You wrote in your response, "This woman is most likely a liberal democrat who hates Trump and hates Fox and in turn wrote this review as a way of canceling me, and trashing me, and feeding her elitist ego." Whew! Your assumption of my political affiliation is completely incorrect as is your comment of who I am (elitist ego?!). Did I talk about your character in my review? No. Sounds like slander to me. My review is about keeping politics out of the workplace (which is an American standard) and the results I had after my last session (see the pictures). After trying and being disillusioned with laser hair removal, I found Fran by googling local electrologists. This was all very new to me, but I was desperate to get the hair removed so I made an appointment immediately. I've been seeing her for over three years, and she's amazing. Yes, it hurts, and yes, there is going to be some soreness/redness after the treatment (especially in the beginning, when the skin is adjusting) but she talked me through everything, answered any questions, even offering calamine or ice after. She was very good with him, making sure to ask how much he wanted to keep. She was good with give advice on cleaning them up but giving him a natural, masculine look. After one 45-minute session with Fran, I have to say that I'm impressed so far. I've had laser treatments on my beard area before, but never electrolysis, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. However, you're in good hands with Fran. First of all, she gives very personal one-on-one customer service. I submitted an information request through her website on a Sunday evening, and she responded within a matter of hours via email and then called me first thing the following morning to get me scheduled for a consultation and to tell me what to expect. Her bedside manner immediately made me feel comfortable when I arrived, and I was amazed at how much work she put in to ensure that I was a good candidate for her service and that I could tolerate the treatments before she even started the time clock. She continually asked if I was ok, if I needed a break, whether the discomfort was too intense, etc. I also had the flexibility of stopping or continuing on at any point during the session so I wasn't rushed. The best thing about her service is that she has rates based on time, not based on the area of the body the work is being performed on. For me, when my dermatologist does my laser treatments, he does my whole beard area in 10 to 15 minutes and the cost is $250 per session because that's the general charge. With Fran, my 45-minute session was only about $50 or so. Everyone's pain threshold tolerance is different, but I was able to do the session without numbing cream. However, I will try to get some before my next visit so that she can move from hair to hair faster. No complaints here. read more

In response to Fran's reply- Maam, my review very clearly stated that I'd had a bad reaction under the care of one other electrologist, hence the request for a test patch. Your argument about the hand being different than the face still doesn't hold water, as I've consulted with others and they said that yes, the areas heal differently, but a test patch on the hand would be fine if it would set me at ease and would help predict an inflammatory skin reaction in the event of an allergic response. I was concerned about being allergic to the particular metal being used in the needles, so the skin in my hand would have freaked out the same way the skin on my face would have. I explained this, but it was like talking to a brick wall. Thank you for reinforcing what I'd said about your inability to listen and comprehend information. I insulted other women? Are we in 8th grade? If I had issues with your profession, there would be at least one other negative yelp review for electrology on my account, which there isn't. My issue is with you and your gross lack of professionalism and blatant lack of common sense. Something to think about- If you'd been doing such a bang up job for 30 years, you might have more than a handful of yelp reviews from brand new accounts, half of which popped up almost immediately after my unfavorable review. Just sayin. And most importantly, did you seriously write that you refused to work with me? I left your office after pointing out that you had no idea what you were doing, and you called me numerous times and sent me texts BEGGING me to come back because you knew how wildly unprofessional and inappropriate your behavior was. My version is easily verifiable with screenshots of your texts. This was a miserable experience on SO many levels, and I can only hope to spare someone else from going through what I did. If a potential client has literally been scarred by the procedure you perform, and they ask you to go a quick patch test on their hand (and not their face) to see if their skin reacts badly, why would you get angry and combative? I'd had a bad reaction to electrolysis the year before at another spa, but didn't know if it was due to the equipment, an allergic reaction to the metal of the needle, the practitioner's negligence, or if my skin just wasn't suited for this. This person's ego was so absurd that despite politely, repeatedly explaining why I wasn't comfortable doing a 60 minute session until I did a quick patch test to ensure that my skin didn't have a violent reaction to her settings/equipment, she pressured me to do a full session and flat out refused to do a test patch on my hand. This would have been inappropriate in general, but it's totally unacceptable when I CLEARLY had stated during our conversation that I needed to do a consult and test patch due to a bad reaction at another practitioners office a year before, and she had agreed for me to come in. Honestly, it was like she did not hear a word I said. I had to repeat myself countless times while she looked at me with a confused and vacant expression, and then repeat myself yet again when she recounted the information incorrectly. It's not a complicated process, but she definitely made it into one through her gross lack of professionalism. When I said that this was clearly not a good fit and that I was going to leave, she had the audacity to tell me that I was being rude. After blatantly not listening to a thing I said- so much so that I had to repeat myself countless times and wasting my morning trekking out to the Kentlands, I'd had enough. I got up to leave, and pointed out that I'd be posting a review about my experience on yelp. Oh, suddenly her tune changed. She called me five times in a row within 60 seconds of me leaving the shop, and sent me a text asking me to please come back, saying that she would do the patch test. I am very happy to be working with Fran. She is very personable, experienced, and while she has many clients I am able to book appointment with her with relative ease and quick responsiveness. To add, I am receiving positive results with her that I do not feel I received with a prior electrolysist. She's great. I used to see her a few years ago for my upper lip and neck. I had TMJ issues so pain sensitive in these areas was something I knew going in. We worked together and tried everything to find some sort of way to do this and having my pain in a manageable level. She works fast and because I was using lidocaine and with a short life after its off your skin, that's so essential. Prices are fair, and she's more than kind. I tried my best with electro but the pain just ended up to much for me, but I know that had nothing to do with her and everything to do with my pain sensitivity. Fran is really great. She takes her time to make sure she's zaps the hair follicle enough to PULL the hair out not pluck. An electrolysis that I've been to in the past (much less expensive) would zap the hair follicle twice and then pluck the hair out instead of increasing the intensity. That's a big no no because plucking the hair defeats the purpose. Fran makes sure the intensity is high enough on the hair follicle that the hair easily slides out. She's more pricey but I'm willing to pay more for great results. also love her friendly demeanor. You'll love her too. read more

