If i could leave zero stars... that's what this would be. I went in to the sandwich shop at 8:12pm. The shop closed at 9pm. My husband and I waited at the counter, ready to order for several minutes. Two team members were cleaning up, had ALL chairs up, and looked as though they were cleaning the cold condiment area. Never once were we acknowledged. Had we walked in 10-15 minutes prior to closing, fine. But 47-48 minutes prior to closing? Absolutely-freaking-not. We walked out. I visit this location regularly, but will never go back to this location or any other Capriottis again. I picked up the GMs business card and attempted to leave a message but the team members (who had no time to serve us) certainly had time to pick up the telephone. This place has fallen off. It use to be my favorite sandwich place. Today, our sandwiches, which are suppose to be hot, were all cold with a gross amount of wet slaw. I ordered pastrami and they gave me cold, unseasoned roast beef. We had to go back because they forgot something in our order. 2 weeks ago, I ordered through their site on Door Dash. Half my order was missing. They blamed it on the poor DoorDash person, but I'm now convinced that the restaurant didn't pack all of my order. The stores excuse for not fixing it was "my general manager isn't here. I'll have them call you tomorrow". Still haven't heard back. I will never go back to this location. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see the amazing vegetarian options that this sandwich shop offers - both veggie turkey and two cheese steak options. That immediately elevates them above other sub shops in my mind. My husband had the Impossible™ Cheese Steak, and I had the Veggie Turkey. He enjoyed his sandwich, and I loved the turkey that came on mine. However, neither of us were big fans of the bread, and the proportion of toppings to bread was unfortunate. Lunch - I went with the American Wagyu Roast Beef. I had to look at my reviews it has been over a decade since I been to a Capriotti's. The pictures show a a sub that is stacked with layers of the great stuff. Instead you get a roll that is filleted and the beef is crammed in then provolone cheese, lettuce, onions, mayo, and tomato. Then tomato sat on top of what was pretty much a open face sandwich. Great there is a lot of meat in there but not an easy sandwich to eat and did not meet expectations when the picture of the product is not the same thing you receive. The tomato was heavily peppered and did not want to stay in the sandwich. I had to eat the tomato by itself and after that first bite I stopped eating it. Service - The cashier seemed over whelmed. She even said to me why is everyone coming in at once. I am thinking to myself it is noon. I know this is the age of placing orders via an app so it is truly hard to tell the order in which people ordered their meal. But from the time I ordered to getting my food took over 30 minutes. Do not order from this place unless you are picking it up yourself and can thoroughly check it before you walk away with it. Do not use any delivery service. The restaurant pays zero attention to special instructions, or worse, they get them so garbled that they do exactly the opposite of what you want. I even called right after putting in my DoorDash order to emphasize that they should read and follow the special instructions. I wanted no Gorgonzola vinaigrette. Instead, they gave me the Gorgonzola vinaigrette and left off all the Gorgonzola cheese from the salad. So basically I got a $20 bowl of lettuce. Look at the picture of their Wagyu and blue salad. Looks nice, doesn't it? But you don't get that much meat, even with "double" meat. They used to give you a lot more, and no one is going to gaslight me into saying they didn't. On delivery service applications, they don't give you the opportunity to order triple or quadruple meat, which would almost be enough for a person on a diet. They literally give you ONE ounce, they said as much when I called to complain. Some time ago, I had a similar problem with them and I called them up to complain, and they said they were going to put me in some book for a $20 credit. When I called to complain about THIS particular order, I said I wanted the credits combined. They said they threw them away at the end of the year! I was not told that when I was told I was getting a $20 credit. They have ripped me off for the last time. I ordered what was supposed to be Vegetarian Chicken Cheese Steak. I received whatever the employee made. Which looked more like the impossible chz steak. I specially requested the vegetarian chicken cheese sandwich because I'd had it before. They tell me I couldn't get a refund because nothing was wrong with the sandwich yet the entire sandwich was made wrong. The manager was very unkind and not understanding nor being reasonable with a solution. She immediately wanted to argue with me that despite the obvious sloppily made sandwich they don't give refunds. I demanded my refund even after the employee stood right in front of me with his bare hands taking apart and touching items in the sandwich and still asserting no refund because nothings wrong with the sandwich. I came to realize after getting my refund and leaving So glad I kept the receipt not only had the employee rung up my order as the wrong item but he knew he did and the manager backed him up 100% instead of checking behind her employee. It was a very unpleasant experience and I never plan to visit the establishment again. I am very disappointed as I was very clear with the manager about what I ordered and having ordered it before. They tried taking advantage of my minor daughter who initially placed the order too. When the employee realized I came in to get my money back he tried making every excuse in the book instead of admitting he entered the wrong order. I will be my experience as well as reporting the policies of this establishment to the BBB and CFPB as it's unacceptable to think it's okay to not give a refund for an inedible product after a mistake. To top matters off I've been vegetarian almost my whole life the sandwich they gave