This was our first time in Frankie's. They have a huge selection which all sound fantastic. My husband ordered the Gymshoe Sandwhich with fries. He thought it was pretty good. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich but I wanted it on Pita. They said they had to charge $1 extra. Ok whatever. I also grabbed a strawberry cheesecake since I'm a huge cheesecake fan and taffy apples for my son. We get home, unwrap it all and it looks good. The food was hot, smelled good, etc. However, the chicken was cut into big chunks and it was over fried. It looked more appealing then it was. I was pretty disappointed. The service was so-so. No one smiling or greeting you. They weren't outright rude, but def not outgoing or friendly. The restaurant did seem clean, so that was a plus. I prob would try it one more time just to give it a second chance. read more

This place is the definition of overhyped trash. Y'all took months to open, had the whole city thinking some fire was coming, and when the doors finally opened... it was straight hot dog water. Food? Weak as hell. Bland, soggy, and looked like it came off a kid's menu at a bowling alley. Ain't no flavor, no pride, no effort. You could've cooked better sh*t drunk at 3am with your eyes closed. This restaurant is a TOTAL SCAM - it's outrageous that I even have to post this review. Wednesday night I ordered takeout ($78 worth of food) only to get home with items missing and our order messed up! I contact the restaurant immediately to alert them to their mistake. MOST restaurants, or real authentic businesses would take ownership of their mistake. NOT this place. In fact, the lady on the phone not only ignored me as I was talking (she was talking to other people) but refused to assist me by telling me there was nothing she could do. We were without a sandwich, another sandwich was made incorrectly, and we received the wrong appetizer. After numerous phone calls, since the lady kept hanging up on me, they eventually agreed to remake the part of the order that was missing and made wrong. Someone was on the way to pick it up for us - since they wouldn't deliver the missing items to my house. However, upon arrival to pick up the remade items and missing item - they were told they had to PAY for it again! It was because we didn't return the food that was made wrong - and the food we were missing!!!! How can you return missing food??? Obviously, this sent the entire transaction into a downward spiral - since after asking for a Manager several times and being told they were NOT in at the time, the phone was passed to one of the line cooks who impersonated the Manager. (how convenient the manager wasn't in, but he just showed up in a matter of seconds!) The "real" manager called me back later - only to argue with me on the phone because I wouldn't bring our order back so they could exchange it for the correct order. This "manager" gave me the number of who he says was the "owner", also someone who doesn't exist! Eventually contacting this business via FB, I was assured the real owner would call me back. The "real owner" did in fact call, and promised me a refund, but then when trying to collect by meeting with them at the restaurant, they blocked my number and now the FB messaging conveniently doesn't work. They won't even answer my call because I'm sure they blocked my number at the restaurant as well. WHO runs their business this way? WHY is this okay? $78 for food that wasn't correct and missing. This place will NEVER see my business again. In fact, a report is also being filed with the BBB on their service and deceitful tactics to get rid of a disgruntled Customer. read more

Frankie's is a small spot in Hammond Indiana. I had passed by on a number of occasions with the plan to stop in. Well I stopped in Saturday. They have a pretty extensive menu, which made it kind of hard to choose, however, I narrowed it down to a couple of Philly's. I had the mushroom Philly, which was delicious. The only drawback was the underside piece of the Philly was super hard. I could only eat the meat and the top part of the bread. As for service, it was adequate. I wasn't expecting much in terms of super friendly service. Nonetheless, if they can get the bread on point, I recommend the mushroom Philly. read more

I've ordered a few times now from this place and guys, it's just not good. The quality is severely lacking. Don't get the hot dogs, ever. They are virtually flavorless and greasy. The Philly sandwiches are just okay. Same with the soup, which they got the order wrong anyway. Fries, too. Meh... mediocre at best. Everything just tasted prepackaged, frozen. They don't even make their own dressing. No house dressing. No homemade ranch. Everything is in a packet. I'm really surprised they're actually still in business. Was literally just ripped off by this place. My brother placed a large order for pick up and i was driving to meet him from chicago. They forgot my chicken gyro. So he calls to say that it's missing and the regular gyro was smothered in onions (requested no onions). So i go out of my way to stop to pick it up. They tell me that I need to bring the food back to get replacement. Um; we didn't get the chicken. Then they told me I had to pay for it again and request a refund from manager. I didn't stop at my brothers first so I don't have the gyro; offered a photo. They weren't interested. I asked again just for my chicken, they demanded i pay so I left and went to White Castle. Upon arrival my brother calls more to complain. In addition the fried okra was actually cauliflower. So at this point all food is cold. It's 8pm, I've already been driving 3hours and they want us to bring all of the food back for any refund. My brother has now requested a full refund including his tip due to terrible service. This is for the new Kennedy Ave location. Why in the world during your opening first month would you put a young lady with no social skills on the register to deal with the public? The dismissive attitude that she had on display is a reflection of the kind of service we can expect in the future. My wife and I came inn for the first time for this location and both ordered the same think but I ordered mozzarella cheese on my Philly instead of the cheese wiz. I was charged extra for the change in the selection of cheese. We drive back home and sit down to eat just to find that my sandwich had absolutely nothing on it but bread and meat. They did put the onions on the side like I asked. They didn't even put the wrong cheese on it but they didn't put the cheese that they charged me extra for either. After getting dressed, driving back to the restaurant, standing in line and explaining that my order was wrong. She tried to minimize the error by asking "was it just missing cheese". She did this with the worst attitude and the whole time she never said sorry for the messed up order nor for me having me to drive back up there to get the order done right. That's when I wanted my money back. She told the guy that I wanted my money back because my sandwich was missing cheese. I want you guys to know that I would have just let them remade my sandwich but because of her poor attitude and lack of social skills while dealing with the public the company didn't deserve my money. I've never got this service at the location on Calumet Ave..Your food is always good and made just like we order it. Mistake are made what we do is acknowledge it, fix it and move on with an apology for the mistake. You don't act as if the customers is wrong for wanting their food made right. They're food is great BUT now it's like your paying for a 4 star meal but only receive a kid size meal. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with sport peppers and received a sandwich with nothing but Bread and cheese the meat was BARELY there!! I paid $10 for bread and cheese that's so unacceptable and then if you try ordering over the phone they don't give you their undivided attention they end up messing up your order and blaming you for it, when in reality you carefully talked over the phone and told them what you wanted. So delicious I found myself craving a second visit within the week. If you're local to the NWI region you're not going to go wrong with Frankie's. First time there. Plenty to eat. The sandwich was big and came with a lot of fries. I got 2 meals out of it. He uses only the best ingredients, I can tell. Even the napkins are high quality. The place is clean. There is a lot to choose from on his menu; I'm sure there is something for everyone. They are quick in getting your order. They stay open late at night, which helps me a lot.
