I have two cats. Both have been members for several years…read more I am having the most difficult time getting help this year. Every time I need help, the answers provided are not thoughtful. There seems to be a lack of tracking what issues my pet has, as well as what problems or barriers I have to providing care. I've had to announce on 3 different appointments this year how I an unable to provide for costs upward of $500 - ranging to thousands. I have to explain that my own health and healthcare are challenged with affordability. It makes no sense to have a customer explain this 3 times in 5 months - - but that is the outcome of my 3 visits this year. I have a cat needing support for kidney's but we haven't addressed that because it takes an hour and in person appointment to get eye drops. So in essence, the discussion suffers each visit due to being forced to again explain that most of the options for testing this and that are well out of my price range. Meanwhile, the cat is aging and I should be focused on what I CAN DO for her. I really feel uncared for as a pet owner. I feel really frustrated having to explain my financial position to so many staff members. The reality of my income and costs won't change but they don't seem to have a place to note this in their files. Overall, I'd like to see Modern Animal use some technology to better help the customer - which is ME. I am coming to take care of my pets, and when they are sick I do not appreciate the process of getting care being so disheartening. The final straw was today. I let them know that I ordered food through amazon for my pet, which needs approval. Last week they said they are able to approve and I can reach out after placing the order. Today, after placing the order they tell me they do not work with amazon and so more steps are needed. WHAT A GREAT TIME TO TELL ME THAT INSTEAD OF LAST WEEK WHEN I FIRST ASKED. I can not explain how much stress and wasted time have added up over the past couple weeks. The chat is not that useful if you get different information from different staff. There seems to be no central "care hub" to address my animals needs, with allowing for a general note on limitations or exceptions that I have communicated multiple times. They say they don't try to shame you. But I took a lot of time explaining that having to re-explain it with each visit and with each issue my pet has, is exactly that - shaming.

I had a positive experience at VEG. I came in with my cat who was very stressed (hates getting in…read morecarrier/car) but had some kind of urinary issue. They took me in rapidly and the Doctor was very kind and empathetic to my nervous cat. They diagnosed his issue quickly and let me know it wasn't a complete crisis so that helped calm me down. They did a blood and urine draw which went very smoothly given how nervous my cat was, and overall the doctor/nurses walked me through all the steps very honestly and openly with estimates provided at every step which was very appreciated. As a layman I cannot say how much of the tests they did were strictly necessary and what was nice to have, but doctor explained everything very thoroughly so I left feeling like it was pretty reasonable. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because although I arrived around 7 when it was pretty empty, by 8-9PM when my cat was getting his draws and test results, the place became a lot busier and the doctor couldn't attend to me as much, so I ended up not being able to leave until around midnight, including at least one period of over an hour where I was just waiting around. But I can't really blame them that much-- I was in a private room because my cat is skittish so I didn't see, but when I left I saw the place was a total zoo with lots of people, so I think they were just overwhelmed. Overall -- very good service. Bill was a bit high, but they gave me options and walked me through every step with estimates for my confirmation. Only downside was longer wait time as the night progressed.

I was somewhat apprehensive because they took Winston to be examined without us (I've always been present during vet examinations). This would be the only negative we experienced. We didn't wait too long and were met by Dr. Vu (Emergency and Critical Care). She was kind and capable. She was patient with my many questions, and was warm, and caring. We had to leave our sweet Winston while they did more tests (ultrasound, possible tissue biopsy) and we returned a few hours later. She gave us the devastating news that there were significantly abnormal findings all over his lung, stomach and pelvic bones. It appeared to be cancer. Pricing seemed to be on par with emergency vets in Los Angeles. Ultimately, we decided to take Winston home so he could peacefully go over the rainbow bridge with all of us at his side. Just a few days later, we received a beautiful sympathy card and bouquet.

I was worried that she might have a luxating patella (dislocated kneecap). Although it wasn't a life-threatening emergency, it was the weekend, so we had no choice but to visit the ER. The wait was much longer than I expected--we waited about three hours. At one point, I was thinking that I probably wouldn't come back here again because of the long wait. However, everything changed after we met Dr. Ino. Dr. Ino was incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate. He performed a thorough examination of Nami and took the time to listen carefully to everything I had observed and was concerned about. By the time she was examined, Nami had stopped limping and was acting like her normal, energetic self again. Dr. Ino felt that she looked okay and recommended close observation instead of unnecessary treatment. What impressed me most was not only his medical knowledge but also the way he treated both my dog and me. He listened carefully, addressed all of my concerns, and provided thoughtful advice without making me feel rushed. His professionalism, responsibility, and genuine kindness gave me so much reassurance. I left feeling extremely satisfied with the care we received. Of course, I hope we never have another emergency, but if we ever do, I would absolutely return here and specifically ask for Dr. Ino to care for Nami again. Thank you, Dr. Ino, for taking such wonderful care of our girl.

We have just reached 1 year post-op for TPLO…read more I wanted to wait a year to leave a review, as to be very thorough in our experience with Sevilla. Dr Pedraza and the staff at Sevilla were amazing throughout our entire TPLO journey with our dog, Rose. From Consultation to our Last Appointment- things couldn't have went better. We haven't had any major complications- except those to be expected during recovery. If you're reading this review, look no further. Getting TPLO with Dr Pedraza and restoring your dogs quality of life is money well spent. I implore anyone who is committing to TPLO to do as much research as possible about the recovery process. Watch YouTube, TikTok, use ChatGPT/Google for any & all questions, no matter how dumb they may seem, and join the many Facebook groups of owners who are currently going through TPLO or have been through it and are still active there offering tips and advice. It will help you tremendously to be armed with as much knowledge as possible to make the recovery smooth & successful. All the best in your journey.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, the place clean, spacious, and well arranged. Upon meeting Dr. Pedraza, I was impressed by his positive energy and sensitivity to my Stella. He explained all the choices of different approaches to the surgery and said the spay could be done as soon as the next day. After the successful procedure, the staff gave me some medication for Stella along with clear instructions on how to care for her to insure proper healing. And Dr. Pedraza had even flushed her eyes to reduce the red staining around her eyes - included in the cost of the spay, which I must say was very reasonable! The consideration shown in follow-up a week later was so reassuring - Dr. Pedraza and the staff at Sevilla are a real gift to our community. Stella and I are so grateful for this happy first vet experience!
