I cannot say enough about my best doctor ever ever in my whole entire life. She is a tremendously…read morecaring, honest and accessible expert. Lisa is an excellent physician and her network of specialists is also really truly top-notch. She never punts on a recommendation and takes whatever you need to ask about seriously but nonetheless remains candid. She also keeps the communication friendly and encourages updates about more mundane things like work and such that give her insight into what's going on and such. Three important comments: 1) I am a guy and feel 110% comfortable with a female primary care physician (actually feel more comfortable with her than with my male doctors of yore); 2) DO NOT be late. Try it some time and see what I mean. You won't be late ever again! 3) Put your cell phone on vibrate or silent before you enter the office or again push those limits and see what happens. Don't worry, she's not a hard-ass; just trying to make sure we all respect each other and help her stay on schedule etc.

You can be honest with her and she will make you feel secure about your decisions, both past and present for your health. I had a physical with her today and left feeling better than when I came in, and there was nothing wrong to begin with. She makes you feel that she honestly cares about YOU personally, and that is a great feeling to get in today's day and age of crappy health care. Five Stars!!

This is going to be an unusual review, but bear with me. :)…read more Three weeks ago, I was helping friends move from San Francisco to Daly City (boo!). We were just getting started to fill the truck with all kinds of furniture and boxes. I had been at my friends' place a zillion times, but still managed to think that I was already on the bottom step of a staircase when I actually wasn't - picture Roadrunner hovering over a canyon and then falling down. That was me. I landed on my right ankle, overstretched it severely and was down for the count. Now, my one lucky bit of the day was that one of the other helpers was Dr. Lori Beltran. She examined my foot, got a bandage, wrapped my foot expertly and sent me home, ordering the RICE treatment for my foot - rest, ice, compression and elevation. She also told me to see a doctor after 72 hours, aka on Tuesday. The days until then, Dr. Beltran actually followed up with me by text messages (!). I'd have totally gone over to follow up with her in person, too, but I'm in the city, not in O-town, so I saw my regular Orthopedist. He was praising her bandaging skills and said that he probably wouldn't be able to wrap my ankle as expertly as Dr. Beltran - and he's been in business even longer than she has. Bottom line: if you're looking for stellar medical service in the East Bay, Dr. Beltran is your one-stop solution.

My previous primary care Physician moved out of State and I was terrified of finding a new doctor…read more My experience with East Bay Physicians hasn't been great. Even when I find a doctor that I like, I've run into issues with rude nurse assistants and front desk staff. When I told my long-term OBGYN my situation, he referred me to Dr. Lori Beltran. I came in for my first appt. with low expectations and was greeted by a nice front desk receptionist. The office is completely electronic, so I filled in all of my information and medical history in no time. My 1st visit was pretty easy, this was more so just an intro/annual check-up. Dr. Beltran even requested all of my recent blood work from my last physician so I didn't have to do more labs. During my visit, she noticed that my sinuses were inflamed and referred me to a great Allergist (apparently I have allergies that I wasn't even aware of). Another perk of the office is they open early. My appt. was at 7am - perfect if you need to get in before work. Overall I had a good experience. Glad to have found a Great Doctor (and office staff) in the East Bay!

It was EXTREMELY unprofessional for Dr. Stephanie Jeske to be laughing while on the phone as the…read moreOn-Call physician for cancer patients. I asked the doctor if I needed to verify my mother's information and she gave me a very negative tone and repeated if I needed help. I told her I didn't appreciate her tone and she hung up on me. Two minutes later, she called back and said do you want help or not? I told her once again that I do need help because this is an emergency but I did not appreciate her tone. She laughed at me and that is when I erupted. My mother is going through stage 3 pancreatic cancer treatment and I have a doctor who works within oncology laughing about the matter. What kind of cruel person does this?

At first Dr. Jeske seems compassionate and caring. She goes through all the motions. She'll hold…read moreyour hand or pat your knee. She'll give an exaggerated sad face when she gives you bad news. She'll walk you to the next room or to chemo. For some people, I am sure this feels really good. The problem is when something goes wrong or if you have different needs. From a medical standpoint, she delayed my surgery by months while I took AIs only. That delay increased my risk of recurrence. I am sure she could now backpedal and claim some BS reason for that, but there is no good excuse. Nor did we have a real discussion about it. I think she assumed I was afraid of surgery. I was not. I wanted to get this done and over asap. With her forced persona, she does not see the individual patient; she sees who she expects you to be. When what you say does not fit her limited view, she disregards it or she'll make fun of you for it. If you have major side effects from chemo, radiation, surgery or meds, her toolbox is almost empty. Again she falls back on her faux compassion, but she does not look for better medical options. If you end up hospitalized after each chemo, don't expect anything beyond her saying how she knows it is hard for you, a hand on your knee, and "don't worry; we'll get through this together." Better doctors evaluate the individual patient, take into account their medical issues, and form a plan. It may not resolve everything, but they try. She does not try. She is exceptionally lazy, taking the easiest treatment path for her without ever looking into options. I passed out in the office due to extremely low blood pressure from dehydration. The nurse congratulated me on my "little nap." When I told the doctor about this, I was called "dramatic" and "ridiculous". She laughed at me. If you have a cancer that responds well to standard treatment and you are able to handle those treatments well, you'll be fine. If you are someone who does not react well to fake sincerity or, if you have major issues and want real answers and options, she is not for you. I am in a support group. We had an assignment to draw our monster. The counselor expected us to draw a vision of our cancer. I realized I was drawing Dr. Jeske. I survived the cancer. She was the monster in my story because of all of the times I was mocked, belittled, and infantilized, the poor quality of care she actually provided, and her continuing to do things that I explicitly asked her to not do.
