Frannys was great, I really enjoyed it! I love raw oysters, & their slush condiments were refreshing!! I also ordered salmon & Lima beans which I was a bit taken aback but honestly finished my entire plate!

So we waited like a month since it open to let it work out their kinks and I will say everything was fantastic when we checked it out. It's amazing to have a nice seafood restaurant in the Germantown neighborhood and I can see patrons coming in from all over to check it out. Service was prompt and timely in terms of spacing out drinks, apps and entree. I am sure the pictures speak for themselves. I have visited them twice an both times wonderful. Once was for happy hour when it was less hectic and the second time it was at the peak dinner traffic. It could get really loud in the restaurant when it's busy but I would take loud over lingering seafood smell. That's the nice thing about the place .. don't smell like raw seafood. I would highly recommend to give it a try and support local joint.

What a lovely addition to Louisville! Came here with a friend on a Friday evening to enjoy dinner and their happy hour. I ordered the cosmo to drink and it was so delicious!! We got the oysters and mozzarella sticks from the happy hour menu and loved them both. I got the shrimp basket, a bit on the expensive side but it was really good! And you get a nice decent portion. My friend got the fish and chips and she stated they were yummy. The staff was warm and explained everything to us. Very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was very busy but it is lent. Not sure if that is why it was jam packed. I do recommend reservations. All in all will definitely be back and will recommend. Could be for family, date night or dinner with friends.

We stopped by Franny's for happy hour during the holidays! It's an incredibly welcoming atmosphere, with tall ceiling and brightly lit interior. We arrived around 4:15 pm during the weekday, we were immediately greeted and asked if we had reservations, which we did not. Fortunately, we were seated at a nearby two seater. Service was fast and friendly! Server went over happy hour menu and made a few suggestions. They have a great happy hour - $5 martinis and cosmos with a few appetizers including mozzarella sticks and oysters. Drinks and food came out fast - bar was packed and parties continued arriving while we dined there. Mozzarella sticks were fresh and homemade, three came in an order for $7. The owner came around and chatted with us - as the evening progressed, lights dimmed and it became more of an evening vibe. We'll be back!

I'm having a tough time judging this place. The quality of the fish seemed very good and the service was wonderful. However... Fish and chips: the fish was so lightly breaded that it wasn't really crispy at all and when they played it half of it got soggy. The fries it was served with were bad. No seasoning, and not crispy. Fried fish sandwich: almost the same notes. The fish was so lightly breaded that it wasn't crispy at all. The bread was good however. I ordered a glass of bubbly and it was served at room temperature. Bleh. The ambiance was very clean, seaside, east coast. Seemed casual and family friendly I will be going back to try the clam chowder and oyster happy hour.

Franny's Seafood is such a hidden gem in Louisville and the Germantown area! The seafood was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered came out hot and seasoned just right. The portions were generous, and you can tell they really care about quality and customer service. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. Whether you're craving fish, shrimp, crab cakes or comfort-style seafood sides, this place absolutely delivers. Don't sleep on the key lime pie crème brûlée!! We will definitely be coming back again soon!

Fantastic drinks, amazing seafood, and some of the best oysters around. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the bartender made the night memorable with excellent service and creative cocktails. Pomegranate cosmopolitan and Grapefruit Manhattan were amazing. Ambiance was perfect. Comfortable seating, lighting was amazing. It wasn't too loud. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

We visited during lunch and there were plenty of seats available, but we had a reservation. We were immediately seated and water glasses filled. The main dining room area is bright with high ceiling that had controlled acoustics. We were able to quietly converse between the two of us. We skipped appetizers, but I will try the hush puppies next time. I ordered the fish and chips and hubby got the fried shrimp roll. Both came with fries. My cod was a nice size and so light, flaky with a batter that was light and well seasoned. The tarter had a mild dill balance and was perfect without overwhelming the mild fish. My fries were seasoned, a little softer than crispy but good. Hubby's roll was piled high with shrimp, the remoulade was balanced against the pickled onions. His fries were slightly crispier. We will definitely return. The Wait staff were welcoming and service was fast.

The most adorable place! Food was outstanding and affordable. We had the flounder and fried fish platter with the side salad. The salad was so good! Would return just for it. The fish entrees were amazing. Great atmosphere and food!

