Door failed after two years of use. Originally I gave a stellar review but after my door jumped the track and got racked by the door opener, I remind my original review. The installer that replaced my door said that the side jambs should have been extended out to keep the door from "floating". Instead the door should have been gliding on the side door jambs. New door cost me $3600! read more

A&L has repaired our garage door over the years. They've replaced springs, installed a new garage door opener with battery backup and recently replaced our 40 year old door! It's just beautiful too. A&L is reliable, professional, and Luis is very skilled plus he answers calls quickly. We will always use A&L Garage Doors! read more

We had a damaged garage door and reached out to A&L to see about getting it replaced with a new insulated door. Luis was great to deal with, very knowledgeable and provided all of the information we requested. Once we chose a door they had us on the schedule for installation within a few days. The installation was quick and final product was excellent. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for any garage door repair or replacement work. read more

Luis is great. I tried several times to get Turbo garage door to do the work but they never showed after multiple attempts of contacting them. I called Luis and the job was done two days later. He gave me a quote over the phone, went out that same day to make sure of the parts then put the new door up. It's beautiful and he saved me a ton of money. I will never call anyone else. read more

I posted on Home Advisor a rather vague description of my garage door issue. Within 2 hours, I received a request from Luis to bid on my project. I provided my phone number and received a prompt call. Luis asked several spot-on questions that helped me explain the problem. He offered to stop by and look at it at around 10:30 am, and he was right on schedule. I thought I had a broken pulley, but he showed me clearly that both springs were broken. We discussed cost, and I agreed to have him do the job. Was done in about an hour, and even lubed the opener motor. Am happy that my door is fixed and I have a three-year warranty. I will be using this company again to replace the seal. read more

Ok, I finally get time to write this review. THEY ARE AWESOME. I called them at 11:30 pm as our garage door could not close. the owner answered the phone and the technician showed up in 45 min, fixed the door in less than 40 min. Thank you guys!!! That night was a life saver! read more

Had a door installed last month by a A&L employee. Installation went fine but was disappointed that only one controller was included. The guy wanted 40 bucks for another but said he would take $30 cash. I passed. The receipt had no business header. I phoned Luis the owner about the situation. Apparently its normal practice to offer a cash low-ball deal. Luis said he would mail me a proper receipt and another controller. Weeks later and nothing. I'm going elsewhere next time. read more

The spring broke on my garage door. I talked to Luis on the phone and texted him photos. Gene came the next morning and replaced the spring. Very friendly. Even changed the light bulb in my garage door opener and advised me to get a surge protector for it. read more

Very prompt and friendly service. Reasonable prices. My very old garage door has never worked better! I highly recommend A & L.

I called A&L this morning and Luis said they would by around noon. They were here about 11:30 and determined that my issue was the sensors were out of alignment making it necessary to override the remote closers to open/close the door. He showed me how to check and realign the sensors in the future and serviced the entire door and verified that the opener motor was in good shape. In the process of verifying the opening/closing of the door, he discovered that where the mechanism attaches to the door was broken and about to fail completely which would have resulted in major repair. He fixed it by adding a metal brace. read more

I had Luis come out to install a new spring on my garage door. He came out same day and had my garage door back up and running quickly at a VERY reasonable price! So I called him back and had him replace both of my parents garage door openers with new WiFi, battery backup models, and again he was prompt, and affordable! I will use them and recommend them from now on. read more

Someone backed in to my roll up door and dented the panels at my home in Healdsburg. Luis came over after work the next day and gave me a reasonable bid. He ordered the panels, they arrived in a few days and he installed that same day. Can't ask for anything more than that! read more

I wasn't even home and they installed, charged me over the phone, and did a great job! Very fair and trustworthy.

They had a low price. BIG mistake! The work was bad and when I called him back to fix it it was like pulling teeth!

Luis is amazing. We are a new construction and had a custom door built and was shipped with no springs or other equipment.....We had 3 garage door companies that all claimed they could do the work. None did. It was clear in working with these companies that they didn't understand the basics of how garage door springs work nor were they interested in thinking outside the box a little -- especially with a heavy door like ours. My husband is an engineer and did the calculations, called the spring company and had them made. Luis came in and worked for an hour and had the door running! Needless to say I'm very very pleased. He showed up, was clear on his concerns, asked tons of questions, made lots of suggestions. I highly recommend him! read more

It's Sunday and my garage springs broke. Gave Louis a called & he came out immediately the SAME DAY & took care the job! He is very professional, honest, knowledgeable, had excellent customer, & most of all his price is very reasonable! His work comes with a warranty! read more

Our garage door fell off the tracks over the weekend. I called a recommended garage door repair and left a message, Sat, Sun and again on Monday with no response. I then looked up and found A&L Garage Doors. I called and Luis answered the phone while at a job in RP. He said he was just finishing and would fit us in to help, between his next appointment. He was here and made the door safe so no one would get hurt, the door is now closed and we can use it manually until repair is done. We have scheduled a repair and are so thankful for his response to the phone call, his immediate response to our safety and his kindness. Thank you Luis. read more

A&L. Luis did a awesome job. Very knowledgeable fast and reasonable. Totally would have him out again if needed.

