Would not recommend them with high carat gold. Wanted to turn my 24k gold into other jewelry and…read morethey did a scratch test to test the gold. They stated it was 22k. As a jeweler, they should know scratch tests are not meant for higher carat gold but a xrf or pmi gun. Took it to a pawn shop for testing and even the jewel recycle and they both confirmed it was 24k. Them being jewelers, they should know this and not try to scam customers. Their work is amazing from what I have seen but I can not trust them. Beware.

From the moment I met one of the owners, this gem of a store got my attention. Before setting foot into the shop, I was impressed by their proactive, organic social media campaigns. The visit to Jewel Smith of Durham blew our minds. The attention to in-store customer service was most refreshing and sadly unique. They know how to make the jewelry purchase experience fun and memorable. Each piece is created by talented architects with impressive tools and timeless machinery. There are exquisite pieces that are one of a kind with gems carefully purchased from every part of our planet. I realized after my first visit to the local mall here how I'd never again attempt a purchase at a chain jeweler. It's not too late for Christmas with their fully staffed extended Holiday hours and a dedicated parking lot. And then there's always Valentines Day.

From the time I entered until the…read moremoment I left, I felt as though I were in a high-end store in the middle of a big city, rather than in a small town. Everything is beautifully arranged, from the furniture, to the paintings, the jewelry and sundry home decor and collectibles. The quality of everything, particularly the antique watches and mirrors was unusual. It seems as though the owners are particular about the items they select for display. The store has a bright and open feel, probably owing to the large windows and the loft that in itself made you feel like you could curl up on the furniture, pick up a book and relax with a cup of tea. Although I didn't find anything I had to have, I was certainly tempted. Perhaps I'll give in to temptation on what will certainly be my next visit.

Some of it looks classic and vintage while some of it looks upcycled and handmade. I saw a lot of fine jewelry - diamonds and pearls and rubies oh my! - and I fell in love with a couple of pieces of large furniture. It's a two-story shop, so take the time to check out both levels. I'd also suggest coming back here frequently as things change out on the regular.

If you're looking for a jeweler that truly puts the customer first, Lane Jewelers in Burlington,…read moreNC, is the place to go. Bob (the owner) and his team there are absolutely exceptional--providing a level of customer service that is second to none. From the moment you walk through the door, they become your friend. Before long, they will know you by name and make you feel like family. There's no pressure to overspend, no gimmicks--just fair, reasonable pricing and an honest approach that puts the customer before profit (they understand how to treat a customer and make them a long time friend, not just a here today-home tomorrow sorta thing). That's a rarity these days. Businesses like Lane Jewelers, with over 20 years of dedication to their craft and community, are few and far between. Their commitment to quality, fairness, and genuine hospitality makes them stand out in a somewhat (soon to new more) crowded market. I wouldn't take my business anywhere else, that's for sure. The hunt for the best deal/highest quality product, at every opportunity. If you want expert service, fair prices, and a team that actually cares, Lane Jewelers is the only place to go!! Highly recommend!
