Not only is Freckle's a Juice and Smoothie Bar, but they offer Hot items as well- with a bit of Pescatarian thrown in. Plus a strong tie-in with being plant-based and Vegetarian...definitely, right up my alley. I totally love Freckle's' history starting from the ground up. The setting is modern with these 2 "loungey" sofas, dark wood floors, lots of space, additional seating by a round table and counter/overhead menu- towards back left. Every inch of Freckle's is styled with an Eclectic mix of Contemporary and African Art and lots of inspirational quotes. Looks like Freckle's' port of call is to order a Juice or Smoothie. But their hot foods like the Salmon Burger, Quinoa Burger, and other Vegan ones- are a hit too. Menu as a whole, is a perfect image of the islands and a lot of the Juices and Smoothies, make reference to the West Indies, Bob Marley's songs even Eddie Grant. My Al-Mo Goodness Smoothie with Almond Milk, Agave, Oats (a few other things)- was good. Service from Zayra (?) and Ava(?) was very nice. By the way, the ladies offered me a sample of their homemade Pumpkin soup which was steamy, had a smooth Curry taste and lots of flavor! While the menu doesn't have a ton of options like Wraps, Sandwiches, etc, Freckles is in full swing- regardless. I'd stop here if I lived any closer. Seems like Freckle's is leading the pack among other Juice/ Smoothie and Vegan restaurants in the area. And for a first-timer, I liked it! A hidden gem on Dyre avenue. Easy to miss but trust me you don't want to. Pleasant staff that makes delicious drinks. Staff are also intuitive enough to warn you what a child might not like in a drink (my 9 year old ordered a drink with lime and he warned us of the tartness and let her try it without and with before adding it to the full drink). Was greeted by an employee named DT or maybe it was DK idk it was some variation of alphabets. He suggested that I get the black bean burger so I went with that and topped it with some Jamaican jerk sauce. He told me that this place had the best bean burger in the Bronx (but really...how many places in the Bronx have a bean...you know what...never mind). So I went with that and a smoothie that had banana in it. I can't remember the name but I remember the taste and that's all that matters. Both items were good and honestly, the black bean burger may be the best in the Bronx (although I haven't really tried others there) and the Jamaican jerk was a good touch. Like really good touch. Got to love local business that provides quality and consistency. I always get a yogurt in the morning and the one day they didn't have it one of the workers explained to me what had happened. Although at that time I didn't care for any excuses, in hindsight, I realized that they cared and that's why they gave the explanation. You know what happened next? Great location with excellent customer service. I was thrilled that they are located right down the block from me so that I wouldn't have to drive to Smoothie King at Ridgehill in Yonkers, every time I craved a smoothie (which is quite often). However, I still find myself opting for "far away" Ridgehill instead of "right down the block" Freckle's simply because the smoothies are never consistent. More recently, each time I've tried something that I've gotten on previous visits I end up stomaching half and throwing the other half out. I do hope that Freckle's gets more consistent (I guess it depends on who's making the drinks at the time) because they host great events and it certainly is a sunny spot in the community! I usually stop into Freckles after a long week of food abuse for a quick energy boost and cleanse. My recent trip was awesome; I tried the Black Bean burger and I usually only grab a smoothie or juice. Everything at Freckles is prepared right in front of you, so there's really no question in the quality or freshness. The burger came with cheese and tomato on an wheat pita thin, placed on a bed of fresh greens and a side of house made dressing, which I believe was a sweet plum ginger, amazing. I also got a medium Island Breeze smoothie with a shot of wheatgrass for the road. There are about 20+ prelisted smoothie options , but of course you can also ask for what you want in there whether or not it's on the menu. Pricing and sizing is good as well, I spent about $12-15(can't remember). Needless to say, I was full and extremely satisfied at the end of this meal. Freckles delivers again! read more

Wanted to do a juice detox for some time. I researched a bunch of places. Came upon freckles and realized how it was super fresh and able to be picked up verses shipped, and also black owned which is a added plus. The juices were great I didn't even struggle like I thought I would. The juices are top of the line fresh when I got them and through out the time of the detox. When my order was ready I got a call from a guy but can't recall his name (I feel horrible). He was AMAZING! not only was it a courtesy call to let me know my order was ready but also to let me know about the detox and to personally inform me on why my bottles my look different based on covid and their products' business partners having a lack of labels. This was fine by me since they told me in advance and offered compensation on my next order. This is what I call customer service. I wish I lived closer to have their regular menus items more often! But a shot trip from Nj isn't so bad. We will be trying another cleanse with them soon. read more

I did a Juice Cleanse from here and it was worth it. I did it with my partner and two friends. We did it for three days and kept eachother in check. It definitely helps to have others doing it with you. The juices were intense but really good. Not once did I feel dizzy or light headed - I also felt the quality of the products were great. I needed help ordering them online and the guy on the phone was very kind. I have had juices here before but this cleanse was my first. I would say it is worth it.
