Two years later and Soul Fitness Mind Body Studios continues to be my home away from home…read more From hot yin classes to restorative reiki classes - there is no studio with more options or more caring staff. Schedules get updated every season and the fabulous owner, Lisa, is constantly evolving her studio to include new and innovative methods. A new one this past year is the Karuna yoga class. Karuna is sanskrit for compassion. This class is my absolute fave (well, maybe after Reiki Yoga with Tammy!). The Karuna class utilizes nubby massage balls to help release tight and sore muscles and work into he fascia. It's all about listening to your body and having compassion for yourself and your yoga practice. Soul Fitness offers drop in classes, unlimited passes, and 50 class punchcards that can be shared within a family or corporation. Also - props to the hot tea from The Tea Place which changes up everyday :-) I was there yesterday and I'll be back tonight because it is that good!

She adjusted my poses to keep me balanced and also provided chairs to lean on when doing the crossover poses (I have balance issues and yoga was recommended to help improve my balance by my physiotherapist). The instructor of the class also demonstrated different poses to accommodate the needs of all the students. I was so impressed with the studio and the class that I immediately purchased an unlimited two week pass. Lisa provided me with a class schedule which had classes almost every day that I could attend. I would highly recommend Soul Fitness. Lisa and the instructors were very accommodating to my needs.

His approach -- combining acupuncture with tai chi energy movement -- is unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere. After Covid pulled us apart, I lost touch. My knee has been bothering me so I understand from Gord it is my quads needing serious attention from ME, myself - so much gratitude for being guided back. to him in this time! The needles? Yes, they hurt. But in Gord's expert hands, the discomfort is purposeful -- and the results speak for themselves. He has a true calling: to heal those who find their way to him. I left feeling grounded, restored, and genuinely cared for. The space itself carries its own energy. Walking into College Plaza, I was immediately struck by the warmth -- plants everywhere, and the beautiful stained glass that once graced the previous entrance now installed here, casting that same gentle, welcoming light. As someone who has a personal connection to this building going all the way back to the mid-80s, stepping in felt like coming full circle. If you are guided to Gord, trust it. The healing is real. I I had been feeling run down and depressed and immediately after I noticed an improvement in my energy levels. But the big thing I noticed was my mood was better. It was if I had been in the dark and now the sun was shining again. It was pricey, but worth it to feel so much better. I connected with Gord on a personal level too, as we are both gardeners, a bit eccentric in our views and in favour of alternative wholistic practices.

For myself I have seen two of the practitioners there and thoroughly enjoyed my experiences. I saw Dr. Amber McKinnon for naturopath services. She is a very kind Dr who is very knowledgeable in her field. She offers various treatment modalities, acupuncture, nutrition, etc. I had testing for dietary allergies which has made a huge difference for me in my health. She has provided me with lots of information on holistic health options as well as acupuncture treatments. I also see Valerie Plante for acupuncture. She is very knowledgeable in treatments from Japanese, Chinese medicine and other treatment modalities. I always leave her treatments feeling very balanced and relaxed. She is a very intuitive lady and provides a very relaxing treatment environment. Overall, the office staff are very friendly, they always have tea and filtered water for customers and it is a very calm environment.

Do NOT book unless you want to be interrogated about your sex life by a complete stranger in a…read moreprofessional setting. This was the weirdest and WTF massage experience of my life. I was recommended this place by a few coworkers. My favourite massage therapist is ill and can no longer work. I booked an appointment with this place and was told to book with Kara. Done. First of all the massage started 15 mins late. She took me to my room and had me wait on the bed for that long before she came back. Within 5 mins of her starting she asks me about me sex life. I was very stunned! She didn't even apologize or backtrack, she was totally serious about it. She then proceeds to share inappropriate things about her own and goes into explicit detail. I really didn't know what to say or do at that point so I froze. I went in for a 45 min massage and came out 80 mins later due to her constantly talking and not tracking time. I even told her I had to leave soon in hopes that she'll speed up but didn't happen. It wasn't until I got off the table that she clued in that I needed to leave. The good thing is that she didn't charge me extra but that's about it. She also did not know how to properly navigate her own computer so tracking insurance took forever too. I am still in utter disbelief with my experience. I have never ever experienced unprofessionalism to this extent. I'd understand a bit better if I were a long term client and friend however, I was a FIRST time client. Sad thing is this is one of the owners. I have spoken to a few people who have been there and have said they aren't surprised and have had similar experiences. I guess she does this normally. A former employee of the business also said they are very unsanitary and do not change the bedding in-between clients or sanitize the place. YUCK! It's a shame because she does seem like a nice person and was good at the massage.
