I'm leaving this review after much contemplation and consideration. Let me preface by saying, the ladies in the office who I've interacted with are wonderful and were incredibly kind during the process of moving in. Alessandara is a wonderful leasing agent and very personable. Here are my issues with the property. This property is advertised as a luxury building, it does not feel very luxurious in my opinion. A $1,280 base rent for starting 1 bedroom sizes is not the cheapest and the price does climb up so these would be things to consider when looking to move in.
Do your due diligence of inspecting the area - I wish I had driven here at night before I moved in. That is all I will say regarding that - do your research on the nightly demographic that hangs around the gas station. Imagine my surprise when I walked out to go to work this morning (05/30) around 2am and turned the corner outside to find a homeless man sitting outside the building with his phone plugged in out there. The level of safety is beginning to feel worse as time goes on and I have only lived here for so little time.
Cleanliness upon move in - My first red flag should have been that the unit was not thoroughly cleaned when I moved in. After doing my inspection I noticed lots of areas that had been very mildly wiped down, kitchen cabinets were soiled, garbage in the corners under the counters and under the stove when I pulled it out. Worst of all, the vinyl floors throughout the apartment had caked on dirt in some areas and just throughout - the floors left my feet consistently dirty, and turned my white bathmat brown. I also found the previous resident's knife and cutlery in the top compartment of the dishwasher leading me to believe it was not cleaned. I let the office know and was told it would be communicated to upper management. I heard nothing back. Almost 2 weeks after I moved in and I reached out again after hearing nothing back from maintenance like they said I would. At some point within the next week I got a text that the maintenance team would stop by, however this time I was unable to accommodate so I let them know I could not move boxes around due to my ongoing injury recovery and my only help was on vacation. I spoke with Alessandra who was going to find out if maintenance would be able to assist in moving my boxes around and then heard nothing back. I took it upon myself to buy my own floor steamer to deep clean the vinyl floors and did the remaining cleaning myself. Cleanings are paid for whether by residents moving out, or the property and should thoroughly be done and followed up on with vendors.
Roaches - I've been here almost two months and have already had the displeasure of encountering 4 unwanted, non-rent paying pests. First outside my door, which I thought was a one off due to it not being inside, and then another 3 inside my kitchen. Regardless of how spotless you keep your kitchen and how often you clean it they will invite themselves (rent free). Pest control came in to treat and I was able to ask about roaches in TX since I am not from here and he told me it would actually mean someone close by has them. So more lack of cleanliness, just likely from someone else leading to your suffering. It is out of the staff's control whether people are clean or not, everyone has their personal habits, but something to consider if you're looking to be in a clean community and don't want to think about pests crawling all over the things you put in your mouth and body.
Noise levels - People have been very loud, and it has been consistent whether arguing in front of the property at ungodly hours of the morning, and night - or inside their homes. The walls are thin, and it is irritating to have to listen to your neighbors' disagreements. It is not always quiet.
Paying for broken amenities - You are required to pay a monthly fee (I forget the number as I am typing this) for the package delivery - imagine my surprise when I go to pick up my first package and the padlock is 100% useless and for show while the door is accessible at any point in time. Delivery drivers do not always put your packages in the locker either - they will pile it up on top of other boxes or leave it at your door. I've had smaller packages left at my door, but also larger ones like furniture which I understand take up lots of space in the package room. Thankfully I have had UPS hand deliver directly to me other items. I have dealt with delivery drivers as a leasing agent and again this is not the staff's fault however my complaint is paying for an unsecured package locker.
I asked for a call before maintenance entered my home as a courtesy - they showed up and did not call (more than once, however I didn't have an issue with it when I was not present and still moving my belongings in). They also failed to communicated fixing my disposal so I was wondering when they'd show up but it was already completed.
My opinion is - don't move here. read more
