Good value and broad selection. Much more relaxed than other airport cafés or restaurants.

Wythenshawe in South Manchester isn't really known as a gastronomic destination. The majority of…read morerestaurants listed for the area are take-aways and cafes, all of which I'm sure are great in their own regards, but they're all pretty similar. This is why I like The Met Stop Diner. Someone decided to take a vacant space in Wythenshawe's town centre Civic Centre shopping precinct and build an American themed diner. Something different! A new angle! When you walk in, it's nice to see that they haven't half-baked it, they've gone for the full classic American diner interior, with red, white and chrome seating, condiment baskets, and a big mural of the New York skyline on one wall. The menu does try to cater for multiple tastes, with some classic English cafe classics such as the Full English Breakfast, but they have a good selection of American breakfasts too, as well as hot dogs, burgers, deli style sandwiches, and a few house specialities. My favourite part of England meets America was that on the tables there was one of those little silver ice cream dishes, which we came to realise were specifically for putting your tea bag in after taking it out of your tea! WHY DON'T MORE PLACES DO THIS?! This is such a simple idea, but I've only seen The Met Stop Diner do it so far, and they're American themed! There were three of us on this day, and we were all ready for breakfast, and so chose the American pancake stack, the Full English Breakfast, and the American Breakfast, as well as three mugs of tea. The tea came out first which was good as we all needed a brew, but as the breakfasts were cooked fresh to order, we'd drunk our tea by the time our food came out. A pot of tea might be a better idea, but it's not very American! The Full English was a standard cafe breakfast to be honest, but still decent homely stuff. The American breakfast was so substantial that it couldn't be finished, but it was agreed that the pancakes were great, as they were also on the stack of pancakes. Very enjoyable indeed. We'll definitely pop in again when we're next in the area, as the rest of the menu looks great too! The only thing I would suggest is reprinting the menus (as they were looking a bit dog-eared), and checking the spellings (Chicago, not "Chicargo"!), but if that's really the only thing I can find to suggest as an improvement, you're definitely doing something right, Met Stop! See you again soon!

Part of the successful chain of restaurants and nightclubs, Bury's Chicago Rock is a fun place,…read morewhether you're after decent food, a bop to some cheesy tunes, or just a decent cheap drink. By day, Chicago Rock provides a decent menu, similar in scope to that offered by similar chains such as Frankie and Bennies or TGI Fridays. Main courses range around the 8-12 pound mark, and the portions are sizeable - you shouldn't leave feeling hungry! As with these other chains, the serving staff are all about tips and can be a bit in your face, but that's not a bad thing - you'll get all the attention you need, and shouldn't be left hanging round between courses. Starters and desserts are also plentiful and recommended, from garlic bread and appetising meat dishes, to luxury ice cream sundaes and good portions of cakes, there's something for everyone. By night, Chicagos comes alive with the DJ and dancefloor. The bar usually has good promotional offers, such as 2 for 1 on certain drinks, or free drinks between certain times. These attract a wide range of people, from students after a fun night, to older types who might just fancy letting their hair down. The music tends to be a mix of chart music and cheesy dance stuff, with the odd bit of rock and roll, disco and rock thrown in - something for all. The place is quieter in recent months than in its heyday, but it's a decent and generally trouble-free environment. Stag and hen parties usually end up here, and it's often fun to watch the singles prowling ;-)

The old railway building. Thanks yelp for making me aware. They have a lunch special with a selection of burgers and a chicken sandwich for £10 (at the time of this review 07/2023). That includes a side of fries. I noticed every restaurant that you walk In the host will ask you about any allergies or intolerances. If you let them know you're they will let you know what to avoid. Or if they do not know they will send you a manager who knows. There must have been a huge problem with allergies and it is a great way to avoid it. It is, in the beginning, a bit annoying until you realize it is actually a good thing (I wonder if Mcdonald's to the same - I'll might have to try that). So I ordered the chicken burger with a breaded fried chicken breast some black pepper mayo sauce some salad, Onions, and a slap of avocado. WOW - the nicely tasting breaded chicken was fried to perfection and it was a really big piece without drying out. Good job! the "burner" was definitely the combination of chicken and that avocado spread mixed in With the black Peppercorn mayonnaise - an almost perfect bite. The bun was not too big to get in the way of tasting what's important all other ingredients have been fresh and am tasty the fries also fried to a crisp state without being burned. Hands down a surprisingly great burger. Oh, I will be back - the service was five starts as well quick, knowledgeable, and friendly!

(Although their entire rail for both window seating sat empty through the duration of my visit) I ordered the mushroom and truffle oil poutine, their classic burger with bacon and a pint. Poutine was decent, though some of the bites of cheese curds (not traditional squeaky curds) we're still cold through the center .. gravy mushrooms and truffle made the dish decent The burger was quality just overwhelmingly messy and fell apart prior to a few bites in. Also the menu stated briosche buns, and it was served on a sesame bun The fries were quality though be double or triple fried.. I enjoyed them.
