So much for "the customer is always right". I don't understand what happened to customer service, not with the server, but with the manager. I've been a regular customer, and a local resident, for a long time. I never went to Fran's expecting top-notch food, atmosphere, or even service. Instead, it's always been a good, inexpensive local place where my friends and I would go for a quick beer and a sandwich. Today, my daughter and I wanted to do just that. We shared a hummus platter and had a couple of beers. The bill came to $50.00. Not what I would expect for Frans! Havana's, Karla's, maybe...but not paper plate Frans! I've always forgiven the quirkiness of Fran's. Like the time I asked for water and they wanted to charge me $2.00. Or the time they didn't give me a plate...paper or otherwise. That's ok, it's Fran's. Today, I tried to talk to the manager, to express my unhappiness with the price gauging. His response was, "Then don't come back...see ya." Let's see how they feel in the slow, off-season months when they rely on their locals. If that's how the management feels about their regular, local customers, then all I can say is, "See ya, Fran's". read more

Good food. Outdoor seating and accommodation for large groups are great. My daughter's soccer team and parents were treated great when the staff didn't expect it. Reacted graciously. read more

Great location with a lot of space. Nice mix of outdoor seating which is great for family -- and partying at night indoors. Went with my son and enjoyed a great pizza and salad. OK beer selection - this was a disappointment, I would have expected more choice. Staff was very friendly and very attentive. It is next to the sidewalk, and a lot of bikers on the weekend (if that bothers you). Nice spot for a beer, a pizza with your family, etc. read more

$20 for a cheese quesadilla and a beer? What a waste of money. The food wasn't anything special either. Wish I picked a different place to try. read more

Just a great place all across the board!! Great food from their delicious pizza, hamburgers and salads. Excellent atmosphere and very friendly staff.Awesome customer service. Love that place!! read more

Great spot to grab a drink outside on a nice day, but don't go for anything other than drinks and appetizers. The regular menu items aren't that good. The service can suck here. Last time we went our group sat for around 20 minutes before a waitress said hi and took our drink order. I was watching my phone for the time, so this isn't an exaggeration. read more

Fran's has been a favorite of ours for years. We love having dinner, beverages and just sitting on the patio. Tonight we wanted to start the 2016 season. Well much to our disappointment Fran's introduced a new menu this week. They have changed the menu and removed some favorites and the prices are so much higher!!!!! Our meal consisted of 2 appetizers, 2 beers and a club soda ($3 in a paper cup) and our bill was $38.88. This just seems kind of expensive for what we had and where we had it. I'll miss sitting on there watching the sights but maybe the owners need to revisit their new prices, read more

I predicted this would happen 25 years ago when the original owner passed and passed I t on to his daughter. She immediately changed after and everything was displaying greed. I wouldn't give these people any money. The people with the dog oh no I would have never given them money for food I didn't get. Sounds like they are trying to be like Havana: with the 8$ tap beers and now theme nights. The place is gross. read more

Should have read reviews before going. NO STARS good enough. Overpriced poorly prepared and served wannabe bar food. I,ve had better off of food carts in the city at far less expense. Nachos appetizer was an embarrassment to the Mexican race... pathetic experience never to be experienced again.. read more

HORRIBLE. I would leave no stars if that was an option. The waitress was rude the entire time and messed up two orders (had to have them sent back) then never put an order in and lied to us multiple times about where the order was. Finally received the food once everyone else we were dining with had already gotten and eaten their meals. Besides the service being TERRIBLE it took astronomically long to even get the check. Once given the check we had to ask them to split it into two and asked for the meal we had been given late off the check. After about 20 minutes we asked what was taking so long and seeing the employees looking at us and laughing and talking we asked to talk to the manager. The manager accused us of never ordering the meal and started an argument with us. Was extremely rude and said "he would tip the waitress $50 for dealing with us since we were such pain in the asses" along with other horrible things including telling us to get out and go onto the street in the pouring rain. When asking for the owners information he refused to give it to us because he was the OWNERS SON. Absolute horrible place with absolute horrible employees and manager. I truly do not understand how a place can run with such awful customer service and an entitled terrible manager. Will NEVER be returning. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would, because that is what my heart is telling me. Mid meal I excused myself from the table to purge the "food" I had just eaten. I told myself I would never eat here again, so I'm at fault as well. Please, to whomever it may concern, never eat here. Your taste buds, bowels and your wallet will thank you. read more