I had my first session with Fran on 5/17/17. She was very knowledgeable and explained the process with me. She then zapped the hairs under my chin that I started getting when I turned 30. The random ones that grow fast, thick, and dark or white. I didn't care about normal fuzz. She got the ones I had and it's 5/29/17 and what normally have been back in 4 days has not returned! I will have to wait until the ones that were in the resting phase erupt. I know I'm fortunate to not have a lot of hair and some of her clients have much more to tackle. I went to Fran after a somewhat subpar experience with 2 other electrologists; one who was slow and chatty and another whose technique for some reason was just a little bit too rough for my skin. Because of it, I started looking around and reading reviews and doing more research. Eventually, I found Fran through Yelp! and she did not disappoint. She offered me a test patch during the first session to let me see how the results would look and to see how my sensitive skin would react to her treatment. Needless to say, I had no hesitation of going back time and again. She has superb bedside manners, and has a perspicacity for sensing what will yield the best results with minimal discomfort. She was speedy and efficient, yet gentle and precise. I'm a critical reviewer and as you can see and I rarely give out 5/5 reviews, but I would honestly give Fran a 6/5 if they'd let me. The work she did for me gave me a new-found sense of confidence. Fran is my savior! I have been seeing Fran for my face and neck, and I am beyond happy and satisfied with her work. I have had laser done in the past, on my neck and face (lip, chin, cheeks) and was not happy with my treatment. My mother, who had been seeing Fran at the time, recommended her to me and spoke very highly of her. I began seeing her, and here I am today with amazing results. Just for some background, I am middle Eastern so I do have a greater amount of hair growth than most people and it is also more coarse. Laser did not work ideally for me personally, but electrolysis has proven great results. Fran is good at what she does and going to her was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Ive been a client of Fran since march 2012. I am very pleased with the results and Fran is wonderful!

I have been going to Fran for hair removal for over 10 years! She is thorough, professional, and most importantly the treatment is effective. I've had hair on various areas of my body removed by Fran, and now we are working on my legs. I don't get ingrown hairs anymore and no more razor burn. She's fast, gentle, and easy to talk to; so the sessions are more pleasant than grueling. In addition, what better compliment than continued referrals (again for well over 10 years!)? My mother is an Esthetician and has been waxing for 40+ years. She refers tons of clients to Fran, yes, she gives away her own clients to Fran because she feels they would benefit from her treatment instead of waxing! This is the highest form of a compliment in my opinion. On a side note, I read a previous review on here and I can say from personal experience that my hands took a very long time to heal after treatment. They took longer than any other area and I have had ALL areas treated, (after my legs I will be completely hair free on my body). The hands had scabs that took very long to go away, and therefore I can attest that this is the worst area to use as a gauge for treatment outcome. I am a dentist and if a patient wanted to "test" how their body would react to anesthesia, I would do one type of injection verses another to reduce the amount of pain and the length of time they were numb. Some areas of the mouth are much more sensitive and some areas will stay numb much longer. And if a patient demanded I give them an injection that i didn't recommend, i would not do it. And if they threatened to write a bad review on Yelp because I was trying to do what was best for them and they didn't like my advise, then that is a shame. I'm so grateful for Fran and for permanent hair removal. Oh one more thing, I also did laser hair removal on 2 areas of my body and it didn't work. I wasted a ton of time and money and ended up having the same areas treated by Fran. So maybe laser treatment works for certain hair and skin types, but it did nothing on my olive skin and dark hair. read more
