Love this place! Playa is my favorite place to order acai bowls. I love their tropical acai bowl the best! It comes with bananas, granola, coconut, honey and acai. Their food is always fresh and delicious; the tropical bowl is my go to order here. They also have other acai bowls and toppings you can add to your bowl. This location has beachy decor and plenty or indoor seating. I love the relaxed vibes at this location and the art work on the walls and ceiling. It almost makes you feel like you're at the beach. In the warmer months, they also have outdoor seating available. They also have smoothies, drinks, snacks, and more available, too. I can't wait to come back here and try more of their acai bowl options. read more

Super cute store, with nice service. We got the pura vida half acai half pitaya and felt it was generous in toppings with a nice refreshing base. Our bowl came out within five minutes so they were super quick too. read more

Stopped by for an Açaí bowl! Around $17 with a scoop of protein which is pricey. That said, the bowl is huge. I think their mix is premade or pre-blended and while it's not the best açaí bowl I've ever had, I would go back to try the green bowl. read more

I really enjoy eating my fruits and vegetables this way! Fresh fruits are used to create these delicious bowls for the perfect afternoon treat. Mucho mango bowls are created with sweet mangoes as the base; then topped with pineapple, coconut flakes, and I replaced the bananas with blueberries instead. Honey was drizzled on top to enhance the flavors with every bite. This is a small establishment and the ambiance is reminiscent of a restaurant you would find on a boardwalk at your favorite beach. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Been coming here and it's usually pretty decent. Nothing grand. But I came the other night around 8:40 and I even called before go let them know. I didn't want to be that annoying customer that comes in the last half hour because I know these kinds of places like to close earlier than they say. but if I call on the phone and you say ok no problem, then speak to me so rudely when I come, why not just tell me you aren't open anymore? read more

Love how cute this place is! Stopped in with a couple friends and because the owner knew we hadn't had an açai or pitaya bowl, he gave us samples before we ordered so we didn't get the wrong item! My god is it so good!!! Ate too fast and had a brain freeze but wouldn't have it any other way. It's like ice cream but felt so much healthier. read more

We love coming to playa bowls. Staff is always so helpful and they make accommodations and substitutions easy. My daughter came in and for example I don't like kiwi but the mermaid bowl had it, easily was able to sub it out for strawberries. They also have this cool summer menu going on if you are into those kinds of flavors.... Although a bit limited in combination. My only suggestion would be to have a kids size bowl or smaller size bowl option. Many times I want to come here but know I won't always finish it so end up at sobol instead who has a kids size. read more

perfect amazing love this place the inside is really nice and i want to come here everyday this is amazing

I went to Playa Bowls and had a terrible customer service experience. When I tried to place my order, the girl at the counter completely ignored me and looked at her coworker to help me instead. He also didn't want to assist me. Eventually, she came back with a bad attitude. That kind of treatment made me feel very uncomfortable, so I decided to leave without buying anything. I won't be coming back. read more

The way this place is ran is insane, I walked in to PICK up an order. The staff was busy so I was patient and waited , I stood there for 15 minutes there were 7 young girls and 1 older lady NO ONE NO ONE NO ONEEEEEE ADRESSED US! no one said hello, no one asked if we were there for pick up or to place an order they simply ignored us. It wasn't until they called a customers name that I asked if my order was ready and showed my receipt, that's when one girl just looked at my phone and opened up the fridge and handed me my order . She didn't even acknowledge us no word came out of her mouth. Was it because we were the only brown folk who was inside??? I can make an excuse for a young teenager but what about the senior citizen woman who worked there and made eye contact multiple times yet did not address us . This place lacks customer service and are racist . Shame on you!!!!! read more

Pricey, ordered the açaí energy smoothie with added mango. Flavor is typical, and fresh. 11 bucks for a smoothie?!?! The parking is horrible, but I parked down the street in the lot and just walked. Cute little area to sit outside and eat, but not sure if I would make it a priority to return. Staff is friendly and welcoming. read more

Love Playa Bowls. I always get the classic açaí bowls and it's fresh, straight form Sambazon and great. Could be a 5 star establishment if prices were much more reasonable. I only favor the açaí bowls and not the smoothies, as they lack taste. read more

They don't even deserve one star. I'm embarrassed for the owner because the staff is straight-up nasty. They should go to anger management because the way they spoke to me was out of line. Every worker there acts like they got a stick up their you know what. They are miserable with themselves. They hate their job, they hate the people they work with and they hate the customers. They need a serious reality check. I've lived in Bronxville 25 years, and I will GLADLY drive to another town for my açaí bowls. read more

Every bowl I've had so far has been great. No complaints. My fave is the mermaid electric pink bowl!

