Two days into his stay we got a call that his rear leg was swollen and he needed to be taken to the vet. We asked them to proceed since we were out of town and couldn't get him there right away. Less than twelve hours later we had a diagnosis of a spider bite that then turned into a palm size necrosis and ended with a large open wound which required a week stay at the vet and then had to be treated daily for treatments and bandage changes for 6 weeks. $$$$. When I called to inform the owners, Ed and Joan of the diagnosis and treatment to come I was met with the most cold, careless response I could have ever imagined. There was no responsibility taken and they never once asked how they could help. Monetarily or otherwise. I am fully aware this could have happened anywhere, but the customer service at this place is less than ideal.

From the get go, Grace(the owner) was super kind with communication and got my two pups in very last minute for us! Her husband greeted us and helped get them checked in with ease as it was our first time boarding with them. I have a young Great Dane who is full of energy and a bit anxious... that said, he was all kinds of crazy when I dropped him off since it was new territory... however, they allowed me to hang till he was calm and comfortable with a new place. They were so gentle with him and understanding he was a young pup in a new place! Honestly, it didn't take my dog long to warm up because the property itself is truly a dogs dream. There are plenty of pins for them to get outside time to run and play together or individually. I drive over an hour to keep my dogs here and it is very worth it!

Grace and her husband bought the farm in June of 2021, so nothing before that time should be considered. I am adding my review to help provide information about current experiences at Fantana Farms. I have taken my dogs for boarding at Fantana Farms three times since January of 2022. We love Fantana Farms. My two dogs visit often for both long weekends and stays of more than 7 days. We love Fantana Farms so much that we drive from Atlanta to Covington to make sure our dogs have the best care while we are away. I am a cautious pet parent who does not like dog parks or most boarding facilities. I worry about the lack of oversight and dog fights. At Fantana Farms, I can leave my dogs without worry. Grace will monitor all the dogs and choose another dog to play with my dogs during a small and well supervised romp each afternoon. I like that thought is taken when putting dogs together for play and that is is only a very small group. Finally, one other thing I love is that we can pay a small fee to get the dogs washed and cleaned before pickup. This is huge. At the end of a vacation, the last thing I want to do is give my two dogs a bath as soon as we pick them up and bring them home.

I said I have no idea what you are talking about. She says that something was said to the tech. She never introduces herself, and has a horrible disposition. She says that my son said something to the tech while her back was turned. I said he didn't say anything to her. The lady says her tech is in back crying. I asked what the tech claimed my son said. She said the tech said that my son called her a whore under his breath. I said that absolutely did not happen. My son is not in the habit of calling strangers whores. She said well I've known this tech for years, and she would not lie, and walked out of the room. When the doctor came in, I told him I wanted an apology from the lady for calling us liars. He left the room, and 15 minutes later the lady came back in and said she doesn't owe us an apology. I said so you said your technician isn't lying, so we must be lying. She said yes. I said you know, it's possible no one is lying, and your tech misheard my son talking to me. She said it was possible, but she's not apologizing. We have gone to this vet for almost 8 years, and for them to let this horrible manager treat us like this is disgraceful. My son has anxiety is so upset he's having a panic attack. I understand trying to defend your employees from being mistreated, but when she spoke with us, and we told her nothing was said, she should've addressed it differently. She has ZERO customer service skills...she is a liability to the business.

The facility and the staff were absolutely amazing for our two Great Dane boys. They would match the play group with their personality and activity, which they would come home tired and happy from a fun day. They also loved every staff member and were always happy to see them when they arrive! One of our pups had surgery and couldn't stay home after the first couple weeks due to our work, but their "Day and Play" program is exceptional for needing to be away from other dogs until medically cleared. Despite being alone, he had a buddy throughout the day for low-level play time and enrichment to keep him busy. We highly recommend taking your dogs to Central Bark in Atlanta! We honestly wish we could've picked them up and take them with us to our new home destination. Even if your dog can't be with other dogs for some reason, they will not be bored! We miss them dearly!
