Modern, classic elegance with an appealing subtle color palette. Simply beautiful! The service was outstanding. They were highly attentive and responded to all of our needs quickly and happily in a very friendly, courteous way, Daisy and her team of bus support were unbelievably attentive. If you go on a day that she is there, ask to be seated in her section. Good service with good food has a tendency to take your experience to atmospheric levels! The bread baskets were filled with rustic Italian bread that was so delicious I thought I was at a trattoria in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Instead of butter, the upscale olive oil dip was very authentic. The menu offers a wide variety of choices for everyone that appeals to carnivores and vegetarians alike. Pastas, beef, pork, lamb and seafood. I asked to substitute one starch for another and the chef made it happen! The food was incredibly fresh. My dining companions has the Maple glazed salmon. The other had the lamb chops. Both raved about the freshness of their meals as well as the perfection to which their dishes were cooked! I had the scallops and substituted the starch with Truffle Fries. The theatrics associated with the presentation of my scallops was breathtaking. It was au flambé! They were so fresh and slightly crusted, i'd never tasted anything that delicious before. Even popular and legendary EAST COAST seafood restaurants could learn a lot about the preparation and presentation of scallops. My meal appropriately mixed textures, tangy tartness and sweetness in the veggie dish consisting of chopped zucchini sweet potatoes and spinach. The way that our meals were plated and presented was sheer "ART," worthy of a museum display. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! If I were to recommend an enhancement, I'd recommend some soft background music/jazz or a singer and pianist. It's that type of place. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. The presentation was spectacular! I can't wait to dine al fresco when the weather permits!

The ambiance is nice with the restaurant not too dark but still has moody lighting. The entire time we sat down there was a huge group of people waiting for a table, so definitely make a reservation! For apps we got garlic bread and Caesar salad. The garlic bread was a rec from our server, which did not disappoint. They brought out melted butter to pour over the bread. Caesar salad was interesting, it has chopped celery inside which I didn't realize until I started eating. I don't like celery but my sis does and she liked it in the salad. Pappardelle alla porcellino and chicken vesuvio were AMAZING. Pasta was fresh and the chicken was so decadent. Both mocktails I were delish. The tiramisu was SO GOOD. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Chicago!

I came here for a business dinner with about 6 others. The only frustrating part of our experience was we made a reservation online weeks in advance and when we arrived we were told that they basically overbooked every night and when you reserve a seat you're just saying you're coming. So we showed up and were told we were going to wait an hour. It sounds like they are super busy, but there are better ways to ensure the restaurant is selling every available seat rather than offering basically fake reservations that don't mean anything when you get there. Someone in our group complained enough about it that they sat us and did honor the reservation which we appreciated - given that it was a business dinner though, I think it was awkward we had to do that. It just was a LOT of work to organize multiple out of towners getting together and to show up and potentially wait an hour would have been so inconvenient. They really should fix this problem. The reservation issue aside the experience was great. The service is just sort of meh I didn't feel like they were above or beyond and didn't note anything exceptional there. But the food..... the food is the main event for sure. Everything I tried I loved. I had just had Italian the day before so I didn't want anything that felt "too Italian" (lasagna, pasta, pizza, etc) so I got the braised short rib over polenta which was a nice change of pace. It was amazing. Some of the best polenta I've ever had. I am already looking forward to the next time I can go back! The food here is outstanding. If you are able to go, I would highly recommend it.

From the beginning, working with Alyssa to plan the menu and room setup was a great experience. She was so patient with me as I changed my mind from the side room to the main room as our numbers grew. Patrick helped on the day of the event, and although there was one small hiccup, he quickly fixed it. As we were setting up in a rush, the wait staff was so helpful and moved whatever we wanted. The food and the service were impeccable. Everyone was commenting on how much food there was and how delicious it all was. The room was beautiful, with natural light from the patio, and our 55 guests had plenty of room to mingle and spread out. Everyone was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely caring throughout the entire afternoon. It made the day so much better that we didn't have to worry about a thing. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate such an important milestone. If you are looking for a stress-free and memorable event space, I highly recommend it.

But assuming that is a big mistake! The service was excellent, everything we had was great. The prices are even reasonable. Frankly, I would have paid more for this quality of food. Our excellent server Daniel and his twin brother Carlo treat everyone like they're guests in their home. They made us feel very welcome. The drinks are strong but not just alcohol overload (sometimes I think places do this to cover up other faults). I could actually taste the other flavors with my vodka which isn't the case in many places. Bread was nice, fresh, but nothing to write home about. Coffee was strong and the calamari was perfect. They even had home-made ranch; I didn't expect ranch at a Italian restaurant - let alone good ranch. Onto the main courses, the Lasagna was excellent, the sausage was so flavorful, I could have been satisfied just with that and the salad. The steak was massive and rivaled steaks I've had at Wildfire and Gibsons for double the price. The desserts were perfect too. So many restaurants hide their mediocrity behind too powerful drinks and too sugary desserts but not this place. We will definitely be back!

We waited until March then looked for a venue to renew vows and have a celebratory meal with family and friends. As we both had been to Bella Mia several times together it was a short search. We originally planned the event with a former employee who left the restaurant as the date, (March 21st), was approaching. Randy the owner then took over. He made several suggestions different from what we'd originally planned, including changing the area of the renewal of vows and where our wedding officiate would be in front of the guests, but they turned out to be perfect!! The event was nothing short of fantastic! My wife had tears in her eyes much of the service! The food was spectacular, and everyone raved about it! Randy and his staff gave us a wedding to remember, and we are eternally grateful for what Bella Mia did for us and couldn't be happier that was the venue we chose!!!

We came in looking forward to dinner and unfortunately left disappointed…read more The positives first: my wife's espresso martini was excellent -- easily the highlight of the evening. Her Chicken Vesuvio was very good, and the Shrimp DeJonghe appetizer was enjoyable, especially with the bread. Unfortunately, everything declined once the entrées arrived. My porterhouse steak was placed on the table rather abruptly, and the cut looked more like a T-bone, with the filet portion nearly nonexistent. The quality of the meat was poor and extremely tough -- barely edible. I rarely ask for A1 sauce with a steak, but it was the only way I could get through it. The baked potato was dry, and while the side salad was fresh, it felt more like cafeteria-quality than something from a restaurant at this price point. Shortly after dropping off the entrées, the waitress quickly asked how the food was. I responded, "just okay," but she immediately walked away, not giving the impression that she was interested in hearing anything further. That set the tone for the rest of the service. What made the situation more disappointing was seeing the table next to us receive the same porterhouse. Their steak appeared nearly twice the size of mine, had a clearly defined filet portion, and they were able to cut into it effortlessly. The inconsistency was very noticeable. After that, service was largely absent. We waited about 20 minutes trying to locate our waitress Dee with no success. The owner did stop by and was very friendly when we asked for A1 sauce, but overall the service remained slow. It took roughly 30 minutes to get a water refill and another 30 minutes to receive our check. The explanation given was that she had been in the back handling a difficult order. For the price and expectations that come with ordering a porterhouse, this experience did not meet the standard. While there were a few bright spots, the inconsistency in food quality and service makes this a 2-star experience at best.
