I recently had a poster and pamphlet framed and was very happy with the results. The process was seamless, I dropped off my two items, paid, and after a week or two, I got a text saying everything was ready. The frames themselves are solid and high quality, even though I went with a very budget friendly option. I've been using Frameworks, happily, for years and have now found myself in a strange situation. Some prints I had framed in were ready for pick up at the end of April and I attempted to get them a bit later, in June and no one was there. I tried again two weeks later and again, no one came to the door and no one has returned my phone calls. I asked the storekeeper at the wine shop next door and he hadn't seen David either and mentioned that the mail person hasn't seen him either. I'm genuinely concerned and am wondering if anyone else has information on what may have happened. read more

The first time we tried to pick up the frame they put a black frame on my mistake instead of a white one, second time we got our pieces delivered and frame had marks with another frame not matched up, 3rd time they all look good but instead of fixing the sides that were not white they put what appears to be white out on the corners because it rubbles off on our hands. The owner David tried to fix the frames each time but it took over 2 months back and forth and a lot of calls to follow up. The price is great but to some degree you get what you pay for unfortunately. read more

Took twice as long as stated to get the picture with the frame back. Plus, I never got a call from the frame store. I had to keep calling and was told "If you don't hear from us that means we do not have it." Glad I kept calling because they did have it! When I finally picked it up, the frame was the wrong color wood - it was supposed to match a previous frame I got at the store. The gentleman said it was due to the discoloration over time of the other frame; however, it was more brown and the original frame was more orange, a whole different color. I did not take it back because, frankly, I do want to make sure I have my picture back! read more

This place deserves NO star. A good business should only require 2 trips - drop off and pickup. We were there after x mas to get a valuable fairly large print framed - worth a grand and about 32"x32". They asked a grand for museum glass and frame. We didn't haggle as we wanted it framed the right way. We were suggested to use a floating technique that turned out disastrous. The print sagged and drooped after hanging for one night. We took the frame back to get it matted (that's one cab ride). They matted the piece in it's original shadowbox frame. Took it home and the print popped out of the matte and edges were slightly bent by the matte (that's second cab ride)! We went back again (third cab ride) and this time they framed it the right way, no shadow box, just glass right on top of the matte to keep it flat so nothing falls out. It didn't make up for the fact that they've DAMAGED our print! We would've complained to BBB but theyve have done 2 good things. After packing and carrying the frame back and forth, the frame was a little damaged around the edges and corners. So we waited another week for them to order a new frame. After this crazy ordeal, they paid for our cab fees. I was going to suggest this place for less expensive prints and smaller projects... but after 6 months, the frame has warped. It left cracks where the vertical and horizontal make 90 degrees. It no longer lays flat on the wall, the sides come out and are bent. Such poor quality frames, wouldn't be surprised if they were made of cheap particle board. We definitely feel like we got ripped off. This wasn't worth a grand to frame. Do NOT use Frameworks Dumbo for museum quality work. They are not masters of the craft. They DO NOT even carry quality frames. read more

I was quite pleased with both the prices and the service that I got when I came into Frameworks to have two fairly large art prints framed. I had some questions about the best way to display the pieces, and the salesman was very knowledgeable and took plenty of time to explain all of the available options--he was definitely not rushed and didn't pressure me at all. It's a very laid-back feeling space and both of the gentlemen that I've worked with were very friendly. I'll definitely be returning. read more

Highly recommended. I needed five fine artworks in varying sizes framed for a benefit auction and the pros at Frameworks did a beautiful, professional job. Caveat Emptor. The owner David is not only an incompetant framer, he is a crook. The first item he framed, the sides of the frame were crooked. How hard is it to make four equal sides? Hard . . . Because it took several weeks to get the framed piece back. He recut the pieces, claiming that another worker mangled the job, and returned the repaired frame to me. Second piece is the horror story: For some inexplicable reason, he cut off the sides of a valauble print. When I questioned him as to why he would do something so unconscionable, he had no answer but said his insurance company would reimburse me. A couple of months later, he produced a check in the amount of the value of the print. However, the check could not be cashed. Chase Bank seemed amused and said that the issuer of the check, Frameworks of Dumbo, would know why the check was declined. The owner of this business is not only not to be trusted with a work of art, he is not to be trusted at all. read more

Great place - professional, talented, incredibly helpful & reasonable. Helped me find the most affordable way to frame two vintage prints. Sometimes I feel like framing stores pressure you into spending too much - I definitely felt quite the opposite here. They were honest, patient, and had a great aesthetic sense. Plus, they completed my framing in one week (much faster than other places I've been to) & they did a beautiful job. Highly recommend! I will be coming back. read more

Didn't have a great experience with this business. Needed a few of pieces framed, got a decent quote, but completion took two and a half weeks longer than expected (in total over a month door-to-door). No one called to inform me of the delays or why there was such a delay. The work itself was lackluster and sloppy. There were chips and cracks in one "new" frame, and the other was mounted crooked. I made this known the the proprietor and the work was fixed slightly and came with a tacit apology. Also had to wait 20 minutes more for this to be done. Overall, I found the work to be both amateurish and unprofessional for a frame store. I don't plan on returning to get anything done here. read more

Great neighborhood framing place. Better prices and quicker turnarounds than the places across the river. I had gotten a poster framed by them, then, several months later, went back to see what could be done about the fact that it had been wrinkling up.They hadn't advised me that it should have been mounted prior to framing, so they fixed it up for me at no additional charge. Now it's hanging back up on my wall looking better than ever, right next to another framed by them. I'll bring all my stuff to these guys. read more