Absolutely love the bowls here and the service . Vibrant colors and fresh fruits always :)

I wish this place was better because the bowls are honestly pretty good and the location is convenient, but the staff here makes it unbearable. You can tell when you walk in that none of them want to be there, and they act like they dont want you to be there either. Some serious attitude problems toward both the customers and each other. I've been to this location multiple times and Ive felt welcome ONCE back in February, but I haven't seen that employee since then. I dont blame her if she quit because her coworkers seemed to like her less than they liked me me when I came in. I tried coming back thinking I came on a bad day, but nope! Every time I come here the employees are shooting nasty looks, complaining, and are downright rude. Truly disappointing because this place has potential but with horrible service, I will not be coming back anytime soon. They should do a complete rehiring because apparently I am not the only one who has noticed this. Wish I could rate food and service separate because the food would get 4 stars, but the service deserves ZERO. read more

Love the bowls but had a problem with redeeming a coupon. Buy a smoothie and then get one. 8 days later the deal is a bust because it ended a day before. Really? No mention in offer that it expired. Would've made more of a fuss but had to go. read more

I have been to no less than 8 Playa Bowls (2 in Belmar NJ ( including the original location), Asbury Park NJ, Red Bank NJ, Long Beach Island NJ, Pleasantville NY, White Plains NY, and this one in Bronxville NY), and, by far, Bronxville Playa Bowls is the best on every count. Louie, the owner, runs a tight ship and he personally trains each staff member to ensure the highest quality product and customer service. I have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of each of the ingredients, which are always top shelf. Unlike other locations, Bronxville Playa Bowls never skimps on its products. Every bowl I have ever eaten there is always brimming over the top with goodies. If you are ever anywhere near this place, do yourself a big favor and try a Power Bowl, with gogi berries and extra peanut butter...my personal favorite! read more

These are my favorite bowls! I think it's really hard finding a good acai bowl because some of them are either too watery or have no flavor. These are everything and more. I only can review what I ordered - an oatmeal and fruit bowl. I have had really good playa bowls so was looking forward to this as a take-out brunch. First, they give you the oatmeal in the bottom and put the other stuff on top, then sprinkle cinnamon over the whole thing. Nothing is mixed. That surprised me. But, ok - I tried eating it. So, this is the experience: you are eating a layer of cinnamon, a layer of banana and blueberries ($1 extra), then comes the oatmeal. So bad - dry and tasteless! Oatmeal is supposed to be mushy and a little nut-like. Thought I would try to make it better, so brought it home and poured all into a bowl, mixed it with vanilla yogurt and tried it that way. (Most of the playa bowls I tried in the past have yogurt and are mixed, not layered.) The yogurt, fruit and cinnamon worked, but the oatmeal was still dry and tasteless. And this was about $12.00. I gave half to my husband he concurred with what I was experiencing. So we threw it out. They also have shakes so maybe those are good, but for now I won't be going there again, which is too bad because it's 10 minutes from my house. read more

I would love to know what kind of sweeteners is used in the smoothies, specifically the green smoothie. I'm aware there is fruit but it tasted way too sweet for a kale green smoothie. I'm giving 5 stars for their açaí bowls! I'm from Brazil (açaí bowl's birth place) and last time I had an açaí bowl that Good was when I was in Rio! For some reason other places don't get it when it comes to açaí bowls. Jamba Juice almost got it, but not quite like Playa. read more

I come to this Playa Bowls location very often, at least once a week! I love it! The fruit is always fresh and the menu is huge! The staff at this location is super friendly and they make the bowls fast. There is lots of space to sit inside, or they have 2 tables outside. Sometimes it is loud inside so it is nice to sit outside. Also, if you love peanut butter as much as I do you will be happy because they put so much on!! read more

Never disappointed with this location! Great staff and always quick! My favorite healthy bite in the area :)

The greatest juice/smoothie/bowl place in town. From the phenomenal staff to the owner, every time I go it's the same amazing experience. The ladies there are fantastic & marvelous! I'm a big juice fan & my juice always comes out the same every time. But overall everything's great, from their smoothies to the bowls and you can customize them to your liking, which is a huge plus in my book. If you love to have fun & play, well guess what you can't spell Playa without the play in it, so go enjoy a refreshing juice, smoothie or bowl, you won't regret it! read more

So I ordered online and came to pick up my order on 1/2/20. Then I left a message 2xs on their Instagram page....no response. Really??? These 2 bowls were the worst ever. Hardly no granola, less than half a banana, the strawberries were so bitter, nutella was non existent, I was truly disappointed that I spend $27 on 2 bowls. And even more upset that no one responded to my message that day or 3 days later. Angela read more

I LOVE IT!!! This is an amazing breakfast, lunch and dessert place. This Playa Bowl in Bronxville is so cool - nicely decorated with original antique ceiling tiles and the use of a surf board for wall decor. They even have COCONUT bowls along with the typical Açaí bowl that is found in most places in NYC. Also the owner is so nice, when I asked him about opening slightly earlier so that I could catch my train he said just call several minutes before and he will open the doors for me. Too cool ! I am so excited. Lou, the owner, has so much passion for his products and for Bronxville that this new shop has all the raw material to be hugely successful. read more
