I've been to Francine's Beauty Bar a few times now since making it my new salon in my new home, Maryland. What I really love about the salon is it's great atmosphere, and more importantly, I'm always in and out. I go to the owner, Trina, and she's a doll. I started coming here in June 2018 and I go to Joslyne! She's amazing!! I leave extremely happy every single time! I was recommended to Francine's Beauty Bar and just happen to sit in Joslyne's chair. I'm glad I made that decision. I've been a happy person since. Of course the long long wait can be so stressful that's one reason I don't frequent any hair salon often. I don't have the patience for the long wait time especially when you have a long day ahead of you. Anyways, I recommend going to her she's great. She loves to cut and she styles really well. Her niece helps prep all her clients and she's nice too. Overall they always have the good tunes playing and everyone is very friendly. It's not loud and you don't hear anyone cursing or acting boisterous in the salon. They are super professional. One thing I love about Joslyne is the fact that she takes Venmo or Cashapp too! So easy and reliable! Love going to her! She's great!!! I can't stress that enough. She colors, cuts, styles, she does everything! If she can't do it I'm sure she'll tell you, but definitely speak up and voice your opinion if something doesn't look the way you envisioned it. Well Groupon, you've done it again! You've turned me on to a new location to get manicures and pedicures. Had it not been for Groupon, I would've never noticed this salon. It's located on Old Annapolis Road and if you don't know the area or rely on your GPS, you won't find it. It's in a strip mall where the Cetrone's Pizza was located...right down from the Bowie MMA Martial Arts School. If I'm not mistaken, an ethnic food store sits in front of it and blocks the view of the salon from the road. I called and made an appointment weeks in advance, because I figured it would be pretty busy. Good thing I did, because the nail technician, Tiffini, told me she had been really busy because of the Groupon special. I showed up for my appointment and noticed that the front portion of the shop has hairstylists doing hair and the nail station is in the back of the shop. I was greeted promptly by the owner of the shop. She was extremely friendly and walked me back to the nail station. Tiffani greeted me and got me started right away. Tiffani is such a sweet person and has a very pleasant demeanor. We held a conversation throughout my services and it wasn't forced. Besides the wonderful job she did on my hands and feet, what impressed me the most was how sterile her equipment was. For example, after my pedicure was complete (she also did really wonderful designs for my toes) she cleaned the foot basin like no other....I mean she literally scrubbed it! (And before anyone tries to go there, she didn't scrub it because of my feet because she personally told me I have pretty feet...so nah! lol) After cleaning it, she filled the basin up with hot water added some cleaner and cut on the jets to clean it thoroughly. That thing ran for a good 20 minutes. TRULY IMPRESSED!!! I was equally impressed on how she books her clients because when I came in, she was finishing up with her previous client. I didn't have to wait to be serviced and she got me out in a reasonable time as well. I'm not sure about her hours, but I do know that she's not at this location daily. I suggest calling the shop to book an appointment. It was a very positive experience and Tiffini did a wonderful job! I'm a fan! read more

I am so happy to have finally located a true beauty bar. More importantly there is someone specializing in wigs at this location! Finally...a beautician who arrives before me and gets me in and out so I can go on with my plans for the day. read more

This was more than a salon, this was an experience. No cattiness - everyone was warm and I felt very comfortable as a newcomer to not only the salon but to the state. They offer a lot of beauty-related services so you don't have to run all around to do hair, nails, eyebrows, etc. Bri did a wonderful wig install for me and I will definitely go back for another appt. soon. read more

I called and got an appointment which was great! I went in for a silk press, deep condition, and trim and it came out nice despite getting burned a couple times. It lasted about a few days of straight/flowing and usually when I get a silk press, it will last over a week. It all went down hill when I washed my hair and a section of my curly 4c natural hair was COMPLETELY STRAIGHT! I won't be coming back here. Very disappointed. read more

I attended the beauty bar for the first Time to get a rinse a trim cost me over 100 bucks. It wasn't worth it !!! Very disappointed !!!!

I had my hair styled by Trina. She accommodated a last minute appointment and did a great job. I was in and out in two hours. Trina was so sweet. The ambiance of the place was really nice. The conversation in the salon was fun. It wasn't all loud and ghetto like a barbershop. The music was appropriate. As I looked around the salon, all of the stylists were very talented. I got a perm, cut, and style for $100.00. You can't beat that!!! I got sooo many compliments and have referred three friends. read more

Tried to make an appt to use a groupon, it took 3 calls to get an answer and when someone picked up she was rude and raised her voice at me over the phone. The salon was closed on a Tuesday with no explanation, when their usual day off is Monday. I am very displeased and now attempting to return my groupons and get my nails done elsewhere. read more

I've been going to the owner of Francine's Beauty Bar since 2006! Not only is she knowledgeable about the latest and current beauty trends but her primary focus is maintaining the health of her client's hair. She will never sacrifice healthy hair for style! Trina is excellent with cute cuts & long hair but what I love best is her CUSTOM coloring, I get a TON of compliments on my hair- esp my custom blonde bob! On top of all that, she is the most professional stylist I have ever had- she is strict about her appointment book, I never wait crazy hours in her salon and most of all she genuinely tries hard to accommodate her clients! On several occasions I have also gone to Tiffany, the salon's nail tech. Just like Trina her services are nothing less than stellar! She does great gel manicures and her designs are carefully detailed, creative & innovative. I definitely enjoy getting pampered at Francine's Beauty Bar! read more

I meant to write this update a while ago. After about a month, my color was almost completely gone and only the blonde (my hair was bleached to show the color) was left. I got my hair done the day before Mother's day and the weekend of my birthday (mid-June), I had to add more color. I was not aware that the colors were basically just temporary rinses, that was not explained to me. If it is your first time being getting vibrant colors, just know that you will have to pay to get it redone every 4 - 6 weeks. They did a great job but if you decide to go this route, you should not only plan to pay the initial cost but the upkeep as well. read more

It's very hard to get a GREAT shampoo. Most girls just want to get the job done, without truly thinking of the satisfaction of the client. I have eczema of the scalp- in which my hair is normally VERY dry & itchy. Friday was my first time having my hair washed by Kiara- it was AMAZING!! She did my wash very smoothly, she didn't rush & she made sure my hair felt great before she prepped me for my style. I'm going to request for her to wash my hair each time I go.
