In the Fall of 2015, I placed 8 tires and wheels with sensors into storage with Fraser Ford in Oshawa.
My wife was diagnosed with Clear Cell Ovarian cancer in early February of 2016. In June of 2016 I brought my wife to Detroit for treatment. My wife passed away in July of 2017.
During this period of treatment we were unable to return to Oshawa to have our tires swapped out from winter tires to summer tires.
I spoke with the staff at Fraser Ford informally on several occasions and explained our situation. On August 31st of 2017, I spoke with someone at their Quick Lane after my wife passed. He talked me into leaving the tires there until the Spring of 2018 since winter was approaching.
This past May 2018 when I tried to retrieve our tires, I was told that they had been disposed of.
That is a total of 8 tires and 8 wheels with pressure sensors that Fraser Ford disposed of without ever contacting us. They have my telephone number, mailing address and email address. I never received a single inquiry before their disposal action.
I have checked my phone calls with Telus and there is no record of an attempt to contact me by Fraser Ford and there were certainly no voice mails received from them. This represents a significant amount of money to replace these items.
I spoke to the service manager Kimberly Finn on May 31st, 2018. She said that she would investigate. That was over 2 weeks ago. Since then, I have not received a phone call and I have not been able to get through to Kimberly at Fraser Ford.
I called on 6/12/18 and asked to speak with Carlee Fraser, the General Manager. She was not available, so I was routed to her assistant Lynn Allen. Lynn was not available either, so I left a message for her explaining my situation.
I am not pleased with their failure to rectify this mistake or contact me.
So, in addition to the burden of all the medical bills, Fraser Ford has added to my debt by disposing of 8 tires and wheels without contacting me.
My hope is that someone with authority at Fraser Ford will read this and correct this unfortunate situation.
Their reply on June 21st:
Fraser Ford Sales - Ford Performance Dealer Thank you Bill for bringing this to our attention. You have spoken to our Fixed Ops manager John Bianchi who is investigating your concerns. We apologize for the wait and appreciate your patience
Update: 7/22/2018
Hi John, I've been unable to reach you by phone. Could you please call me and let me know the resolution for the situation regarding my tires?
Note: "I called the 888-259-3673 number at 2:07pm on 7/13/18. The operator said that John wasn't answering his page and put me through to his voice mail. I left a message identifying myself and asked if he had found my tires and wheels or had reached a decision on how to compensate me?" read more
