I cannot say enough good things about Cut Loose. I have been there twice now, and each time I have left thinking "this is the best cut I've ever gotten". Ever since I was a kid, I've been used to getting mediocre haircuts from salons that tended to be a little outdated. I've always thought that just a classic, good cut was the best I could get. But at Cut Loose, the stylists are young, cool, friendly, and very talented. I described what I wanted as best as I could, and what I got back exceeded my expectations 100%. Anyone looking to add noticeable layers and movement to their hair (what they do best, in my opinion) would be remiss not to give them a call. On top of that, the atmosphere is charming, I love their place. It's less stuffy and intimidating than other salons. And frankly, I'm not a huge one for chatting at the chair, but both of the girls I had were very personable and I found myself talking easily with them. All in all, a shampoo (that leaves my hair feeling PHENOMENAL) and amazing cut for $35? Cut Loose will not be losing my patronage anytime soon. While everyone I've met there has seemed incredibly friendly and capable, I highly recommend Rachel and Kayleigh(sp?) from personal experience. I have very long, thick hair and I am always nervous about going to a new place since I have had some bad experiences with other salons in the area, and I have never found a place I like enough to go back. The choices in my area are either really uppity or really dumpy. I had an important lunch to go to and desperately needed a hair cut. After reading some of the other reviews I decided to call and see if anyone could get me in. They were able to get me in on very short notice. Upon entering the salon I was greeted warmly by both the receptionist and my stylist Londa. I loved the atmosphere and the salon was upscale but not at all pretentious. I received a wonderful hair cut from Londa and she took the time to listen to me about my concerns. Everyone there was very friendly and the prices were great. They have definitely won me over and I will go back as well as recommend them to everyone I know . They do not have a website yet but I hear it's in the works. Keep up the great work. read more

I have very fine, dry hair that has been cut a number of bizarre ways over the last year and had pretty much fallen into complete disrepair before I decided to try and find a regular stylist. I was beginning to worry that there was no one who would actually be able to cut it as the last few people I've seen didn't do such a stellar job. I'm really glad I chose Cut Loose! Rachel cut my hair and did a fabulous job. She seemed very knowledgeable and I felt extremely comfortable with everything she did. All of the stylists and staff seemed very friendly. The salon was clean, cute and well-lit. The price was completely fair and felt like a bargain after having seen the difference that the cut made for my hair. I am definitely looking forward to returning. Anyone who could salvage the disaster zone that was living on my head is worth five stars and repeated visits! Highly recommended. read more

Cut Loose is the best. I didn't use a salon but cut my own for over 40 years. They have a convert, Katy is my personal favorite. They do a great job, make it such a relaxing experience and are in sucha great building. Try the keratene treatment ifyou have any problem with frizz, it is the best and has transformed me. Nobody can believe my hair will look as sleek and straight as it does. I would strongly recomment this for anybody with frizzy issues, well worth the price, time and using special products on hair. I have been to this salon several times, and every time it's better than before. The stylists offer high quality styles without the stuffiness of the overpriced salons in Annapolis. I have been to other salons where alcohol is offered and clients don't feel comfortable enough to accept. This is the opposite at Cut Loose, almost all of the clients have a glass of wine in their hands. My stylist, Katie, and I always have fun and she listens to what I want my hair to look like. After two disappointing haircuts in a row, I have been searching for a new stylist for about 6 months. I just went to Michelle at Cut Loose today and I am in love!!! I didn't have an appointment, but was taken right away. She listened to what I wanted and talked with me about the picture I had brought in. The shampoo/head massage was the best I've ever had. Michelle took her time throughout every part of my experience to make sure I was comfortable and happy. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely be going back!! read more

I have known Jan Wisooker, the owner, since she started cutting my hair at her Beltsville shop 25 years ago. I have been going to her ever since. I even followed her to Mayo/Edgewater when she sold the Beltsville shop because she is worth the drive (which is quite beautiful). The shop is clean, well decorated and very friendly. I don't have a problem with the religious beliefs being there because I don't have to agree or disagree with them to be a customer. If you don't go to this shop it's your loss. read more

I went there today for a trim, just walked in. I loved it! Londa did my hair and she made me feel like I had known her for years. The shampoo tech was a sweetheart. I was really comfortable there and she did an amazing job on my har. I have thick hair and she took the time to completely blow it out. Going back in 2 weeks to get color. I will recommend this salon to all my friends. I really hope they are successful! read more

I've been going to Cut Loose for a couple of years and each cut is consistently good. I got really tired of varying quality at the nationwide chains. The staff at Cut Loose are always friendly and helpful. They have always been accommodating to same day appointments (or even a drop-in) for a men's haircut.