A & L Garage Doors were excellent. They came during off hour times and fixed my garage door. The work was so well I had them install a new Wifi garage door motor so that my garage is now wifi-enabled. The installation was flawless! read more

Our garage door broke at 10pm on Saturday night, we called A&L first thing Sunday morning and they set up an appointment that day. They arrived early and finished the repair in under an hour. The door works better than ever now. Thank you Luis for coming to the rescue on a Sunday! read more

Luis was great. Same day I called he came to Cloverdale. Was not pushy and stated: we will fix this before replacing the door! We were lucky because it was just a spring that broke. Not only fixed problem but serviced all parts! Thank you for prompt and efficient work ! read more

I bought a house with an ANCIENT garage door. Couldn't even lift the thing. To save some money, I ordered a new garage door from the Home Depot website, and my boyfriend was going to install it. When it finally arrived (months later), it was the wrong model (no windows). Home Depot said they would have to schedule a pickup, issue a refund, then I would have to re-order the same door that I had already bought. Insane! Instead, I decided to find a local company that could both provide a door and install it. I couldn't be happier with A&L Garage Doors! I emailed 6-8 companies and Luis was the first to respond (within the hour). We had a chat and he said he had a door that could be installed within a couple of days, all for a great price!! I wish I had started with A&L from the beginning. I got a better quality door, with professional installation (shout out to Matt), and it was well worth the extra money. I'm all for DIY, but for a garage door, just save yourself the hassle. And don't go with Home Depot. A&L is is the answer! Luis and Matt are my heroes. read more

I have to say that I was THRILLED with the work. Carlos (I think?) had all the right tools for the job, worked fast, fixed the door that was broken with a new spring AND serviced the second door (which had begun to stick, half way down!) He explained about what was wrong, how to take care, greased, tightened many bolts etc. We knew they were old doors, and he said 20 to 25 years old. I learned that we do NOT have to buy new doors! Yeah! and that one motor is nearing the end, and would need replacing when it breaks down again. I will definitely go to A & L for that. The only small problem was that he was late. However, he called Just after the due time, and came later. Excellent family business. read more

My garage door was off the rollers, I couldn't shut it, and needed it fixed that day for security. One company took 3 hours to let me know (when I called them back 2 times) they could do it in 3 days time! A & L showed up just a couple of hours after my call, didn't try to oversell me, was very honest and explained the problems and how it could definetly be fixed and at what cost. I was impressed with Luis for his candor and honesty, and moving forward, when I do need a compete replacement door, there's only one company I will call. read more

We recently purchased a garage door through A & L. Luis was such a great help in guiding us in our puchase. He and his crew did a great job on the instalation and he even helped move our canoe out of the way. We love the new door and would diffently recommend his services. read more

This company put in a new door for me years ago and did a good job at a fair price. Tonight, at 7 pm in a torrential downpour, my door became stuck in the open position. I called, and he was happy to come over and fix it right away! I thought that went above and beyond. I am impressed and grateful. read more

Our garage door needed repair. I called a couple companies but did not get to speak direct to a person. On my third call to Luis he answered the phone, was very courteous and we made an appointment. We had just moved into this house. When Luis came he diagnosed that the door had not been cleaned or oil. We had thought something major and it was just a maintenance problem. Luis is very helpful, and knowledge and we really appreciated getting to know him and have him repair our garage door. Definitely will use him again if we have any more problems. read more

The owner Luis was great! He was very accommodating when it came to working around my schedule. He did an awesome job in fixing the springs on my garage door. He even went above and beyond and did some extra repairs at a very low cost. He was very pleasant. I would recommend A & L Garage Doors to anyone who is looking for a company who does a great job, and at a very reasonable price! Thank you Luis! read more

Great service. Broken spring on Sat fixed the same day . Will recommend A&L Garage Doors. Thank You Luis

I was thrilled when I called A & L on Saturday morning (after getting a referral from a friend) and Luis was at my house giving me an estimate just 25 minutes later. He gave me a quote that I felt was a good one- and said he could come on Monday. I explained that I work in Healdsburg- but could come home to Santa Rosa on my lunch hour if the repair was going to be quick- as he said it would be. We scheduled an appointment for Monday at noon. I came home from work a little before noon. I waited... and waited... and waited... A couple of hours later I called him (and was very nice!)- and he explained he had gotten called to an emergency job and was in Petaluma- but would be heading over in 15 minutes. I told him it wasn't a problem- and that I'd look forward to seeing him soon. Then I waited... and waited... and waited... I called again at 5- and he didn't answer. He hasn't returned my message. I'm a very understanding person- and all it would have taken was a follow up call- but I didn't get that- I heard nothing from him. I am not one to write a nasty review- but the lack of customer service or appreciation for someone else's time- is completely rude and unacceptable. Nothing is more frustrating than having someone waste a half of your day- when you are taking time off work and are expecting to get something taken care of. My garage door is still broken- and now I have to take time off tomorrow to meet with another company. Very annoying. read more
