Before my appointment, I read these reviews and got quite worried about going…read more My experience differed greatly from what others have reported, though this dental office was my only option going through Medi-Cal. I was seen very quickly after I arrived-- I didn't even finish my new patient paperwork before being called back. Once in the chair, the X-ray tech Sophia was very kind and communicative about what she was doing. The process was a quick and comfortable as possible. My dentist broke the bad news about my teeth in a kind way, as to not upset or shame me. She gave her best recommendations and relieved a lot of dental anxiety I had coming in. While this office is seen as a last resort for many, being so isolated in Scotia, please consider my experience along with the other reviews listed!

The nurse couldn't manage to take proper bitewing X-rays, so she just did a panoramic scan -- without even giving me a protective lead apron. The dentist couldn't find the cavity, and I had to literally point it out myself. I'm not the doctor, but it seemed like he didn't understand what was going on at all. I don't remember his name, but he spoke with a Filipino accent. They scheduled me an appointment two months later. I showed up on time, but had to wait two hours in the lobby and another thirty minutes in the chair. The nurse then suddenly told me I had a "huge cavity," even though at the first visit they said it was very small (and it still was small). She prepared to inject me with four syringes of anesthesia for a tiny spot of decay. I told her I didn't need that. Honestly, I should have left right then. When the same dentist finally came in, he said the cavity was small and would only take 10 minutes to fix. The "treatment" was awful. The nurse clearly had no idea how to handle instruments: she stabbed my gums with sharp forceps (it was cutting pain), shoved cotton deep into my throat causing a gag reflex, and even burned my tongue with the curing light. When they finished, I made the mistake of not checking right away. Only once I sat in my car and looked in the mirror did I see that the cavity was STILL THERE. Instead, they drilled the top of my tooth where there was no cavity at all! When I came back to complain, they tried to blame me, saying I "pointed to the wrong spot" and that I should have had bitewing X-rays (which the nurse had failed to take in the first place). In the end, they did work on the wrong area, left the actual cavity untreated, and sent me home. My tooth is shaved down and continues to decay. The nurse even lied to my face, claiming the dark spot "might just be pigmentation," while ignoring the fact that the tooth hurts in that exact place. This place is absolutely disgusting. Do not ever go there.

My review is only based on seeing Dr. Caroline Conner, which is why I'm giving more than 1 star…read more At my most vulnerable I've ever been Dr. Conner was the least compassionate doctor I have ever seen. I went to EFP due to a car accident I had (which I was not at fault for). I was on the job during the accident so I had to be treated through Worker's Compensation, and the sent me there. It was serious accident where I t-boned someone going 50mph because they didn't stop at a stop sign. I had sprained my ankle, but had incredible bruising all over. She prescribed physical therapy, which I went to for a number of months. My physical therapist was incredibly helpful, EPT Rehabilitation. There were a few issues I had with her. I had pain and numbness in my right hand and arm. I asked her about it and she acted like it was no big deal. She barely acknowleged it. When I went to EPT and told them about it they said it was due to my right shoulder taking in the most impact, which damaged the nerve bundle in my neck, which connected right through the path of where my pain and numbness stared and ended. Again, I brought it up to Dr. Conner and she did nothing. Luckily the pain has subsided, but often in times of stress it itches really badly. About 6 months into treatment Dr. Conner prescribed another 3 weeks of treatment, but it took well over a month for it to be approved by WC. I had another appointment with her before it was even approved. At that time she learned I had a lawyer. Who wouldn't after an accident like that? She actually came out and accused me of only trying to get money. She said I was fine and I didn't need any more treatment. Even though I was still waiting to see the PT from the last time she prescribed it. I told her about a spot in my back that really hurt. She pushed on it really hard, told me I was fine. My back was in even more pain from her pushing on it for TWO days! It was so frustrating and still is. I still deal with a lot of back pain. I feel if I were to receive appropriate treatment I might not be in as much pain as I am. I didn't care about the money. I was only 25 and wanted my health. To this day I get migraines related to the pain in my upper back and I have sciatica that comes and goes. It's been 7 years. I would strongly advise, if you go to Eureka Family Practice to stay away from Caroline Conner, and see someone else.

Let me start by saying I recently had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. 3 weeks ago while…read morein Mexico I pulled a muscle in my left shoulder. The pain was an 8 out of 10. I tried every OTC med there was and nothing helped at all except for ice, which was only barely effective. So I get back in town and see my physician dr korenstein at eureka family practice. I tell him I'm miserable, I can't sleep and my left shoulder is killing me. I tell him I've tried everything OTC. He gives me a med that doesn't help. I ask again and I get generic Alleve after telling him no OTC med works. Doesn't he listen? I ask again for help and I'm told that I need to go to the ER for help. WTF? What kind of patient care is that? I see this loser has 2 other negative reviews here. I used to like EFP but I'm done until they get rid of this douce.

Newer doctor there (new to primary care) seems entirely unfamiliar with Medicare requirements to include medical necessity on orders and prescriptions. Staff do not seem to be aware of coding requirements. The location is clean, pleasantly appointed and again, staff seem great, but God help you when you try to get billing or other help.
