Yelp Review for Dr. William Hovick's Office…read more **1/5 Stars** If you're looking for a doctor who actually listens, cares, and follows basic medical protocols, **this is NOT the place for you.** When I first visited this office, I was dealing with **severe, cyclical inflammation and pain** that left me **debilitated for two weeks every month.** I was actively seeking answers and relief, but instead of being seen by **Dr. William Hovick himself**, I was assigned a **nurse practitioner** who, to put it bluntly, seemed more like a **part-time clown than a medical professional.** After explaining my symptoms in detail, his response? **"Boy, you have a lot wrong with you."** - Really? That's the kind of dismissive, unhelpful comment you'd expect from someone completely unqualified--not from someone responsible for patient care. Despite my **clear and serious symptoms**, his only "insight" was that I was just **"getting old."** No real investigation, no concern, just an outright refusal to acknowledge that something was seriously wrong. Then, after **handing me a sample of Voquezna (a new stomach medication at the time), they FAILED to record it in my medical file.** Could you imagine if I had an allergic reaction and they had no record of what they gave me? That's basic medical malpractice right there. For **two years**, I **begged** for a referral to a specialist. They dragged their feet, ignored my concerns, and only after persistent pushing did I **finally** get referred. Now, under a specialist's care, I'm on **Celebrex and Sulfasalazine, and my pain levels are significantly improved.** So much for it being "just old age," huh? **Fast forward to today**--I was **8 minutes late** to an appointment due to road construction **right in front of their office** (which they should be aware of), and they **acted pleased to tell me that the "doctor" had already left.** Clearly, they **prioritize rigid scheduling over actual patient care.** ### **Bottom Line:** **This office is a perfect example of everything wrong with the healthcare system.** **They don't take patient concerns seriously, they fail at basic record-keeping, and they act dismissive instead of diagnosing real conditions.** **If you actually care about your health, find a doctor who does too.** **Avoid this place unless you enjoy being ignored, belittled, and misdiagnosed.**

I was applaud to see the staff being treated so poorly by the providers! They are people who are trying their best. Shame on you! The hateful remarks and tone that the receptionist had to deal with by her boss was absolutely ridiculous! How is this person allowed to treat patients? Who refers to their staff as "people like you"? I will absolutely find another place. I don't deal with racists!!!!

His staff set everything up (All I had to literally do was sho up for surgery)and they all were so kind to me whenever dealing with me. Pre-Op, Dr. Cook met with me and my wife at the hospital and assured us I was in good competent hands and he would take care of me. Surgery went smooth. Honestly, it could not have gone better. Minimal and only normal pain from healing. Doctor had already scheduled me to follow up with him at his office; his staff had paperwork already for me for returning to work when I was comfortable to return. Follow-up, Dr. Cook again treated me with a smile, put me at ease and very informally talked to me about final diagnosis and let me know he cared and if anything else was needed by him he was there. Absolutely a great person as well as a general surgeon or I wouldn't be making this long review of his great abilities and terrific practice! We are so lucky and I am forever grateful to have him in the CentroValley as a General Surgeon! I would recommend him to my family and anyone else who would need a great Surgeon. Thank you all so much for your treatment during my care. Can't say enough about this practice!

He checked in on me everyday while i was in the hospital and made me feel super comfortable. He didnt rush through anything like other doctors do. I was called back into a room and when Dr Frances Anne A White came in the first thing I said was that I'm there to have an MRI done, she immediately told me they don't do MRIs there. I told her I already had an orthopedic dr and we agreed there was nothing to have done and I left, she didn't examine any part of me and I though that was the end of it. But no, it turns out they want to bill be first $1,300 then instead $370 for telling me they didn't provide the service I was asking for. I called about the bill and dr Frances anne A White agreed she did nothing for me. But their billing department said that because I talked to the Dr, the bill was still due. I asked the girl if the human person in her told her that this was the right thing to do. If you are planning to go here realize that doing the right think is not their priority. Their priority is the money. If you've already been a patient, you need to ask yourself if that surgery or procedure they did and billed for was really needed or it was to cash in on your insurance or even you and your situation. Looking back I remember that these people didn't even tell me that my insurance would not pay them. Stay away from these low caliber medical facilities if you know what is good for you.

