get enough pressure to work the brakes. (Someone had driven the vehicle twice in order to bring it out to show us, so they definitely knew this.) The brake fluid reservoir was almost completely empty, and the fluid looked terrible. The check engine light was on. The car was very dirty, both inside and out, and had lots of leaves and other trash in the engine compartment and around all the door seals and front window. The interior was so dirty and grimy your hands came away soiled from anything you touched. The dealership did offer to sell the vehicle to us for 25% less than the advertised price, but there were too many warning signs, not to mention that the car would have been dangerous to drive home. Finally, way down in the fine print of the advertisement, it says that the price does not taxes, license, registration - all fair - but all a $499 "administration" fee, and that the price is only available if you finance the car through them. (We had other plans, if we had bought it.) read more

If i could zero stars i would .What a crappy business . Waited 3 hours for an AC check and had to push her forward with repairs to pick my gf up at 4:30 . She came out with invoice of $5600 . She mentioned the low hose was leaking but insisted everything needs to be replaced . I cranked the car on in front of her let me hear the noise . Nothing! She had stupid look on her face . Thanks Michelle . It's 2 10mm bolts and oem 100 dollars. What kind of business operates like this ??? Then new employee asked everyone around car appraisal. After a hour came back 2500 which I paid 11500 last year what a joke it was new engine replaced by hyundai 2013 class action law suit. This was the worst potential car buying experience I've ever had. Buyer beware-- they are dishonest in the internet pricing! If you go based upon their best price on the Internet and even go through doing their certificate for monthly payment, they still attempt to rip you off. It is when you get to the dealership that you find that they have automatically tacked on $1999 for floor mats and window tint. ( which would run about $400) and another $999 for some clear coat that they have painted your car with. This is nonnegotiable. Thus the $3000 discount I thought I was getting wound up being eaten up by this nonnegotiable crap that is way overpriced and not something I would typically ask for. Their excuses that "Internet prices may not always reflect correct info". They know darn well what they are doing there and I think it is disgusting. Their Internet pricing estimator offered me a full $2400 more than they actually offered me at the dealership in person. I had to argue to bring them up just $2000 to partially meet the price they had originally quoted for my trade using their estimator, In addition, I have been warned to avoid their so-called "family plan" which they say is "complimentary" because they force you into getting all of your overpriced work done at their dealership where they constantly try and upsell women on things they don't need. I promptly walked out of there, knowing that I had been lied to, wasted 2.5 hours of my time with cheesy negotiation, tactics, including making me sign a piece of paper that is not legally binding ....and happily gave my business to another, more honest dealership. One star because I had to. Terrible terrible business practices. Unfortunately the cars they sell are much more modern than their old school way of selling cars. I waited a while before writing this review because I figured that something else would happen. We purchased the car (used Sonata). The next morning the car wouldn't start and I noticed some fluid leaking onto my driveway. It finally started after an hour later. I took it to the dealership and the first thing they said was "Do you have an appointment?" No Hello or how can I help? I explained the problem and they said they would check it out and give me a call. They never called, I had to call them several times before I got someone to help. Turns out that the battery was bad and the vehicle had CRACKED oil pan. This was supposed to be a certified pre-owned vehicle. So after getting this vehicle we had it one night and they had for eleven days. Three weeks later the dome lights quit working. They kept it four days to replace the dome light assembly. On March 19 I took the vehicle back because the safety lights were coming on indicating a malfunction. They replaced the rear speed sensor and hub. So, in the first ninety days of ownership, the dealership had the vehicle more than we did. During the time that they had the vehicle, they never bothered to call and let us know what was going on. I had to repeatedly call them till I could get someone to tell me what was going on because when I left voicemail, no one would call back. Bottom line is that their lack of communication is very poor and apparently they do a poor job of certifying their vehicles. I will not buy another vehicle from them or any other Fred Anderson dealership. I did give them one star for taking care of the deductible. read more

