To be fair we had a great wedding day, primarily thanks to the bulk of vendors we hired and large amount of family+friends who helped us. Be aware that if you think booking this venue will help you save money, I assure you it might not be the case. Before you book, be aware that... - The venue no longer provides help in the set up of tables and chairs (they did previously) - You must do the set up, tear down and clean-up for your whole event (for full service caterers, they may clean up their portion of the venue use, but otherwise everything else is on you and who you delegate) - Their decor allowances are quite strict (no tape anywhere, no blowing bubbles down the aisle, no fog machines or anything of the like inside and more strict on what you can do outside, etc.) - They made lots of structural changes to their courtyard area, make sure you visit before your wedding as this may change your decor plans (and there are no updates on this type of info) - If you book a Saturday event during wedding season, be warned you will not be able to enter their dressing rooms until after their farmers market has ended--which means you'll need to stay close to the venue or get a hotel/airbnb for you, friends, guests as needed (hair/makeup or showers for folks helping you set up) - During our event, all the mics they made available to us died (once in the middle of the ceremony, once during our thank you speech, once during a toast...) - They also did not set up a projector screen after multiple confirmations with us (only they are allowed to set this up) If I were to do it again, I'd recommend just investing that time and money you'd be spending here on a venue that does more of it all-inclusively. You'll be able to spend more time with family, friends and enjoy yourself more on your wedding day. This is a great venue for smaller parties, keeping decor very simple or larger parties with buffet style dinners.

Beware of Renting Blakely Hall in the Issaquah Highlands…read more On Saturday October 12, 2024, my wife and I rented Blakely Hall in the Issaquah Highlands (operated by the Highlands Council) to host a baby shower for our son and daughter-in-law with about 30 friends and family in attendance. We reserved the hall for 4 hours from 10 AM to 2 PM at an hourly rate of $150, or $600 total for the event. The guests of honor were late arriving at the shower (they had a couple of errands to run), and so we stayed a bit beyond 2 PM to finish cleaning up. A few days later we received an e-mail from the manager of the facility saying that we had stayed an extra 38 minutes. Per their policy, they rounded that up to 1 hour and charged us twice the normal hourly rate for being tardy vacating the facility, or an extra $300. We tried calling them twice to discuss what happened, but they never returned our calls. We then e-mailed them to explain what happened and to see if we could get the overage charge reduced (per their website we could have simply added an extra hour for $150 when we made our reservation). We agreed that an extra $150 was warranted for not leaving by 2 PM but that doubling the charge to $300 seemed punitive and unfair. They replied that doubling the hourly rate as a penalty was their policy and they would not work with us to lower the charge. We never heard from them again. I would caution anyone thinking about using this facility either to look for an alternative venue or at the very least be aware of the onerous way that the facility is managed and plan accordingly. We will certainly never use this facility again or recommend it to anyone.

This is a feat when 50-60 men and women bring their own beers and bar snacks all gather together and leave crumbs and debris on the floor. The cleaning staff here do a great job here. The open space in Blakely Hall is a great spot if you want to host a shower, birthday party, auction, or a charity event. It's spacious and we're able to fit 8 full size poker tables with room to spare. There's also a large kitchen with two french door refrigerators and ovens, so if you're planning on catering a party, you can do that as well. Blakely Hall is located in the Issaquah Highlands near residential area. It's tucked in a place with lots of houses and townhomes. The positive is that there's plenty of street parking and you're in a safe area with plenty of foot traffic. I love coming here once a month to play poker. It absolutely beats playing in a garage or an old hall built in the 1950's with no heat or air conditioning. It's not like I'm playing in a players-only club from the movie Rounders, but I enjoy a nice clean modern venue. If you're looking for a spot to host an event, check out Blakely Hall.

Max 60 people and budget around $20,000 to have a wedding here just FYI, but definitely worth it! Extremely unique venue and hope to come again!

All of the details were thoughtfully chosen and the fields were just so beautiful. As part of getting married there, Tom handles all of the wedding details as the day-of planner, though his role goes so far beyond that. He brings his calm and skill to helping us pick vendors, coordinate details that we would have missed with those vendors, and then ensure the contracts look good. He had a schedule and process for ensuring everything was done by our wedding day, flexible enough to be curated to us. On the week of, he took on a lot of the finishing touches and last-second communication with the vendors so that we did not have to worry about. I would recommend this place if they let up a little - it seems like they care more about making…read moremoney than trying to help you plan / manage your event. Lots of money go into this place and you're still not guaranteed your money back (alcohol consumption -$450) you can pay for them to set up but literally it's just them setting up tables and chairs (does it really make a difference? ) and you pay them by the hour to do nothing but watch you. You can't have any inflatable , ball pits no matter the size ( party baby fit for 1-5 year olds wouldn't work here !!! ) inside or out unless you get an order from king county and that's if they allow it on their property while also getting insurance for it and the alcohol and whatever other license or insurance they need. All these things are reasonable things to be worried about at your space but for you to be a great business and not help your costumers create the event they want is pretty diabolical. You want all this money but really all you can have inside is food drinks and a photo area. For some that's all they need but for $1200+ .... Absolutely NOT. I would find better , cheaper and same quality

I am so delighted to be the first to review Arborea Falls here on yelp…read more My husband Leo and I appreciate the celebration of diversity and the focus on community that the owners of Arborea Falls value. I e-mailed with Kelly to set up our holiday photo shoot here, and she was super sweet and a pleasure to communicate with. We're still pretty new to the East Side, so we were looking for a small outdoor venue with lovely scenery. This venue fit our needs perfectly. We got super lucky on the day that our photo shoot was scheduled. The grounds looked gorgeous with a thick blanket of pristine snow covering everything, but the waterfalls were still running! The lighting and the natural backdrops were so perfect that we did absolutely zero photo post-processing, color corrections, line corrections, or any other type of photoshopping or editing - we simply posted the photos exactly as they had been taken. My husband, who is an amateur photographer by avocation and a physician by vocation, commented repeatedly how much he appreciated the natural lighting that the snow illuminated the photos with. He had brought photography umbrellas and other lighting equipment with us, but he didn't have to use any of it! I formerly worked as a Stylist Assistant for photo shoots for major magazines, including Seattle Met. So it's always enjoyable to put my professional experience to work on something fun like this. The vibe of the photo shoot was fun and laid back. We really enjoyed traipsing around the grounds in our all-white outfits. The owner, Kelly, came by to say Hi, and it was really nice to meet her. We would've wanted to talk longer but we had reserved the grounds for 2 hours and the 2 hours flew by, especially including setting up our tripod in 6 different locations on the grounds. Kelly said we could use the area behind the house, but we didn't have time to do that either. The suggested donation for our 2-hour photo shoot was $200, which we thought was very fair. We chose to donate $200. I think I remember reading on this venue's website that the grounds rent for 10 times that (or more) for larger events, so we thought this was quite a reasonable price to pay in order to have the grounds all to ourselves for this time period. This may become a yearly tradition! The only change I might make next time is to rent the space for 3 hours instead of 2 hours. Even without setting up our lighting equipment (which was happily not necessary since the snow naturally provided the desired lighting effects), we didn't have enough time to take photos with our fake snowball accessories or our white battery-operated candle accessories. However, we are both very happy with our experience here, and we enjoyed doing our December 2022 Holiday Photo Shoot on the grounds here.
