This was always one of my favorite spots and I appreciate the variety of establishments available and wanted to include this on my small tour of Toledo. I positioned our stop at the top of the list after a quick tour of downtown and before a visit to the Libbey Glass Outlet and the Toledo Museum of Art. The Oliver House is a historical building with a view of the Maumee River in downtown Toledo. When commissioned by Major William Oliver, renowned architect Isaiah Rogers designed a first class modern hotel and located the building in the section of downtown referred to as the "Middlegrounds". The address is 27 Broadway St., Toledo, Ohio and it is the last remaining hotel standing designed by the architect. Venues: https://mbaybrew.com/ Brew Pub (2nd floor) Rockwell's (1st floor, River side of the building - steakhouse, open for dinner) The Cafe (1st floor) Mutz Sports Bar (1st floor) + Private Events + Museum - Bakery (this was my old favorite lunch spot back in the day) We planned to visit either the Brew Pub or The Cafe for lunch - the menu is very similar, but I had wanted to get a river view for my guest so I leaned toward the Maumee Bay Brewing Company "Brew Pub". Our lunch: combo 1/2 salad with quiche and 1/2 salad with chicken salad sandwich. $11.95 for 2- choice combo. Parking: ample - street parking, parking immediately around the building and a parking lot across the street Service: very good, friendly, efficient, attentive Menu: I will always miss the mussels; but there are still some favorites available on the menu.

Right from the first meeting with Becky, we knew this was the right fit for the wedding reception. Our goal was to have all events for the weekend in Downtown Toledo and The Summit Event Center was perfect! The Hotel was a block away and all other events were close by within walking distance which made it easier for the guests. Becky is so informative and professional, always returning calls or emails within a day. Becky and her staff took so much stress out of the wedding reception planning. The free monthly tasting were so helpful. This gave us a chance to bring various people to the tastings to help choose the right food and see the venue. It also gave us an opportunity to get to know the staff. They exceeded our expectations! We wanted to customize our food and make it a fall theme. Chef Keith was so helpful and willing to figure out the right combinations of foods. The late night snack of chicken chunks and mac and cheese was a huge hit! Hannah, the Bar Manager, made a fall specialty drink with warm apple cider that was also a favorite with the guests. All of the waitstaff were attentive and polite making sure everything was as we had requested. The house DJ was an awesome choice! Having the use of the inventory of event decorations was a big money saver. We loved going thru the items to get ideas. The package pricing made it so much easier to plan the budget for the reception. Becky was so helpful in making changes to the package that fit our needs. Our families and friends had an excellent time from the delicious food and drinks to the fun dance music to the wonderful decorations, we highly recommend having an event at The Summit Event Center! Thanks to Becky, Hannah, Chef Keith and the rest of the staff! We made some awesome memories!

About 45 minutes later we were finally called up to the buffet just to find out that pretty much all the food was gone anyway. And the food that was left was cold and not at all flavorful. Find someplace else for your party. The only good thing was the bar... they pour generously.