Michele Beheler needs some customer service skills. Upon arriving at the service department I was motioned to pull into the service area. A lady came out and I opened my door. She put her foot on the bottom of my door frame and started asking questions (first of several red flags). I told her what my concerns were (oil consumption, gas in motor oil, unlock button missing on driver side door). I mentioned my warranty and she said your car isn't under warranty...I said yes I have the Carmax maxcare warranty. I asked if she would submit a claim for the outer door lock to see if it was covered and she said that's not covered (she doesn't work for maxcare). I said I'd rather try and get denied than not try and have to pay for it. She was a smart ass and I didn't appreciate it. I paid $110 for a failing fuel pump diagnosis but not having any symptoms. This 2016 Hyundai is notorious for engine problems (Hyundai is in litigation for it now) and the fuel pump was last on the list of possible failures. I'm not happy with is 2016 Hyundai Tucson and I'm not happy with the service I received. I wasn't asked about an oil consumption test it was just disregarded because I have a quote "old vehicle". I put 3-5 quarts of oil in this vehicle between oil changes and that's normal...would appreciate someone reaching out. Thanks. read more

Buyer beware. I have traded for years with Fred Anderson Nissan in Asheville and had very little problems with them. I purchased extend service plans that covered all my maintenance on my vehicle from them and it was honored just like they told me. I purchased the same extended maintenance plan with my new Hyundai that I got at Fred Anderson Hyundai of Greer and I have had problems every time I went in, they would only do the tire rotation and oil change. The JM&A rep which the service plan is through was there one day when I was battling with them and he told them the plan I purchased covered all maintenance. I was assured they would get the issue fixed, then again today same story would not honor my plan. I have requested a refund for that plan we will see what happens needless to say but I will not purchase another vehicle from Fred Anderson Hyundai of Greer in the future. If I could leave a 0 rating I would. Their financial department I feel is very dishonest so be cautious what they ask you to buy. I have the contract that states what I purchased and they still would not honor it. They were like sorry here is how you can cancel it. Very poor management in my view. read more

Do not waste your time. I am extremely upset with today. My Sir spoke to a man on Friday about the orange Honda Element we saw on your website. It looked beautiful, clean with 84k mileage for an amazing price. My Sir called just to confirm it was still available. The man said, "it's available. Come on." We were going to come on Sunday, but came today. I'd set up a test drive appointment for 11, but we got there an hour early. We drove. Two. Hours. We missed work. The lady we spoke to pulled the car up and excused herself to get the keys. We went to the restroom and came back out. She met us at her desk and said that she had taken the Element in, herself, on Sunday and that it was in sorry shape with a check engine light. She then proceeded to try and talk to us about their "other available vehicles," but my Sir firmly said, "No. Unacceptable. Let's not waste anyone's time." We weren't in the dealership for an entire 5 minutes before we left. Both of us were completely appalled at the very apparent bait and switch. Of course, the aforementioned vehicle listing has since been removed. I will never return to this place, and I will only ever recommend this dealership to people I f****** hate. read more

