With my long-loved hairdresser having recently moved to London, I was on the lookout for a new hair stylist. Within a year, I had painstakingly visited at LEAST three different hairdressers, yet still wasn't left totally satisfied with any of them, until of course, I found Franck Provost in Mosman. My long-long search was finally OVER.
This salon feels professional, efficient and comfortable without any pretentiousness. I was greeted by a lovely French lady with a big genuine smile who did her best to look after me. She sat me down, offered me coffee, tea (I took the champagne) and a stack of magazines that were a luscious mix of both gossip trash and high-brow French fashion. As I settled in, I was then greeted by an lovelier French man who seemed to have a knack of knowing EXACTLY what I wanted. He then proceeded to speak French to the stylist assigned to me (after he endearingly and politely asked my permission first). Instinctively, I knew I was in safe hands, as opposed to the other nightmarish times I'd experienced at the many other salons. I'm talking about that instinctive niggling feeling you get when something is off kilter and you're quietly nerve wracked about the outcome. Not here. I felt utterly comfortable in this salon and the French staff that looked after me were just so l-o-v-e-l-y.
To be surrounded by French accents, french magazines and champagne made me feel as though I could've easily been in a Parisian salon instead of on the main drag of Mosman (I'd always take the former). As I'm the type who enjoys immersing myself in quiet reading time when I'm at hair salons, as opposed to swapping life stories with stylists, I found there was just the right amount of casual chit-chat between myself and the stylist. She was extremely professional and her impeccable service went beyond my expectations.
All up, my treatment took 4 hours (full-head of highlights, treatment, blow-dry & GHD straightening - though keep in mind my hair is quite long and torturously thick) but every minute was worth it as I was well looked after. I left feeling as though I'd finally found a pot of hairdressing gold at the end of the rainbow and there is no doubt that I will be back here again. read more
