I took advantage of one of their specials I received in the mail when I lived in Reading and went in. Everyone was kind and I felt comfortable. The dentist at the time informed me I had to have 2 wisdom teeth removed. The oral surgeon they sent me to was AMAZING. My trust was built with Stoneham Dental Care - to have recommended such an amazing surgeon they had to be great as well. I was a pretty basic patient - fillings here and there, cleanings every 6 mos., etc... and then I had a dental disaster in 2014. I experienced an injury resulting in a concussion, loss of a tooth and displaced front teeth. Every specialist was caring and pleasant through the entire process. They saw me cry. They saw me in pain. They saw me irrationally upset over every delay - due to the healing process, not anything they did wrong. Root canal? No issue. Implant? No issue. It wasn't their fault I was having emotional stress from the incident. I have had nothing but positive experiences with any of the staff at Stoneham Dental Care. It's a little costly, yes... but they go above and beyond.

This place is AKA Dr. Butts Orthodontics…read more I called to schedule a consultation for braces. By chance, it was Dr. Butt himself who answered the phone. He said he had an opening at 1pm for Saturday. I asked if we could meet at 10am instead which he agreed. (Be mindful of this as it's important later). On Saturday, I called the office to explain I was about 10min behind which the front desk person said he'd let Dr. Butt know. I arrive and fill out my paperwork. I wait and wait. I'm finally motioned to the back office. A young man puts a paper bib around my neck and enters information into a flat screen on the wall, telling me the Dr. will be in shortly. He also advised that no one actually scheduled me in the system for the visit. And so I wait, and wait. The information on the flat screen is patients names, numbers, and why they will be seen. This was very concerning for me. Finally, Dr. Butt arrives and asks if I was there for cleaning or invisalign. I explained neither, that I'm here for a consultation because I'm interested in braces. He puts on gloves and does a 5 second physical examination of my mouth. He again pushes Invisalign, tells me the price and how long treatment will take. He asks if I have questions and begins to motion to leave when I say I do. I begin my questions and though he answers ( I liked his responses) he continued twice to look behind him at the flat screen which displays the time. He then says if I have additional questions to email and he'll respond. As he gets up to leave he makes a remark that really upset me. He made a comment about not having time to do consults on Saturdays as it's a very busy day for him. Now mind you, he's the one who told me to come in on Saturday. Needless to say, I will not be a patient at this practice. Proper communication and bedside manner are imperative for me. If you plan on seeing your orthodontist for 1-3 years for braces/Invisalign you need to have rapport built and comfortable with that person. I did not feel valued as a prospective patient at all. ETA: my consultation I was told would take 30min however I spent more like 5-7 min with Dr. Butt on the consultation.

Hygienist Dina balances her sweet disposition with the most gentle touch. Dr. Bankhead is the best dentist I've ever had. He is a pleasure to see. I require frequent visits and actually look forward to going as I always feel better afterwards. I've never experienced any pain...almost fell asleep a few times on the chair. The service is obviously paramount for this office as is their I.T. relativity. Everything is automated and current. I get automated and personal reminders making it easy to remember appts. Jason, who runs the office, is the most efficient and thorough office manager I've met at any business. He always makes sure I know everything I need to (even tracking down info I might need to know from my insurance) before we have any procedure. He never lets me miss my appointments (and I am a notorious flake when it comes to that). We've been bringing our son since he was old enough to need cleanings, too. It's just one of those places you know you can trust.
