TERRIBLE rude receptionist who put my husband's health, life, and safety at risk. My husband had an episode of disorientation; we called his PCP who said they could not get him in today but that he needed to be evaluated in person and get scans within a 48 hour window or he could be in serious danger for stroke. (Unfortunately due to other reasons it took almost 2 days to establish this info so we were within 5 hours of this deadline by now.) His PCP doctor sent us specifically to Franciscan Urgent Care. When we arrived, I quickly explained the situation to the desk staff, starting with that his PCP had sent us directly there and said it was time sensitive. The first thing this woman said, already condescendingly, was "well if he's not having symptoms now we can't do anything. He needs to *establish care with a PCP* and get evaluated by them." I explained for a second time that he already has a PCP and that they sent us to urgent care (which I had already stated quite clearly). The woman proceeded to - "well, his doctor was wrong. If he's not having symptoms right now we can't do anything. He needs a PCP for evaluation." I again said he HAS a PCP and that they said he needs to be evaluated *in person* by a doctor today and likely get scans before the 48 hour window closes. The woman again said they at urgent care couldn't do anything and we should schedule with his PCP. (Who, again, had already told us that they could not see him within the critical time window and he needs urgent care.) I said, okay, I understand. Should we go to the ER? At this point she got more combative and said "well you can't just walk into an ER and announce you're there to get scans. You need insurance authorization for scans which is why HE NEEDS TO GET EVALUATED BY HIS PCP." I again told her I understood that, but again that he would not be able to see his PCP today and that his own doctor had advised us to be evaluated in person within this critical 48 hour window. I said I understood we could not just walk into the ER and demand to have scans done. I asked if an ER doctor would be able to perform an evaluation to get a referral for a scan. I should mention I was very calm and polite throughout all of this. At this point she put on her biggest "dealing with difficult people smile" and informed me "Look, I have told you several times, but if you won't listen to me, then you can just go ahead to the ER and have them tell you the same thing I'm telling you. So why don't you do that since you won't listen to me." Like .... ?!?!?!? We were in a time sensitive medical situation, the repercussions of which could be lifelong disability or DEATH. I don't know if this woman was intentionally misunderstanding me or just incapable of basic comprehension, but either way she made it her mission to dress me down and be as unhelpful as possible because apparently putting us in our place was more important than my husband's life. (And I don't even know how we could have offended her in the first place in the few-sentence interaction I described above. She seemed to make the immediate assumption that my husband didn't have a PCP and therefore is a lower class of human being - despite the first sentence out of my mouth being "my husband's PCP sent us here." And side note, I find it extremely unlikely that an urgent care doctor couldn't have done the same evaluation that was done an hour later by the kind and responsible staff at St Anne emergency department. But this gatekeeper at the urgent care front desk wouldn't even let us talk to an actual member of the medical staff. If you want to be treated with basic human decency and have your medical concerns taken seriously, do NOT come to Franciscan Urgent Care, where the receptionist apparently knows more than the medical professionals and won't be told otherwise. read more

I had excellent care here in April 2022 for an injured hip. The MA and PA were attentive, careful listeners, and thorough in their assessments. The receptionist was efficient and friendly. Five months later-now- I had excellent IT help by phone guiding me through the patient portal setup that I'd neglected to do at the time of the visit. Then I returned to the clinic to request my X-ray (to take to an upcoming orthopedic consult) and I was treated with great courtesy and efficiency again, by receptionist and then MA or radiology tech (not sure of his title) on 9/7/22. The clinic setting is beautiful. I would not hesitate to return here myself or with a family member. read more

I am physician in California and my mother called me because she had acute onset knee pain with redness/swelling to the point that she couldn't walk all of a sudden and she didn't have any preceding injury/trauma. Hearing this, I was concerned for possible septic joint (aka infection) or septic bursitis and told her that she should go to the ER for evaluation. However, due to long wait times my brother took her to this urgent care instead. He then told me that a doctor prescribed oral steroids to help with inflammation, otherwise no other work-up was done. I was very confused at this management since giving steroids for an acute knee pain did not make any sense, since she does not have a history of arthritis, and steroids can be dangerous in the setting of an infection. I asked my brother to send me the discharge paperwork. Turns out the person that my mother saw was NOT a physician, but a nurse practitioner named Mark Erikson. I have no issue with nurse practitioners, but it is VERY misleading to introduce yourself to the general public as a doctor when you are indeed not a physician. A 'doctor of nursing' is not equivalent to an MD or DO (aka someone who went to medical school for 4 years and then 3+ years of residency training). read more