me had impossible meat that had clearly been cooked with and mixed in the same remnants of actual meat steak and or chicken. Unclean grill or whatever they are using. Not only could I smell it but there was clearly actual steak and chicken meat remnants in the sandwich that could've easily led to myself and my unborn child being very sick. Noticing a trend with there being lots of black women complaining about the service. And they take forever to make your food almost 35 mins. For a wrong sandwich. Manager is trash breathing and what's wrong with the world today. Also pay attention the owner seems to only reply to good reviews so clearly this place has zero accountability. I went to this location recently as I was curious about their sandwiches and they are fairly new to my area. As I am fan of both Subway and Potbelly, I figured why not give this a try..... As some have referenced, the place is not all that big...and when it gets busy there might not seem to be that much room between patrons eating in and those ordering. To me that's ok as it adds to the charm of the place. Anyway I get in there and was immediately greeted with a friendly hello and welcome to the place. After a big of a wait and also trying to figure out what I wanted, I decided on a Chicken Parmesan sub combo. As they had a number of choices, I went for a small sub (they have assorted sizes from smaller to large....) and turned it into a combo with chips and drink. Well eventually my order is ready and I open the sub up (oh yea they toast them too...huge ++ in my book). It was really good with the tomato sauce and cheese oozing out. It was also very flavorful and hot too. I would definitely recommend the place. They have a variety of items to choose from and many different sizes for however big or small of meal you want. If you stick to their uniquely original specialty sandwiches; then, yes they are excellent. The Bobbie is a great sandwich. This sandwich is thanksgiving in a bun. The turkey is made fresh everyday! In addition, it has cranberry sauce, stuffing and mayo. The Capastrami is another excellent creation with very fresh tasting pastrami, swiss cheese and coleslaw. The meatball sandwich is also an excellent choice with the fresh tasting marinara providing an excellent contrast to the rich meatballs. Then, why am I not giving them a perfect 5 stars? Well, I found the Italian sub to only be good, but not excellent. This place would be much better off if they sourced their bread from one of the excellent bakeries around town (Turano, Gonnella, Publican). Likewise, I found the Italian style sausage that they used in their sandwich was the sort you would find on the east coast. News flash, Chicagoland area makes much better Italian sausage then the sort you find on the east coast. Yes, its true, I believe it has to do with the stockyards once being in Chicago. Many places around Chicago make excellent Italian sausage. Should anything I am writing deter you from visiting? Absolutely not, because if you stick to their original sandwiches, then you have made an excellent choice. Also, they make the best variety of sandwiches in this area. I really like these sandwiches. I've had the homemade Turkey sandwich - today I had it plain - it was that good - doesn't need any condiments. We've also had the chicken cheese steak sandwich. Unbelievably delicious. I appreciated the staff - everyone was helpful, knowledgeable, and fast. They all seem able to do all tasks. I really liked that they change gloves between taking payments and making sandwiches. Everyone was masked. The prices are higher than subway or jersey mikes or jimmy John's but this is better. Based on how delicious the food is, the prices are low! I visited around 5 pm and the place had a steady flow of customers. Can't wait for more locations to pop up. read more

I'm also glad that a new restaurant is in the area. The first time I went to try it out, it was good but it was dry. * tip * I didn't know you had to ask for mayonnaise- maybe they should say that to customers. Staff is really friendly and so is the manager I'm assuming is always there. Place is also very clean and there's plenty of room to sit. I was really disappointed. I saw lots of marketing and hype regarding their Vegas units which piqued my curiosity. The parking is limited. The entry has no double door which meant Cold air blasting the very small dining room. You line up next to people's tables. Your butt is in their face. The menu is very extensive with cold and grilled items plus salads. The service was very slow during lunch. The manager was the sole cashier. You order at the register and pick up by your name. Again you're standing right next to awkwardly placed tables. Nowhere to stand! The dining room floor is plain concrete. The wind tunnel and lack of decor might be their strategy to have you take it with you. They also have a pick up window. The sizes of subs- half, small, medium large. There is a sample sub at the counter to show you their sizes. The half looks to be about an inch bigger than the small. The bread was nothing special. There is an oven in the open kitchen area but I also saw bags of bread. It truly tasted like commercial bread. The "Italian" had so little meat that I had to open the sandwich to make sure they put it on. It did come with an oil topping but otherwise was pretty unremarkable in taste. If you're used to Subway than this would be a great upgrade for you. If you like the quality of Jersey Mike's with freshly cut meats and small talk service than you will be disappointed. I did like the tray that had kids lollipops-that's about all I saw that was different. So many sandwich competitors with better product and decent service. read more

I am vegetarian and it's very hard to find a great veggie sandwich. I have tried Capriotti's Turkey veggie sandwich and was beyond delicious!! The perfect combination of veggies and veggie turkey. I also tried a salad and was very fresh and premium quality. Portions are very generous and stuff is very friendly. Will definitely be coming back. Interior is also very modern and upscale. read more
