This company towed my car when, according to their sign I was within my right to park there. Fix your sign! I GPS everything and the address I visited for the first time was within your posting. Change your sign so people don't park there. Businesses should not have to post signs that not everybody pays attention to. I had no reason to expect my car would be taken. Not good business. You could simply put up a private property sign with a list of businesses acceptable to park there. It's a deceptive and fraudulent sign. Fix it!!! read more

I feel that also being a towing company, people who got towed would come here with a negative review, understandably upset that they got towed. My experience at franks was great. The guy at the front desk, despite doing many things at once, was prompt in answering any questions or concerns, as well as giving me a quote for the work before they did it. Gary, the mechanic who worked on my truck did an excellent job on a number of repairs, and addressed any concerns i had. I needed a decent amount of work done and i did not feel robbed. read more

These guys go around sharking on innocent people, looking for cars to tow and hold hostage for money. No one calls them, they go searching to hustle a buck. They towed my car and my friends (both parked where there was no sign posted saying the parking was not allowed) and lied right to our faces about us being in a no parking spot. They also lied about looking for the owners of the vehicles before loading them up. We were right in front of them and didn't even see them load our cars up until they were on the beds. One quickly drove off with my friend's car while we tried to get his attention and the other said they would only take my car down if I paid him $110 cash. They charged my friend over $200 at their shady shop 8 miles from where we were. It is in the sketchiest area. I felt uncomfortable at their shop and thank god I had a friend with me and we were there during the day. They only accept cash, which is code for stealing from the government because they obviously don't pay their taxes. I wish I could give them a zero rating because these two guys are crooks and I would never consider working with them if I actually did need a tow. For any woman reading this, if you car gets towed by them please notify someone where you are and bring a friend with you to their shop. Do not go there alone. On top of it, the owner was trying to guilt trip me by saying that he "had to yell at his worker for giving me the car so cheap," and accused of of trying to take advantage of him. Projecting much? Like I'm supposed to feel bad I got robbed and then didn't get robbed even more? Yeah right. Edit: Came back to add that I looked up this business. Apparently the owner, Frank, has tried to sue the police/ town three times (2008, 2012, and February of 2022 https://www.nhregister.com/news/article/Frank-s-threatens-to-sue-Ansonia-over-towing-11520478.php ) because they removed him from a recommended towing list for his aggressive and combative behavior and has since gotten in numerous disputes with local law enforcement and the town. So after the city-wide ban I go to pick up my car from the parking lot that I thought was public on Cottage Street. Come to find out it's residential. I called the police station and about three different towing companies before I found out where my car was. Thankfully it was at Frank's the gentleman who took care of me and was so kind. He said I'd been so pleasant about the tow and gave me a big discount told me to have a Merry Christmas. He was doing his job and did it with grace. read more

I went out to dinner downtown Shelton. No parking in restaurant lot available. Street parking said 15 min only. I went into my WAchovia lot not seeing sign" private property ". I am a customer of this bank. After a lovely dinner , returned to find my car being hooked up to a Franks tow truck. Driver was rude and condescending. This is Shelton, not NYC , for goodness sake. This is an empty parking lot and people should not get towed. The city should encourage people to come down town to eat. Franks should have unhooked my car and not charged me $88. I have used Franks in the past , but will never use again. Probably wont head downtown Shelton much anymore either. read more

Terrible customer service , tow truck drivers are DISGUSTINGLY RUDE , tow truck driver verbally harassed me (a female) and got in my face for asking a simple question then jacked up the towing prices and stated after that my money is paying for his dinner right after this so clearly I was charged money that wasn't benefitting the company or towing service but instead he was pocketing it.