Wish I could give zero stars. There's absolutely nothing "prompt" about this place, even when you have an appointment scheduled. Find a different clinic. Had a COVID test scheduled at this location before an upcoming surgery. Was scheduled at 12:20 and didn't get in until 1:10. Initially, they had me wait in my car due to the busy wait room and said they'd call me. After 40 minutes of waiting and watching others come in + out of the clinic, I went in and the lady at the desk acted like I didn't have an appointment. After reassuring her that I had already checked in, she said I'd be up next and after another 10 minutes of waiting they FINALLY got me in. And I did the swab myself- (which is totally fine) but did not help my frustration with the situation. I've literally never had to wait this long for a pre-existing appointment, or an urgent care visit for that matter. VERY thankful this was a one time trip, this clinic is a joke! read more

1. Check in not private and it was necessary to tell the front desk person all my business within hearing of others. 2. Check in staff irritable with my privacy concerns, as well as people being checked for COVID sitting in the communal waiting room. 3. Wait of over 1 1/2 hours before seeing the doctor. You are not allowed to leave the premises for "liability" reasons. 4. Doctor recommended the ONE medication that I have a noted allergy to. The medical assistant had even confirmed this before the doc met with me. 5. The doc called my medication in to an unknown pharmacy, so my pharmacy had to contact the insurer to see where it was sent and get the scrip released. As of now, it has been several hours since my visit and I can't get my antibiotic. Lame The medical assistant was great, and at least if I'm lucky I will get an antibiotic today. Complained of dizziness, cold and a top head headache. Waited 3.5 hours until I was seen. They recommended I go to the ER. Seriously, waited 3.5 hours for nothing. Do not go here. One doctor on duty. Really bad and will not go here again. read more

I went to prompt care this evening and the provider wanted to get an X-ray. The technician left at 4pm. She said oh you can come back tomorrow. Why would you have a clinic that provides X-ray's but not have a technician staffed until closing. I would not recommend this clinic. It really doesn't even deserve one star! read more

3 months later, I still can't get a bill out of Franciscan Prompt Care from the original visit, even though insurance has settled and I know what my portion is. They are completely unresponsive to asks for help in getting wrong MyChart information cleared up so I can access my bill there. I've tried three times and heard zero. I've called their billing department and they say a bill will arrive in ten days and doesn't. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. They have front desk staff that talks to you like you're an idiot. The x-ray technician told me to take my bra off but didn't offer a place to take it off with privacy until I asked for one. The doctor had nasty unkept finger nails and clog shoes that were falling apart on all sides. The real kicker was when the doctor prescribed me Robitussin and told me to take honey and hot water after I've been coughing so hard I'm breaking blood vessels. Save yourself and go to a real ED. This place is horrible. If all you need is a covid test they can handle it even though you can get them for free everywhere. If you go in now and have any covid symptoms ALL they will do is the test. They don't tell you that up front! Then you can't go to any other dr the same day because insurance won't cover it. This is a horrible way to treat sick people. Also for the last several visits they don't even have dr's on staff. All they have are nurses. read more

I need to balance this rating out a bit. I received fantastic care here. I waited a little while to check in, but I was in and out in about an hour total which seemed pretty "prompt" to me! Fantastic MA, nurse, and doctor. I would recommend this place to anyone. And most importantly.... they fixed me! The actual facilities are new and quite nice. I have used them twice in the past few months. Each time I didn't wait more than a half hour to be seen. Very thorough. Would use them over and over if needed. They are not permanently closed as others have reported. read more

To be prompt care they aren't really prompted. I say her for an hour and wasn't seen. Do people not work here and the people behind the counter you can overhear all of their unprofessional conversations. If you're wanting to be seen after two hours of waiting then go here, however if you want actual prompt care go somewhere else. Mind you it was only myself and a man sitting here waiting people slowly trickled out but still I sat waiting to be seen. read more

I had to go to the prompt care on Saturday and I was very happy with the care that I received. The waiting room was fairly empty and I was called back within a few minutes. I ended up having to go to the ER and they called ahead for me that really helped my check in process in the ER go very quickly as well. read more

Zero stars. They wouldn't even see me. My doctor is private practice and has been unreachable due to snow for over a week. I came here to try and get a doc to see me to refill a med I've taken every day for over 3 years now. Which they can verify in their system very easily. They said, nope sorry, you don't have established care with us. It's urgent care! Why would I have established care with them? They told me to waste the ER's resources and go there. To an ER.
