But Dr. Hens made the experience easy. My comfort was constantly monitored. They have blankets and pillows. Throughout the procedure, they checked in with me regularly.. Explanations and warnings for every sensation. I did not experience any pain, which is rare for me as Novacaine tends to wear off quickly on me. And from the evaluation to the completed root canal, I never doubted the expertise of the staff and Dr. Hens. They have this cool 3-D image thing and they do the x-rays in your chair so it is much simplified. She also takes the time to explain everything and answer all your questions. I never felt rushed. I have been putting up with a lower standard of care for far too long and I highly recommend this office if you have any insecurities or fears or hesitations about the work you need done. I was told by the dentist that pain proved I needed a root canal. I was also told the endodontist on staff there did not do evaluations. That was not the kind of care I want. I need more than just a flippant explanation. We were talking about removing and excavating a nerve from my head, which happened to be in my molar. So I sought out an endodontist to evaluate my tooth pulp. Dr. Hens was very thorough and I felt comfortable and certain that I needed the root canal after visiting her. It was not about sales. A male employee sitting next to her abruptly interjected into my conversation with the young lady assisting me by telling me to explain it to him. After I explained my request, he repeatedly stated, "The consultation fee is the consultation fee, and the procedure fee is the procedure fee." Despite explaining several times that I was simply following the suggestion of the scheduling staff, he continued challenging me and questioned whether I had obtained that person's name. What I found particularly offensive was his condescending tone, dismissive facial expressions, repeated interruptions, and overall disrespectful attitude. His behavior was unnecessarily confrontational, leaving me feeling belittled and humiliated simply for asking a question. I finally requested the office manager, who offered to ask Dr. Cameron about applying the fee. The male employee attempted to discourage her TWICE, insisting that the doctor was in a procedure. Thankfully, she proceeded anyway and returned with Dr. Cameron's approval to apply the consultation fee toward my root canal. The very request this employee repeatedly dismissed was approved by the doctor! I had every intention of scheduling my procedure with Dr. Cameron, who had previously performed a root canal for me. My experience with him had been positive, and I trusted his work. Unfortunately, I could not, in good conscience, return after being treated so disrespectfully by this employee. I appreciate the office manager's professionalism and Dr. Cameron's consideration. However, it's unfortunate that a practice with a skilled doctor can lose a returning patient because of one employee's behavior. Dora at the front helped me set up this appointment and she spoke excellent English and Spanish. Most of the staff speak both languages, so if you're nervous about communication, I wouldn't worry about it if you don't speak Spanish. They are very organized and communicate quickly via email and WhatsApp. They offer a shuttle service pick up, which is easy. As soon as you cross the border, the pick up area is right outside the gates and the pharmacy. The driver gives you about a 10-minute grace period for your pick up appointment. However, if you miss it for whatever reason, the uber is under $5 to get to the office. For your appointment, you receive a QR code which you will scan to get through to the elevators. The QR code will only work 15 minutes before your appointment. This is to manage the amount of people in the waiting room. There is still a seating area in the first floor if you're early. Dr. Alexandra performed my cleaning and she was super nice. There is a TV on the ceiling and they even ask about your favorite music to have it on while they work on you. This was the most at ease I've felt at the dentist.

My case was a nightmare on paper: a failed root canal with curved, L-shaped canals, broken file instruments left inside, and a leaking crown that had been causing ongoing issues. Every specialist I consulted in the States either declined outright or quoted an outcome they weren't confident about. Dr. Alex took one look at my X-rays and , explained exactly what he was dealing with, and said he could helpo. What set him apart was his thoroughness and honesty. He didn't rush. He didn't cut corners. He was upfront that this would take significantly more time than a standard re-treatment -- and he delivered on that. I will say that for 300.00 pesos for the consultation (approximately 15 USA Dollars) she can take X-ray of your immediate issue and refer you to a specialist where needed. The X-Ray is included in the 300.00 M.N. fee. I found her to be pretty helpful and efficient enough to refer me to specialists for the work I need done. She was very thorough and explained my options adequately. She referred me to a few other locations for dental (full mouth) Xray's and a couple other endodontists. I will continue my general work with her as I found her to be pretty honest. I rate her 5 stars and WILL recommend her to others for sure. Great place to begin your Dentist Quest.
