I have gone here quite a few times but no more. It's not that their pizza and other food items are bad, they are pretty good. They are like most pizza places in Warwick- just ok. We don't have that one kick ass pizza place. But I digress. The issue here is service. The counter help is clueless depending who it is. I have to repeat my order multiple times on the phone and lately they can't seem to grasp "gluten free" pizza. I end up getting a regular pie or wait 30 minutes beyond their estimate. The counter help bumps into each other while the pizza maker guy is yelling in Italian. Pizza sit on top of oven and many cram into their small waiting area. They don't follow up and lose track of orders and people waiting. They really need to train their people and reengineer their operation. It's so inefficient and my time is worth more. Young lady at the front who takes your order has a miserable face, demeanor and attitude. Will barely make eye contact, throws your money and food around - makes it very clear she would prefer you to eat somewhere else. Also, looks like it was a manager - a man there was yelling at the top of his lungs on the phone - in what I think was italian. The pizza is not terrible - just mediocre. Decor is dated. Great Food. Friend and I order a large calzone, and the cook delivered big. The crust was crisp but not burnt, just the right amount of dough, fresh mozzarella and ricotta. Nothing was leftover. Service was good. Staff friendly. Nothing more to get out of a good pizza place. read more

The food is fine. But the customer service is poor. I just ordered a pizza slice and was sitting down to wait for it. The lady who served it to me asked who it was for when I said it was for me she threw it down on the table in front of me and walked away. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and Franico's is the closest thing to real pizza in Warwick. I always found the owners and the staff to be welcoming and respectful, and the food amazing. I've eaten there over and over again and have had them cater several parties. I am always happy with the quality and taste of everything they make. I think it has to do with the ingredients they use and how the sauce comes out. It's a beautiful reddish-orange color from blending the tomatoes with extra virgin olive oil. It's so delicious that I wish they offered it in a 20 ounce bottle. Any reviewer that gave it less than four stars either doesn't like good food or has a stick up their ass. If your not a snob and prefer good home cooked Italian food over overpriced garbage then go and eat at Franico's, you wont regret it. read more

I wish there were an option to give a rating of negative five stars. Yesterday, my 79-year-old mom went to Franico's in the Mitchell Corners Shopping Plaza in Warwick. She ordered a large pizza to go. The employee who took her order told her the pizza would be ready for pickup in ten to fifteen minutes. While waiting for the pizza, my mom did some shopping at another store in the Mitchell Corners Plaza and returned to Franico's approximately fifteen minutes later. When she entered the restaurant, an Italian man who owns Franico's started yelling at my mom. My mom asked him why he was yelling, and in reply he yelled, "You order a pie and then leave and I have to go chasing after you to tell you your order is ready?!" My mom replied (not yelling), "The girl who took my order said the pizza would be ready in ten to fifteen minutes. You didn't need to come chasing after me." The man scowled and pointed at a table by the door; atop this table was my mom's boxed pizza. In light of such horrible treatment of my mom, it is almost anticlimactic to comment on the quality of the pizza, but I will simply state that the pizza was cold, was not prepared as requested, and, in general, was bland. Neither I nor my family will ever support Franico's again. I feel bad for the young people who work at Franico's and are subjected to the meteoric tirades of the misanthropic owners. read more

Had FraNico's Fruit of the Sea on Wednesday night. Thursday and Friday had food poisoning that I would not want to wish on anybody. Obviously, in hindsight, should not order seafood dished in a place like this - but still - some accountability must fall on the owners/cook. ...As I was dying on Friday, the cable was being installed at my house. Went there last night- and I must add this is the 4th time I have eaten their pizza. Second time eating in at the restaurant. We ordered pizza. The sauce and the cheese were good, the crust, just awful. So tough that it would not bend, and I wanted a fork (which was not provided by a very disinterested waitress.). My husband and I went there this weekend and we loved it. We ate outside on their little patio and got pizza and wings. Some of the best I've ever had. Delicious NY style pizza - savory tomato sauce and high quality mozzarella - homemade Italian Sausage in slices on top ( They make their own sausage) ( not that crumbled crap) and a thin enough crust that is crispy and not doughy. The best in the area. I have lived in the area for 21 years and despaired of ever having really good pizza and then discovered Franico's. I noticed some reviewers here are put off by the owner. Let me say he is an "off the boat" Italian with a loud manner - being Italian descent myself this doesn't bother me. I know good ingredients and was able to see where he buys his tomatoes and cheeses etc - it is not the rubbery garbage that 2nd rate pizza joints peddle on top of cardboard crusts. So if you are not intimidated by an overly friendly somewhat crude in his comments pizza guy and want a delicious taste of the real deal - I highly recommend. I agree with a lot that Crissy H. had to say. This place can hang with the best of the pizzerias when it comes to specialty pies. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza and they topped it with a generous portion of chicken and didn't overload it with buffalo sauce. They speak Italian to one another while I was waiting which caught me off guard but that just added to the genuineness of the establishment's roots in Italian food. And to Brian M. and anyone else that compares this place to another Warwick pizzeria - You should know that Warwick has a large number of pizzerias and it's just about pointless to be picking specific places and comparing the two because they all have their own style of pies. Franico's just happens to make it the way I like it - The crust is a little on the crunchy side and when I hold the slice at the crust with one hand the whole slice doesn't droop down like a grease-filled sponge. Sat down in the restaurant and was placing an order for two pizzas when one of the waitresses started harassing an old man about how the bathroom there was for "customers only." He explained to her that another waitress had given him and his wife permission to use the bathroom. She proceeded to be very rude to the older man telling him "not to give her attitude" and took it as far as calling him an "asshole" in front of every customer. As him and his wife were quietly walking out of the restaurant she noticed them and said "yup, there's the door" in the rudest tone of voice. I then asked another waitress if I could speak to the manager because I was absolutely horrified at the way I had seen one of their employees treat an elder. They told "don't worry about it, he's in here all the time." Appalled, I walked back to the table and the waitress came over to me and said "mind your own business." I was so disgusted to the point where I refused to eat my food. I would highly recommend staying as far away from this place as possible. read more