Pricey for what it was. Went for lunch, ordered a burger and beer. Burger was decent, mushrooms were definitely from a can and fries looked/tasted like foodservice fries - OK, but not great. Meat was a little dry, but ketchup compensated for it I might try something else from Fran's, but probably not (went here because Havana had a wait). read more

This place fucking sux our waiter took the order on a fucking napkin and I asked for no tomato on my cheeseburger which was overpriced and I still got tomatos the service sucked. One guy like threw my friends salad at him almost. I would never go back there again. read more

Bad Place! The manager, Chris Borden, would not let me return a salad after a bee flew into it. I took a knife, found the bee in my salad, and flung it out onto the bar. I then killed the bee with the knife and covered it with an ashtray. Chris said we are outside in nature and you have to expect that insects may fly into you food. (How sanitary!). Chris also said "I don't care if you eat the salad; I'm still going to charge you for it." (How's that for customer service!). It seems the owner, Karen agrees with Chris although she did offer to refund me the $14.00 for the salad (I'm still waiting for the check!). I'm wondering what would happen if a bird pooped on my food????? You have been warned...for your health eat any place else but Fran's Pub! read more

I had the opportunity to take my girlfriend into New Hope, PA for the first time and I was strongly recommended by my friends and family to visit Fran's as a result of their amazing experience and after dining in and enjoying the best food and service that I've had in a while, I can certainly understand why. I won't hesitate in saying that although I live nearly an hour and a half away, I will definitely return very soon, especially for their delicious cheesesteak wrap! read more

Great place! The servers and bartenders are very attentive to the needs of the customers and they are very friendly! Instead of pushing people in and out of the business they like to get to know you and have a conversation and that shows great customer service! It's a definite go to place to kick back and relax and have a good time! read more

The food is about a 3.5 but the patio - which is open and kept really warm during the winter - boosts it to a five. Cheap (for New Hope, at least) lagers and several TVs for games. Stromboli was a bit undercooked but they also have a pool table & indoor bar if you're in the mood for that. Great place! read more

Ran in this cute place that is much bigger than it looks from the outside, just for a quick snack! Ended up getting the chicken nachos and they were some of the best nachos I've ever had! I love that they give you the salsa, Guac, & sour cream on the side so it doesn't make the rest soggy. Tons of cheese and chicken on top and it came out perfectly hot! The waitress was lovely and wether you wanted to eat out on the patio, inside on the indoor deck are or in the back by the pub it's a nice family spot for just a snack or an entire meal! They had a very large menu that I would definitely love to try more of! read more

If I could give this "restaurant " zero stars I would. This is probably one of the worst meals I have had in quite some time. On the recommendation of the waiter I ordered an entree that literally tasted old and sour. The appetizers were ok, nothing special. We were not their typical clientele so they rushed us through our meal. We were half way though our apps, when the meal arrived. I took a couple of bites and knew if I ate more I might get sick. I decided not to make a big deal and wait, not say anything until our waiter returned. As I patiently waited for our waiter to check on us, I saw that most of the staff was more interested in each other than the patrons! When our waiter did return, he was polite and took my meal away. I probably would not have written this review, but what happened next is bad business practices.....once I returned my meal to the waiter, he then gave it to the manager on duty who brought it back to me to harrass me and tell me how wrong I was. I was asked again what was wrong with my meal and then I was brutally honest. He proceeded to explain to me that I probably wasn't used to the type of sauces they made. He had such a condescending attitude that I could not get out of there fast enough. I am not the "usual" customer that frequents this establishment, but as far as I can tell my money is as green as the the next person. Just because I didn't ride up on a "hog" doesn't mean I don't have tastebuds! It is safe to say I will never be back. read more

