It was my first time visiting the store because I typically purchase online. In terms of trying on…read moreclothes, shopping in the store is much better. I tried on a few outfits before purchasing anything. Surprisingly, the dressing room was dirty. There were used tissues/napkins on the wooden seat and floor. I almost did not want to touch anything that is the level of uncleanliness that was going on in there. I tried on my outfits and placed what I did not want in the restocking area. Since one of the dresses was too big, I went to the rack to look for the smaller size. I never looked at the dress to inspect it for damages etc., I only looked at the size. I purchased this item for an upcoming vacation, so I did not remove the items from the bags until about three weeks later while I was packing. At that time, I observed that not only was the slit in the back ripped straight up the seam, but the tag appeared crumbled almost like someone had worn and returned it. I tried calling the store, but they do not have a phone. I called Zara's customer service and the mall to determine if they had a direct number. The bottom line is that Zara stores cannot be contacted directly. I knew that the item was still eligible for return, but I still wanted to speak to someone about it. Thankfully, I returned the item without a problem, but not being able to reach someone locally was frustrating. If I purchase in store again, I will be sure to fully inspect all items before purchasing.

Received a large jacket instead of a medium for my online order. Unfortunately, I had to drive 30…read moreminutes with the price of gas to return my item and order it again. I was told that I would have to pay an additional 4.95 to ship the correct size even though that's what I originally order. The manager Murano told me there was NOTHING she could do. So now 4.95 for an order they shipped incorrectly and another 4.95 for the correct size (hopefully) and the price of gas. Beyond irritating. DO a better job ZARA.

The store just opened. This has always been my least favorite location due to the service but today was just horrid.

I can't believe I forgot to review THE COTTAGE?! I was cruising through my reviews from our trip to…read moreAnnapolis mid summer. Annapolis has got a ton of little clothing shops and odds and ends but THE COTTAGE's selection was top notch. They had bracelets, bags, decor, clothes...you name it. I'm from the south and live in Ohio now, but this shop was reminiscent of the shops in the south. Classy and prices reasonable for the quality they carry, plus the staff were so hospitable. Hopefully I'll be stopping in on a regular basis if I get a Mid class 2031.

Bottom Line: A lovely collection of accessories, décor, clothing and gifts…read more The Cottage, a long time staple in Severna Park, has opened a new location in downtown Annapolis in the spot previously occupied by Kokopelli. To differentiate between the two locations they are calling the downtown Annapolis store The Cottage on Main and the Severna Park store The Cottage in The Park. The inventory between the two stores seems very similar. I can almost always find something to buy at this great local, small business. Here are some of my most recent finds: - Avanti greeting cards often featuring funny animals. They are the best! - Keva leather jewelry. It's light and so comfortable to wear. - Farmhouse Fresh lotions and soaps. Great quality and not overbearing scents. - Hobo purses and wallets. Awesome colors, practical designs and yummy leather. - A variety of thoughtful and sweet baby gifts. Lots of pretty prints. - Boho bandeaus. I really like these for working out in the yard. - Rifle Paper Co. stemless drinking glasses. Seems great for anything. - Although not personally a favorite of mine, popular brands like Vera Bradley, Kendra Scott and Swig. Since this location is in downtown Annapolis parking is a consideratoin. On an early weekday morning you might be able to grab a metered spot our front. The Noah Hillman Parking Garage is nearby too. Or you can always drive 15 minutes to the Severna Park location where parking is plentiful. Overall, The Cottage on Main is a great addition to downtown Annapolis.

BLUF: Preppy, higher-end nautical inspired clothing for women…read more The Lucky Knot is a local retailer with a handful of stores in Annapolis, Alexandria and perhaps a few other locations. They have two stores in downtown Annapolis and this review is for the business at 176 Main Street that sells preppy clothing with a touch of nautical. Brands like Gretchen Scott, Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines are sold here and I appreciate having a local option for nicer clothes, especially after Nordstrom went out of business in 2020. The store is always well organized and I do find the pretty displays beckoning me to come in and have a look. In addition to clothing they have accessories - scarves, purses, fashion jewelry, etc. My style isn't generally as preppy as The Lucky Knot but I have gotten a few fun plaid pieces here for the holidays. They key is to take the time to try it on and make sure you love it because the return policy is exchanges only.

They have everything I need for that trip." The boutique sells dresses, tops, bags, jewelry, etc. - everything is nautical and summery and beachy. It's very Annapolis and perfect for summer days and summer trips. Maybe their style isn't for everyone. But if you need clothes and accessories for summer - check it out. Their customer service is also great (very helpful and friendly). They might have just what you need!