From the beginning, I expected a professional, diligent approach -- especially since my original implant surgery with another surgeon left my breasts with a clean, symmetrical finish and a well-done outline around the nipple area. In contrast, this experience felt careless. After the explant, I noticed that the nipples were not closed out with any attention to detail. The stitching was uneven and poorly done, and it seems like the surgeon completely ignored the original clean outline left by my previous doctor -- something that should have been very simple to follow. Now I'm left with deformed nipples and scars that look rushed and unprofessional. What's worse is the energy at my final post-op appointment. When he unwrapped the bandages, he looked at me and said, "This is what you wanted," in a very condescending and dismissive tone. That interaction made me feel like my choice to remove my implants was not respected -- like I was being punished for it. This has been physically and emotionally upsetting. I trusted this doctor to handle my body with care and respect, and I did not receive that. I strongly urge others to research thoroughly and ensure they're choosing a surgeon who not only has skill, but also compassion. I hope you DO NOT go to Dr. Lechtman for implant removal surgery. I should have been a lot more careful and considered the mistake he made 9 months ago to another client of his - please read her review as well. 1 STAR - A PATTERN OF INTIMIDATION, DISMISSAL, AND FAILURE OF BASIC CARE…read more I waited a long time before writing this review because I wanted to be fair and accurate. Unfortunately, after multiple emergency room visits, I feel an obligation to document what I experienced so other patients -- and leadership -- understand what is happening here. This was not one bad interaction or an overwhelmed shift. It was a pattern of deeply inconsistent care, ranging from truly exceptional compassion to behavior that was dismissive, intimidating, and completely inappropriate in a healthcare setting. THE STAFF WHO DID IT RIGHT It is important to acknowledge the individuals who genuinely embodied what emergency care should be: * Katie, RN -- Calm, compassionate, grounding, and professional during a severe panic attack. * Stephanie, BSN & Douglas, LVN -- Absolute angels. Consistently kind, attentive, patient, and humane across visits. * Matthew, PA-C -- Took the time to listen without judgment and treated me with respect. * Initial Security Team -- Treated me with dignity and kindness, helped me safely off the floor during a panic attack. * Alexandra Rogers, Phlebotomist -- The best blood draw experience I've ever had. Gentle, skilled, and compassionate. * Amber C., Patient Access Specialist -- Warm, welcoming, and grounding. * Third ER Visit Physician (MD) -- Truly exceptional bedside manner, professionalism, and advocacy. I am genuinely honored to have received her care. These individuals are the only reason this review is not zero stars. THE DISTURBING PART During my first ER visit, I witnessed a young boy experiencing crushing chest pain that went unaddressed for an alarming amount of time. His mother explained he had fallen while playing sports and the pain had worsened to the point they came to the ER. Watching a child in obvious distress without timely escalation was deeply upsetting. When I attempted to document events using voice-to-text, the response from staff escalated instead of de-escalated. * Anna, RN spoke to me rudely, told me to "sit down," and warned me not to record. * The interaction became confrontational rather than therapeutic. SECURITY USED AS INTIMIDATION Instead of calming the situation, Evan L., Security, was called. He told me I needed to "be respectful" or I would be forcibly signed out AMA without receiving care. His tone and presence felt punitive and coercive. Being threatened with loss of medical care while already in a medical crisis was frightening and inappropriate. Hospital security should exist to protect patients -- not intimidate them or threaten removal of care. A MOMENT THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN NECESSARY Later, as I was returning from my own EKG -- which was significantly worsened due to the stress of the earlier nurse and security interaction -- I saw that the boy with crushing chest pain was finally called for an X-ray. His mother and I shared a brief moment of relief that his pain was finally being taken seriously. It should not have taken that long. DENIAL OF BASIC HUMAN NEEDS During a severe panic attack, I repeatedly asked multiple staff members for water. No one brought me any. I only received water because a friend brought it from outside the hospital. Denying water to a patient in acute distress is unacceptable. ADDITIONAL UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT * Clarissa, ED Tech treated me disrespectfully and refused to tell me my weight after I requested it. * Alyssa, LVN rushed my discharge, provided no education, and failed to ensure prescriptions were sent. The pharmacy later confirmed they received nothing, including essential asthma medication. * Andy, PA-C appeared distracted, failed to provide water, refused to identify himself during a follow-up call, and hung up without resolving a medication issue. These failures delayed care and caused unnecessary stress. FINAL THOUGHTS This emergency department has outstanding individuals, but also serious systemic and cultural problems that cannot be ignored. No patient should ever: * Be intimidated by staff or security * Be threatened with removal of care * Be denied water during a panic attack * Be rushed out without education * Leave without essential medications I sincerely hope leadership and patient safety teams take this review seriously. Patients deserve safety, dignity, and compassion, especially in moments of crisis. 1 star