If you like a drink that makes you feel like you're 5 years old again bc it's a tiny ass paper cup, flies swarming your food and drinks, a cheap bastard manager who cares more about his money than decent customer service, THIS IS YOUR PLACE but if you want good food, cleanliness, and decent service go else where!!!! First like I said the drinks are a joke and the flies are disgusting! But most importantly I am big on costumer service, I mean I have had some shit food before but the service made up for it but that is NOT the case here. Our waiter was decent but when I received the "garlic wings" only to realize that 1st off they looked like overly deep fried pigeon wings, not one piece of actual garlic on them, and I only got 8 (and keep in my mind tiny ass hell) wings for 10 or 11 bucks!?!? So I was thinking maybe they sent me out the wrong item after flagging the waiter down, he informed me they are indeed garlic wings, just to taste it bc the garlic is in the coating.......last time I checked garlic wings didn't mean just garlic powder thrown in breading but I gave them ago but to almost burn in my mouth off in grease and they tasted like overly seasoned ass, after also begin to itch like crazy from them I decided I couldn't eat them bc a. They were awful and b. I was having some weird little reaction to something on them. After our server tried his very best to ignore us and the fact I wasn't eating them, my boyfriend flagged him down, asked him if we could send them back and take them off the tab bc they were not any good, he rudely stomped off with them, not even bothering to ask if I would like something else and low and behold here comes who I took to either be the manager or owner (a man with an accent in his 40s) who asked what was wrong, when I informed him they were not what I expected bc normally garlic wings actually have garlic on them and they didn't taste all that good and he again rather then offer to allow me to order something else began to lecture me " no place makes garlic wings like you want", " you are now costing me money because YOU didn't ask what they came like" and kept drilling the fact that I cost him money. I was so pissed but unlike this shit factory I have manners so I bit my tounge and just couldn't wait to yelp them. To finish our lovely time there are waiter was obviously pissed at us and rather than realize whether or not I enjoyed the food or even sent it back wouldn't effect his tip bc it' not his fault but he didn't realize fligging the receipt and pen at us and not saying one word after, and having a smug look on his face WOULD indeed affect his tip and I myself wouldve left nothing my boyfriend left him a few bucks. I come from a line of chefs and restaurant owners, I even went to school myself for it and I would never dream of having the balls to lecture a costumer! This place is a joke and a typical place in the midst of a tourist area so they only care about their money and not making people happy. I left and went home to a local place and got some garlic wings. Hope this helps and saves you time and money!!! read more

Horrible experience. First off the food was absolutely atrocious. I sat there with my chicken fingers and asked myself "how a restaurant could screw something as simple as chicken fingers up?!" They were ice cold in the middle. Unfortunately I also made the mistake of having 2 beers with my meal. I went for my third beer and was flagged due to an eye condition that causes my eyes to dry out easily! The bar tender even threatened me when I told him how ridiculous this was. Bottom line if you are looking for good food and a good time please look elsewhere. I have never experienced such a horrible restaurant/bar in my life. This happened about 6 month ago so hopefully fran's is under new management. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews first before coming here. The service was atrocious. Even after having to get the waitress several times she still messed up our orders, didn't bring drinks and didn't even apologize for the shitty service. My friends food came out and mine never did. About 40 minutes later (after everyone I was with had finished their meals and drinks) my food finally came out and it was the wrong order so i had to wait another 20 minutes for my meal. I got a panini and it came out on toasted white bread. DO NOT GO HERE. I give this place a -20 stars. read more

One of the worse restaurants I have ever been to in my life. Ordered a cheeseburger and it tasted horrible I felt like I was in high school cafeteria. We also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich you get more off of the McDonalds's $1.00 menu. Horrible...I am a total foodie but the food was gross. Never ever go back read more

Horrible greasy soaked food. Atmosphere is fun, with pool table for just a $1 a game. Play pool, have a few beers but don't order any food.

The beer was cold, the band was great, and the pizza was good. Very eclectic crowd. Had a great time. Don't expect gourmet but perfect place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon. read more

Pretty good burger but two 12 oz beers in plastic cups cost me $16 plus tax - that's $8 each - and they were 1/4 full of foam. Beware the daily menu has no prices - too expensive for me. Go to Havanas across the street beers are $5 and a bigger selection. Food about the same and the outdoor bar is way nicer. read more

Fran can pinch a penny until it screams. No refills on overpriced fountain sodas, tiny chicken breasts on the sandwiches, no silverware provided until asked, and apparently "panini" means "served on squishy toast". The quality of the food is what I'd expect from a cafeteria or in a hospital. The service in the back room was terrible, even though we were the only ones eating there. Plenty of better options within walking distance in New Hope. Avoid this place. read more

Got food poisoning from the BLT at this place. Server was a little odd--kept hovering at our table and asked more than a half dozen times if we needed anything. So few customers I guess he didn't have anything better to do. read more

I was there yesterday with one of my friends. We come to New Hope every once in a while on a sunny warm day. We ordered fries, spinach and artichoke dip, a steak Caesar salad and a quesadilla. I'm a dressing snob when it comes to salads and not only was the Caesar dressing homemade but the steak was so tender. The spinach and artichoke dip came with toasted pita bread. The fries and quesadilla were great. We ordered drinks as well, the bartender was very attentive, and the drinks were great. This was our second time there, I love the place and will be back. read more

best bar in new hope. staff is great. pizza is great. the owners are always there to welcome patrons. what more could you ask for?