Second attendance, but now at the bar. Wow. Same experience as the first. Sam, John and the GM Chad were on point and so was the food. I can't express how please we were with the happy hour experience. We live in Fisherville and both dont mind the drive downtown after a long weekend of work to meet up and just unwind with great food, drinks and service. If we lived acrossed the street, this venue would be sick of us. Love D&D

Open kitchen concept. Lots of hard work and tasty meals pumping out.

Lou Lou on Market hits a few marks - those that want to experience it for their menu, either brunch…read moreor dinner and those that want to sit on the patio or in a speakeasy environment for a cocktail. I visited this location to meet up with friends having dinner. They really enjoyed both of their dishes. The chicken carbonara is always a stand out here. They also shared a salmon appetizer however, I heard them both remarked how seasoned and salty it was. The patio is quite large. We had made a reservation, and although we requested to sit there, that didn't happen. A table for two was the only option. So we replaced inside near a window, which was as close to being outside as you could be, but be forewarned. It will be a warmer seating area with the sun coming through the window. The speakeasy downstairs looked enjoyable. I loved the lounging couches and chair chairs when you first went down the steps. It offers a particular vibe without it necessarily being hidden or extremely dark inside. Put this on your list as your destination spot or to grab a cocktail before or after a show downtown. Parking is street parking, which is competitive for all the other venues around the area. Make sure to download your parking app because most of it is metered until a certain hour of the evening.

Have heard about this gem for 20 years but never tried it until last night. Wife and I sat at the…read morebar - love the atmosphere: spacious dive bar with low ceilings and wood paneling. There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

As soon as I moved to the Louisville area and stated asking for restaurant recommendations,…read moreeveryone would rave about Hammerheads. Hammerheads this, duck fat fries that. I was going to a UofL women's basketball game and I FINALLY was able to make it here. I went a little overboard on the food, but everything sounded so good! I really loved the pork belly slider and the duck tacos. Mac and cheese balls always slap. Then there are the famous duck fat fries. The portion is substantial, I was thrilled with that. Flavor wise they did not change my life like I was hoping they would. Still ate them all. The locale is super unassuming from the street, but inside it is really cool, divey, and broody. The staff was super sweet and helped me get in and out efficiently so I could make it to the game. Would absolutely recommend, would absolutely come back, and would absolutely bring friends here.

First time visit here with friends who recommended it for good seafood…read more I selected an order of clam strips with slaw and hush puppies and was quite satisfied. Clams were tender and not chewy. Slaw and hush puppies were seasoned well and fresh. Counter ordering is easy and staff are friendly. Orders are called up and seating is available inside or outside. Carry out service is also available. Tables are squeezed in together a bit tight and make it somewhat difficult to navigate the dining areas. Conversation with table mates almost felt like the entire dining room was involved.

Looked on Yelp for a fish place while in Louisville and stumbled upon " The Fishery"…read more We were fairly close and I liked what reviews I read so we stopped by The Fishery. As we parked we noticed people coming in and going with several looking like carry outs. When we entered there was a big board with the menu items in nice sized print. Obviously being first time we had to digest the options. Meanwhile many carbon and picked up carry outs. The dinging area is small but quite adequate and during nice weather you can sit outside as well! The host/order taker was very helpful; her main choice by popularity was the double filet cod sandwich. She said that's what they sell the most of so we took one of those with side of fries for my wife. I spotted the catfish and asked about that. Another patron heard me and said it was definitely was good just not as big as the cod but still plentiful - so I went for it with cup calm chowder. She said mine came with 2 sides so gave me the fries and discounted my chowder to make it more economical; she looked out for us by adding some value. That also went a long way for us as seniors. We ordered a beer each, limited offering of beer but sufficed. We sat down and waited our number to be called. Meanwhile people kept coming in and picking up to go orders. We did strike up conversations with other patrons about our age and they said stopping here is a routine Friday stop. We were impressed with the through put of customers while we were there. Didn't take long for our number to be called. Picked up the order; everything was fresh and hot, all types of condiments were present. My catfish was very tasty, most like pond raised, but had a very good taste. The filet was a nice portion, it made 2 sandwiches for me plus the chowder filled me up. My wife's cod was 2 nicely portioned filets. 1 filled her up so some take home. Fries were good as well, hot and crispy. Obviously we are real close to this location but when back in Louisville and looking for fish/seafood and other items as well; we while be back. Staff and owner were also nice and checked in with everyone dining in. Definitely try this place.
