Then I called them back again and she sounded even more annoyed that I called this time saying that the doctor wasn't accepting all insurance anymore and I said yes I understand that, I talked to you and I confirmed that this was in network. Dr Chapman is fantastic and has an wonderful staff that all truly care and want to help. They have worked on my wife multiple times and worked out plans with her to make things affordable. We now have coverage through my work and they are making sure they know what coverages we have and what all can be done and doing everything possible to make sure we get all we need done, done with what we have. Planning out an entire care/treatment plan to get us to our best dental health. I loved the text messages I got with confirmation and follow up reminders from the very start. I found that extremely helpful. On my appointment they were running a bit behind but had a few emergencies that were squeezed in before me which I really didn't mind and it actually gave me peace of mind if I were to be having a dental emergency they would squeeze me in. Prefacing this to say I have amazing teeth. It's genetic. I've never had one cavity, never had…read morebraces and my grandmother died with all her own teeth in her mouth. My teeth are very strong and I never have bloody gums or any other issues. I brush twice a day and floss every night before bed. My first visit, they took about a hundred x-rays (excessive), and the dentist did an exam, explained to me she was going to do a cleaning. She then went over the cost of different options and I told her I just wanted a cleaning because that's what my insurance would cover. She did the cleaning and they wanted me to come in a MONTH later for another cleaning (which my insurance doesn't cover). I told them I wouldn't be doing that. I then received a bill in the mail for $120. When calling to complain, they told me they didn't submit it to my insurance. So if I hand't called to complain, I would've been out $120. 6 months later, they called to tell me I was due for my 6 month cleaning (which my insurance covers), so I moved forward with scheduling the appointment. After receiving the date of the appointment I verbally confirmed I was just going to receive a basic cleaning. Lisa then told me a list of things the doctor would need to do. I explained that going to the dentist often feels like going to purchase a used car. All the add-ons and upsells are ridiculous. She interrupted me while I was speaking to further justify the services she previously listed. I waited until she finished and she asked me if I wanted to keep the appointment. I told her to just cancel it and as I was explaining why, she began talking over me and then hung up on me. Real great customer service - NOT. Dealing with a snotty receptionist whilst trying to get a dental appointment is not great service. Nice modern office, but don't charge your customers for unnecessary procedures just to subsidize your decor. And maybe don't put snotty people on your phones when dealing with patients.
