I was a patient at McNeil Dental for several years, and unfortunately my experience there became…read moreextremely disappointing. One of the worst situations happened when I went in to have a painful tooth looked at and was told I urgently needed a root canal on my molar. I was already in the chair, in severe pain and literally in tears, while Dr. McNeil spent about 45 minutes discussing the situation before eventually telling me she could not perform the procedure because it was the end of the day. It was a Friday, and despite calling it an emergency, the earliest they could get me back in was the following week. Thankfully, another dentist was able to squeeze me in the very next day and completed the root canal without issue. What has been even more upsetting is what I later discovered about the crowns I had done there. I'm young, have always maintained excellent dental hygiene, and noticed that ever since getting two upper crowns done, both sides of my mouth would bleed heavily. I brought up my concerns and was repeatedly told everything looked normal on X-rays. A year later, I saw a new dentist who immediately identified major problems with the crown work. I was told there were gaps around the crowns that allowed bacteria and infection to form underneath. I now have two infected crowns and have been informed that every crown done at this office needs to be redone -- only about a year after having them placed. I specifically invested in getting extensive dental work completed while I had good insurance because I believed this office was reputable. Looking back now, I feel extremely let down by the level of care, attention, and quality of work I received.

She cancelled my routine dental cleaning twice and refused to schedule a dental treatment which was recommended by dr McNeil. I've called 4 times in the past month trying to get it scheduled and even asked that front desk lady to have dr McNeil call me to figure out why it's been so challenging just to be scheduled for a simple procedure. Today when I called again, she laughed at me and was rather disrespectful. I've never experienced such a bad customer service before.

Everyone that I have encountered in the office seem really involved with the patients. Dr. Debonis has a very gentle touch You can also tell he's a bit of a nerd (like me) and has entertained my question regarding dental chemistry and even encouraged me to learn more and on 1 occasion he returned my called at 7pm to follow up on a concerns I had regarding tooth pain. I recently purchased my first home in Bellevue and have been trying to support local businesses more in more and Dr. Debonis has so far been an excellent community dentist for me. I made my first contact with the dental office via FB messenger and was shocked by how quickly someone got back to me! On my first visit I was given a lovely gift bag and a sweet hand written welcome note!! I've had a full dental exam and consultation and two fillings and I am very happy. The office recently was totally renovated everything looks amazing beautiful flooring, and new shiny equipment. I can tell that Dr. Debonis really care about his practice, staff and patients. Making an appointment was easy and I could schedule within a week (for a new patient, which I find to be great). I arrived at the dentist a few minutes early and filled up necessary paperwork. The receptionist was more than helpful and polite. The waiting room is clean and spacious. As I was guided to my "patient chair", I looked around and it seemed that many patients can be accommodated for simultaneous check ups (though I believe there is only one dentist here). Dr. Sartorio was thorough and spent about 40 minutes checking my teeth (regular check up), taking X-rays and chatting about random stuff. In no way I felt rushed. He does have good "bedside manners". The place is well laid out, equipment seems up to date (X-ray machine hidden in a cabinet when not needed) and sufficient hygiene is maintained (gloves etc). I will be returning for a cavity filling and cleaning soon. The only minus is that the dental hygienist is overbooked (more than the dentist). Quite the contrary to what I have been used to. Note: They do accept a lot of insurances and will file a claim for you even if they are out of network - this makes your life much easier.

And now I have to get a second opinion because I've heard so many stories about how inaccurate her assessments are. The badly trained hygienist shoved the whole metal x ray holder in my mouth (the metal ring should be outside) for maybe a dozen x rays. I started screaming in pain and was even in tears. When the doctor came out she expressed no concern for my pain, just blaming my experience on my large tongue. It had never once been brought up before and it was a really crappy way to get around validating my pain. Later that day as I started having symptoms of a respiratory infection, I lost it. In addition to that agony and degradation, now I had to put everything on hold for nearly a week because of whatever nastiness was on that metal thing shoved to the back of my throat again and again, all while the "medical professional" blamed me for my large tongue. And I missed out on paid work I really needed. Dr Monahan hasn't responded to my other review or two emails. I will not contact her directly again but if she wants to apologize she can reach out to me. I am definitely going to report her and her practice and encourage others to do the same. No one should have to endure this.
