Franklin Dermatology is a long time provider and staple in the Nashville community for all things Dermatology...and they are apparently pretty good at what they do based off all the accolades and awards visible through out the waiting room and office. I recently had my first visit with Dr. Starnes and it was a great experience. She was very kind, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Service was fine but billing was awful. Got a bill a couple of months ago saying I owed $136. Got another bill a couple of weeks later saying I had a $50 credit balance. Got another bill saying I owed $156 dollars. Decided to wait a while to pay since I might get another bill for a different amount. Shortly thereafter got a notice that my account was out to a collection agency. Having been in the credit industry for 50+ years I found this process unacceptable. I was referred here after an extreme hives flare that left my usual doctors baffled. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Navarro and her team of NPs. Everyone was extremely considerate, including check-in. (FYI: you get an awesome bag of skincare samples if you want them during check-in. Highly recommend you get the freebies bag if offered by the staff!) They even have decent wifi in the waiting room. I only waited 5 minutes or so before asked to head into an exam room both times I went - definitely ideal. The staff uses iPads with keyboard attachments which seems like an effective way to take notes on the fly. I saw the doctor almost immediately both times. She was amazing and took my concerns seriously (more than I can say for many previous visits at other establishments). In addition to a skin biopsy, she asked me in detail about history and other details. I was prescribed medication that arrived promptly at the pharmacy. Within a few days of taking the medication as prescribed for my skin, symptoms eased considerably and I had my quality of life back again. She also made time for a follow-up during a very busy holiday period. While this location is definitely out of the way for me, I will keep Franklin Dermatology Group on as my go-to dermatologist group due to the high quality patient care and ease of visits. Dr Broussard is great but she was unavailable and I had to see Dr Starnes. Starnes was late, no bedside manner and I just got botox. After my appointment I had a drooping eyebrow. They lost a long time patient due to her. read more

They do not allow appt times for urgent matters. Another doctor (apparently a good friend of one of the docs) told us to call to be seen. My son has a medical condition and meds were causing side effects relative to his skin. There were no appts available for the summer vacation. I was told thank you for calling, have a nice day when I said he'd be out of state at school by then. I couldn't believe they don't see urgent matters in an appropriate wait time. i should be happy to learn this before comfortably getting established as a patient. read more

No reasonable resolution for a missed appointment. Was charged a fee, tried to resolve, the billing department would rather collect the missed appointment fee than to keep my family's business. I had been with this practice for 25+ and my whole family had been been going there for the past 5 or so years. However, since they'd rather collect a small fee for an appointment that was missed, my family and I will not be back again. The lady I spoke with in Billing was augmentative and did not care about a 25+ year family relationship. So they'll get their precious $50 fee and will miss future income over from family over this misunderstanding and lack of customer service. read more

I recently visited Franklin Dermatology for a growth I needed removed. My wife called the day before and I was seen and treated the next day. NP Emily Stewart did my procedure and she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. When the procedure was over she noticed I was a little pale and had the staff bring me something to drink. She took the time since I had just moved here we talked about the area, schools, family etc. I felt more like a friend and patient rather than just another person and a number. Anytime I have another issue I will always return to Franklin Dermatology and I will always ask to be seen by NP Emily Stewart. I was an established patient here. I lost my job and had state insurance for a very brief period. I had an urgent need to be seen for suspected shingles (later confirmed). My NP Emily (who is wonderful) wasn't available, so I saw Dr. Eva Parker. I was in pain and a bit concerned (I had never had shingles), but Dr. Parker was condescending and even stated (in front of her nurse and NP) that had she known I had state insurance, she never would have let them schedule me. I am still a bit perplexed by the whole ordeal as I paid my bill in full upon checkout. I sure hope she doesn't fall on hard times and have someone treat her that way! I have good insurance now but I will be changing derms! read more

Wait time for appointments is extremely horrible. You have to wait months for new patient appointment with doctors while they push you off on NP. However, if you want Botox or other cosmetic procedure, they will fit you right in because those are their money makers. I've been seeing Franklin Dermatology's aesthetician, Sunny, for over 5 years and the group of doctors for over 15 years for my skincare needs. Even though I've moved and the drive is longer now, I wouldn't consider changing to another aesthetician. I religiously visit for microdermabrasion and peels. They are reasonably priced and complete the services quickly in a friendly, relaxing environment. I recently needed help after having a terrible allergic reaction to something (we're still not exactly sure what caused it). The front office staff gave me an immediate appointment and I waited less than 5 minutes so see the doctor. I was given such wonderful care. The entire staff came together and over the next few days called to check up on me, followed up with the meds they gave me and they saw me again that week to make sure the reaction had stopped. I was so very grateful for all that they did for me. I cannot imagine that they could have done anything more. This group is extremely professional and caring. I was in fully capable hands from the very moment I called--starting with the receptionists, and then the assistants and then with the doctors.
