Disciple Masonry - Stone Repoint Near North Wales, Repointing Cracked Mortar Joints

    Disciple Masonry

We've been battling water leakage in our living room for years. We've had several contractors…read more(roofing, window, etc) try to find the source of the problem to no avail. Ultimately they suggested it could be a problem with the stones in the wall. Disciple came out, recommended a strategy of replacing a couple of stones, re-pointing the rest of the area and applying sealant over the whole section. Work was scheduled promptly. The guys were very friendly and professional. The job was finished within 10 days (mortar needed to cure before sealant could be applied) and it looks great. Now we have to wait for a horrific rainstorm to see if that solves the problem.

Asked for an estimate for a 2x2 section of stucco that needed repair/replacing. The employee who…read morecame to see my home (I believe his name was Charles) provided a few details about what they would do but said he'd get back to me with an estimate "later today or tomorrow". After a week, I called to follow up and was told I'd hear back "later that day or the next." After another week of no contact, I called back again and spoke to a man named Nathan who told me that he would follow up with me (you guessed it) "later that day or the next". Still no call or text. Very frustrating as it's raining a lot lately and we want our external stucco wall repaired before any water damage occurs. I guess maybe they don't need my business? Can't say anything about their work but this customer service experience makes me question their reliability and attention to detail. Your experience may vary, but this was mine, for what it's worth.

He set an appointment for the following day. Albert showed up on time, in fact a few minutes early which already gave me confidence in him. I told him what I wanted and he said he would get back to me the following day. The next day as promised Albert reached back out and came over with an estimate and explained exactly how the wall needed to be done because of the slope. He showed me pictures of the work he had done on other jobs and it was incredible. I knew at that moment I didn't need to look any further, I found the perfect contractor. I went with Albert to the stone yard and picked out the stone based on his recommendation as to would be best. Albert set a start date and told me exactly how long it should take. He showed up promptly at 7am and started working. I have never had a more dedicated contractor than Albert Mena. He completed the job on time and it was spectacular. Albert's work ethic is unlike any contractor I have ever used, he is simply the best Masonry contractor to be found! He does so many things besides retaining walls. His pricing was great and well worth every penny. You cannot ever go wrong with Albert Mena, I highly recommend him! He is also the nicest and most honest and trustworthy contractor that you will ever find.

Looking for a concrete contractor to tear up and replace my slate patio with a concrete pad…read more Posted on several Facebook community pages and got some recommendations. Altho I did NOT get a recommendation for Joe via FB, I got one straight from a client's mouth. Walking the dog around the neighborhood I came upon a fresh concrete sidewalk and steps that looked very nice! I took note of the sign posted at the worksite, Joe Libertini Concrete and gave him a call. He stopped out the very next morning and gave me a quote on the spot, whereas the other 2 recommended contractors took roughly a week to get a quote to me. I spoke with my neighbor who raved about Joe's work. So...I went with Joe, not only because he beat them on price, but he was also quoting 6" of concrete rather than 4. Additionally, he is the only person whose work I saw for myself. I was very pleased with Joe's work. He is a one man operation renting anything he needs so he can do the work himself. I was very impressed watching him work in the summer heat, and moreso with the work he did. My patio looks fantastic, and with the wire and rebar supporting a 6 inch pad, I should be good for decades to come! Need some concrete? French drain? New sidewalk or patio? Do yourself a favor and get a quote from Joe!

Andrew and Steve are master craftsman with a keen eye to minute details. I contacted them to…read moreconstruct an interior PA blue stone pad for my new wood stove and also to install stone veneer on two of the walls. Andrew and Steve are not just stone masons and have excellent skills in both interior and exterior construction that comes in handy when the unforeseen glitch pops up. For example they were able to reinforce the floor to support the very heavy weight of the pad and stove. While working in the basement on the floor reinforcement, Andrew noticed that there was a bump in the basement concrete floor that I lamented had been tripping me every time I did the laundry. Without hesitation, he went to his truck for some tools and remedied that rather large bump at no additional charge. Steve is an artisan, and created a real show piece backdrop to the Vermont castings red stove. The pattern and color variation he put forth is truly amazing and far exceeded my expectations. There was one stone that I felt was a little off in color, and they had no pushback, and were completely open to replacing it albeit while the stone had not fully set, but it was obvious their goal was 100% customer satisfaction. The cuts for outlets, windows, and ceilings were flawless and the mortar joints between stones was applied perfectly. I learned that Andrew is a 2nd generation mason, and he and Steve had been training under his dad since they were kids. I had to travel out of town, and had no worries leaving them the keys to finish the job. They are great communicators and completely trust-worthy. When icy cold rain was forecast Andrew called the night before to alert me of the threatening weather and left it that he would revisit the workday in the morning. He called bright and early to "ASK" if we could postpone a day as he would be cutting the stone and mixing mortar outside. I of course agreed. They also coordinated with the stove installers to help wrangle the very heavy stove pad onto the frame they had built. Andrew and Steve are team players and also a great team, with complimentary skills and eyes that truly ensures a beautiful job. They cleaned up every day and left the job, spotless with no debris. They have my highest recommendation and can handle any masonry job at hand. 6 Stars out of 5!!!!!
