The outside of this facility looks great except for 1000 cigarette butts in the planters. I requested a handicap room and told there weren't any because they hadn't cleaned any of them. No house cleaners on duty that day. The hallways were dirty call my littered with debris that probably hadn't been vacuumed for a week. The door to my room was fitted so badly that you could see light all around the perimeter. At the top of the stairs, the fire alarm was disabled, no cover and no battery. The base of the toilet in my room was leaking water. The white bath mat had black stains on it I had driven quite a ways to arrive there, and hope to take a nap before dinner, but there was a guy leaf blowing right outside for what seemed like at least an hour, So napping was pretty much out of the question. Too bad, he blows all the cigarette butts into the planters instead of cleaning them up... I arrived at the breakfast room more than 30 minutes before the time breakfast was to end, and there were no eggs left, and none were produced. The bread was picked over and not replaced. Guys, it appeared to run the place were standing in the front room chatting amongst themselves, but didn't seem to care about he promised breakfast. There were almost no guests in the place, and I can see why. The price was reasonable and the place is convenient to the Highway 101, but the place needs a thorough cleaning, I question how sanitary it is, and they obviously don't Care about fire, safety, providing handicap facilities, nor providing the breakfast in its entirety. I chose this place over Other low-cost properties, because I thought that quality Inn had some standards, but apparently this property does not adhere to quality Inn standards. read more

Our genie garage door opener had been slowly giving up for the past year. Mostly working fine but occasionally struggling to open or close the door. Finally it gave up last Friday. Last night I was in such a hurry to leave I backed up into my garage door. As you can imagine this was an earth shattering moment for me and my garage door got stuck halfway open. I could not move my car out nor could I shut the door. I was in a panic because it was 7:30 at night. I fiddled with it a little and realized I could not fix it nor could I close it, and I came on yelp and frantically searched for a garage repair place that was open. I called Franco after my garage door hopped off the track on one side and bent one of the rails before I could get to the remote to stop it. What a racket it made! The old opener was about twelve years old, so I decided I should just replace it. Franco recommended a reliable brand of garage door openers, and after I had researched the different types of openers, I settled on a Chamberlain Belt Drive 1-1/4 Horse Power with battery backup. It also has the capability to link to your iPhone through your home WiFi, but I'm undecided if I want to use that option, so I have yet to set it up. Although Franco was not able to come himself, he sent two gentlemen to install the new opener and replace the bent side rail. It took quite some time, probably over three hours but the result was very professional. They replaced the opener, the track, balanced and lubricated the door and correctly tensioned the cables which they said was the likely reason for the door coming off the rail in the first place. During the work, they were careful to avoid damaging the wall-mounted kayaks next to the side rail they had to replace. They removed all the old parts and wiring from the previous sensors as I asked and mounted the wall remote perfectly centered above the light switch to the garage as I also asked. I could tell he balanced and measured to make sure it was perfectly straight. I really appreciated that! If the slightly misaligned smoke detector in our home hallway is any indication, to do otherwise would be a daily dose of annoyance for me and a nagging feeling of needing to remount it correctly. They also kept the gate closed as I asked so the cat wouldn't get out. The new opener is working beautifully and is eerily quiet compared to the old one. Called Alex to troubleshoot a self installed garage door lift. Scheduling was a bit challenging because he was working out of our local area (totally understandable) but once he arrived he got to work and rewired the door lift and two sensors in about 30 minutes. Our garage door was making awful noises, and someone pointed out that one of our springs was broken, so I gave Franco's a call.
