Most definitely a five star operation here. My family and I had no complaints about the job that was done today. First of all the crew arrived promptly at 8:00AM. We were initially given a window so we were delighted to be the first job of the day. There was a massive tree in our yard. So massive that neighbors finally became annoyed with the overhang of vines and weeds so it had to come down. The crew came prepared with all manner of tree cutting and disposal machinery and tools. The whole system involved several trucks that took up a good portion of the street. These guys were thorough and professional. Several cars had to be moved out of the way one of which was dead. No problem. They jumped it and moved it as well as another for a disabled neighbor and when the job was done they put the cars back in their original spaces. They cleaned constantly throughout the process. Living in a row home meant most of the trunk had to be carried out through the house. They handled that part just as well. Do read your contract, they spell out many specifics like how much of the trunk of our tree could be cut down because it had begun to grow into the fence. This should make clear your expectations. Neighbor and I had a tree and stump removed. A few days later, they sent someone out to concrete the hole. Cement contractor left the pour form supported by boulders street side along with two pylons. Contacted Mercado 2x by phone and once by E-Mail to have it removed. It has been 3 weeks and still, no one has responded. Poor customer service, not a live person to answer the phone. Very disappointed. read more

After being frustrated chasing 4 different tree companies to remove a large beech tree, none of which showed up, I called Mercado. They set me up with an estimate window, of which they used all of the window. I received an estimate via email the next day and a start day. I contracted with them and gave an online deposit. They showed up that day at 8:30, everyone went to work right away and knew their job throughout the project. They are a very professional and capable crew, even bringing wheel pads for the crane so as to minimize damage to my yard and cleaning up completely before leaving, awesome job. I was very disappointed by the service of this business. I had contacted them to have someone come out to my property to provide me a quote/estimate. They told me the person would get here between 10-5pm. I waited and it was getting close to 5pm, but no one came. So I contacted them and they told me that they are busy and the person is still stuck in another location, so they will reschedule me for the next day. The next day, I contact them in the morning to get a time of when I should be expecting their arrival and they said 12-5pm. Again, I waited but no one ever came...horrible service, no updates, and unreliable. read more

We ran into some unforeseen issues but Will was quick to come up with solutions and complete the project in a timely fashion. I hired them for a landscape and cement job. Everything was great at first everyone was on the same page, then I notice that some of the concrete work was sloppy and cracking and that they cracked some of my pre-existing concrete with the heavy equipment. When asked about it, the reply was that the concrete was old. I also hired then to landscape the yard, we have a yard full of weeds and it looks a mess... waste of money... overall not happy. I was originally going to write a wonderful review for Mercado regarding their tree removal service. We had a large tree removed from a small street and they were responsive, polite and did a wonderful job with cleaning up afterward. We were going to use another service (MARK) to fill in the concrete block where the tree once stood, but Mercado said that they also fill the concrete at an additional cost. They cost more than MARK, but we figured that it would be easier to use the same company for both services. They filled in the concrete block, but did not put up any type of barrier and almost immediately someone accidentally walked over the block and left footprints. We called to ask if they would smooth it out, they said no and that they're not responsible for what happens during the drying time. I understand if that means people who write their names in wet cement, etc, but the footprint would have been prevented by a simple barrier. They explained that the contract said that we are responsible for the upkeep and the upkeep means that we are responsible for putting up our own barrier during the drying time if we want to protect it. We wrongly assumed that anyone working with wet cement would take enough pride that they would do something simple such as putting up a barrier to protect their work - similar to how painters would put up wet paint signs. They seemed offended when I suggested that it would be helpful to put up a barrier to help protect their work and she replied that since I offered that suggestion, her suggestion to me was to learn how to read contracts. It was very insulting and we admit that we should have not assumed they would do the most basic simple preventative steps, and we were in the wrong based on the contract. Overall, if you use Mercado be sure to dissect their contract and question them on their wording to make sure you're on the same page. We are fortunate that nothing happened with the tree removal or if any damage would have happened during the removal - because with the way they treat something as simple as cement, I can't imagine how they treat any instance that may happen during a tree removal. read more

They installed clay brick pavers, a new concrete edging for the patio, which they also stuccoed, and replaced the majority of the surrounding concrete slab, which was crumbling.