Great place to have a drink! Very nice patio. Friendly and kind bartender inside the bar.

I'm surprised by all the poor reviews. Great place for pizza and a beer. People watching is fantastic as your right in the middle of town. Owner and his kids do a great job and it's always consistent. Food is good, nothing to rave about but the whole package combined is great. I'm usually bitter about slower service but I expect a bit of a delay here because it's always overflowing with customers so I expect it and the people watching makes it fly by so in this case it's ok. If your looking for a easy well priced meal on a sunny summer day this place will generally fit the bill but expect a bit of a wait if it's busy. read more

Not inviting atmosphere inside whatsoever, food is mediocre and pricey. Will not be going back

Our trip to Fran's was absolutely miserable. Let's start with the food, although it doesn't end there. We ordered mozzarella sticks and bacon wrapped shrimp for appetizers. The marinara sauce was watery with a few pieces of tomato mixed in. The bacon wrapped shrimp were deep fried as opposed to being broiled which is the proper way of serving them. One of the kids ate them because he is a bacon fanatic, but they were nasty. The entree's simply got worse. I had the Chicken Ranchero sandwich. The only good was the bread. The chicken tenders in it were obviously deep fried in old oil. The bacon was most likely deep fried as well. The waffle fries that came with it, fried in the same nasty oil tasted liked someone served me a dirty sweat sock. I took two bites of the sandwich and asked that the sandwich be taken away and stated it was "disgusting". One of the kids had the burger. He had about four bites and pushed it away. It was cooked to a hockey puck perfection. He ate half of one french fry because it too tasted disgusting. The comment later was "Dad. My mouth tastes gross". The other kid had the pepperoni pizza. You would expect a certain amount of grease from the pepperoni but this thing was swimming in it. Four napkin blots later it still looked like it would slide off a plate. The wife had the Hawaiian Pizza. You would have thought they would have drained the pineapple juice out of the CANNED pineapple before cooking it. It had a nice pool of pineapple juice all around. The pizza was soggy, and yet again, DISGUSTING. This is where it gets crazy. While I appreciate that they took the Chicken Ranchero off the bill, The owner/dare I call him "chef" came to the table and asked me what was wrong. I told him that the sandwich was not good at all and that I believed the oil was old. He proceeded to take a VERY aggressive tone with me and asked me "Are you a chef?" I answered no. It doesn't take a chef to know that the food was well below satisfactory. He continued to insult me in front of my family instead of apologizing and perhaps offering an alternative dish, which I would have graciously denied anyway. Had my family not been with me, this incident could have gotten very ugly. I simply ended the conversation by saying "Your food sucks" and went back to talking with my family. Hours later, the few bites I did eat continue to repeat on me, as well as everyone else. One thing that won't be repeating is our visit to Fran's Pub. I guess it could be a cool spot to drink a few beers but outside of that, eat at your own risk!!! read more

Long story short.. We won't be back. Due to the lack of service and rude attitude of one of their servers today on the outdoor patio we will not return. We were going to come for dinner but were treated like we were inconveniencing the waiter so we just got an appetizer and left. He couldn't even come back and take our alcohol order we had to order it thru a bus boy. It all just left a bad taste in our mouth and we wont be coming back or recommending this place. We ended up going to another restaurant down the street for dinner. read more

After looking at several menus in town, I settled on this restaurant because the menu seemed down to earth. I love some of the local selection, but wanted to try somewhere new. The menu is well stocked with some of the best comfort food I have seen, considering the location. Most places in this area seem very over-the-top with these small portioned, overpriced meals. I was really satisfied with my meal, which was the chicken fajhita wrap. It came with fries and was extremely fresh and filling. I plan on trying the porkroll sandwich next time I am in town. The presentation was alright, with American food, it always looks pretty bland...but the taste and quality of the meal more than made up for it. The service was very attentive and nice. Their bathrooms were clean, which is a plus for me because if I see a skuzzy bathroom, I instantly judge the meal based off of that. I will most certainly come back soon and look forward to that sandwich! read more

Pretty gross food. Soup was salty, salad tasted fishy, drinks were bad, and steak sandwich tasted horrible. Don't waste your money
