We were seated at banquette table #42, which gave us a fantastic view of the open kitchen. I always enjoy watching the action behind the scenes, and it added so much to the overall dining experience. Between the gorgeous interior design, lively atmosphere, and perfectly executed mood lighting, the restaurant feels sophisticated, warm, and inviting all at the same time. One thing worth mentioning is their pizza bar seating. If you're making a reservation, you can request seats at the pizza bar for a front-row view of the pizza-making process. Seating is very limited, so I would recommend requesting it early if that's something you're interested in. To start, we ordered the Sfincione, Chef Evan Funke's signature focaccia. The aroma alone had me excited before I even took my first bite. The smell of freshly baked bread drifting from the table was absolutely irresistible. We also ordered the Calamari Fritti and the Polpette di Coda. The calamari was delicious, but the real surprise was the short rib meatballs. The texture was unlike any meatball I've had before, crispy on the outside while remaining tender and flavorful inside. For pasta, we shared the Rigatoni all'Amatriciana, and all I can say is... chef's kiss. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was light, balanced, and packed with flavor. It's the kind of dish that makes you slow down and savor every bite. We also ordered the Costata di Maiale, an 18-ounce pork chop that was cooked beautifully.