From the moment that I reached out to Hyundai it was a disorganized mess! I called in July about some recall repairs and the woman on the phone gave me an appointment. The day of the appointment I drove an hour from Gaffney to Greer just for a man to tell me they don't have the parts and they would be ordered for another appointment. They said they would call when the parts were ready. I never received a call after about a month I reached back out and they said they had the parts so I made an appointment. I showed up last week on Thursday and was greeted by an employee. She told me she would check to see if they had the parts before the repair started and I let her know that someone checked on the phone and told me the parts were in. She came back and told me they were in, but I was terrified in that moment that yet again you all would have me show up again with no parts to repair the car. She asked if I had a ride and I did. I got a call that my repairs were done before I ever got back to Gaffney. I appreciated the quick service but if someone had communicated that the repairs would happen so quickly I would just stayed in the waiting area and saved me and my family multiple trips. I picked up my car the next day and was told verbally everything is good. Before I even got past the next dealership on the road my car started shaking, sputtering, and billowing white smoke out of the exhaust. Thank God there was no one behind me and I was able to pull right back into the dealership. I pulled in and to everyone's shock my car was still pushing out white smoke. They sent my car back there for someone to figure out what's wrong. I was honestly in shock and so scared they had not only not fixed my car but broken it instead after all of the inconvenience. After several frustrating conversations with folks who gave me info I got to talk to the mechanic, and the new lead mechanic (i think) and was told this was a rare thing and the cars computer just needed to have the inputs reset or something. They apologized, but I felt like all do the reassurance and words meant nothing. I will not ever come back to this dealership for service, a car, or anything if I can help it. I feel that my time was disrespected, the operations in sloppy and it's ridiculous how many mistakes I had to put up with and I truly felt that the staff was not apologetic until my car seemed broken even then it was sparingly. My sons 2013 Hyundai was stolen from Wofford campus Dec 8th. The vehicle was recovered and delivered to Fred Anderson Hyundai on December 20th. Only to have no communication, from anyone and having to leave a message, to have a sales person call to ask about trading in my car, not even to address my concerns. Then the vehicle was not inspected until the 1st week in January, no communication there either had to call several times for that as well. Next my insurance company approved the repairs and released funds on January 8th, no communication from anyone until once again I called several times only to be ignored again and called back two days later to say they had just got the approval for the repairs that day (5 days after the funds had been sent from my insurance company) and one they would hsvd to ordertgr parts. So here we are another 6 days & 4 calls later with 2 with messages left for the supervisors James and Tyler and you guessed it, no return calls. I have called Fred Anderson Hyundai numerous times during this whole process and Devon nor anyone else is ever available to address our concerns, communicate what's going on, provide an estimated timeframe for completion or anything. I have called at least twice a week and never receive return calls. My insurance company has called as well and has received the same treatment. And you would hope that when asking for an supervisor to step in and help shed some light on the situation that Jason or Tyler would call back but neither of them have either. This is beyond ridiculous and truly the worst experience I have ever had!!! ** Here's the latest update, finally got a call back from Tyler on Monday, January 22 who stated he was new and getting acclimated with things there, he verified that the parts were not ordered until January 20th and due to be received Wednesday January 24th & that he had implemented an new policy that when the parts came in that the order are parts are brought to him to verify and schedule the repairs. He also asked if anyone had told me about the possibility of the vehicle needing a starter, of course they had not. He proceeded to say that the repairs would be completed by the end of the week and at that time they would be able to indeed tell me if a starter is needed. Well I waited until 4 o'clock Friday January 26 and decided to call to inquire about my vehicle, just to have to leave another message with no call back. I called and left another message Saturday, January 27, no return call & Monday, January 29th with no return call yet again!! So here we are Tuesday January 30, of course Tyler nor any other managers are available, so I refuse to get off the phone before speaking with someone on the service department just to have Devon come to the phone and tell me that not all of the parts have been received and nothing has been done to my vehicle! What in the world is going on and why can't repairs get done on a timely manner? And why is it so hard to communicate honestly with customers? The truth would be nice and please don't apologize (as done on all of the negative reviews) and not do anything to correct the situation. It obvious that you don't value the feedback and definitely don't do anything to rectify the obvious problem that you have in your service department. We recently bought a used car, best advice is if you want a used Suburau get it from a Suburau dealer. The sales people know all about their Hyndai but for other cars they do not and this can be frustrating to the buyer. This goes for all car dealers not Just this Fred Anderson's. What caused just an ok rating is the service person was offended that I said his attitude was not so nice by not smiling to me as I entered . He took offense but I let it go and he went on to perform the service. Guess what? This is a person of revenge, he kept us waiting for a very long time even though the car was out and ready to go. We asked another service person was our car ready and she said they were waiting on the paperwork. Over 45 minutes later we were escorted to our car by three people and was given one piece of paper(no apology for the wait). He was one of them, I extended my hand and thanked him. Possibly, he was having a bad day, but to keep us waiting because of hurt feelings is nothing to be proud as a service professional for this dealership. read more
