Larry spent an hour and a half going over every detail of what I wanted done and he offered advice on what plumbing products to use and gave me some design ideas as well. The estimate for the work was well below what I thought it would be and with having extra in my budget allowed me to add a few more small projects to the project. The crew are very hardworking people who care about their clients, and they have answered my questions about what they are doing and why. They did both floors wrong, ignoring the spacing we had asked for and choosing the grout colors themselves. Additionally, the tile in the one room was laid wrong and the pattern isn't what we ordered. The owner lied and claimed that the supplier said that the tile couldn't be laid as close as I wanted, but we talked to the supplier, and they had no issue with it. I don't think he thought we would check. The grout colors were fixed, but there is no way to fix the layout pattern without tearing up the tile and replacing it. They didn't. It wasn't a big job (the bathroom is small at just under 6'x6'), and I could tell he was trying to dissuade me from hiring Greystone. But I felt comfortable with both the price range and time frame, so he left to write up a proposal saying it would be two weeks before he sent it. After three weeks I emailed asking the status of the proposal. That's when he sent me the proposal with a price of over $17,000. Obviously he didn't want the job (too small), but instead of telling me he wouldn't do it, he decided to over-inflate all aspects of the job to get me to turn him down. Well, I didn't respond to his offense (which has been three months now), and Rob hasn't bothered to reach out to see if I wanted to sign the proposal. Obviously blew me off in an underhanded way; totally unprofessional.
