In the past few months, I've had a multi-page graduation booklet and a large game card printed for a friend's 60th birthday celebration. Before placing the orders, I stopped by the print shop to review paper samples. Mike and Cristian were genuinely helpful in guiding me through the available options. They were knowledgeable, patient, and willing to take the time to answer my questions. Both projects were completed quickly and turned out exactly as I envisioned them. The print quality was crisp and consistent. I consider Replica to be a partner in my projects. I put my work in their hands and know I'll come out looking good!

My experience was fairly brief but satisfying (that's what she said). My husband and I were serviced within 20 minutes. This included consultation on framing and type of glass. The owner has a keen eye for what looks good. We had our own ideas in mind, but he made a few suggestions to enhance the matting colors and frame selection. We weren't the only customers in the store, but he was able to work with each group simultaneously, but not disruptively for either group. Not being in a rush, the estimated ready date of under three weeks from drop off sounded perfect. The frames was ready as scheduled. As others noted, the prices were market standard. Ultimately, my posters came out beautifully framed and I was able to support a local business. Picture perfect.

A fellow photographer friend and I checked out Stockbridge Fine Art Print in Philadelphia recently…read moreto see if we would be interested in using a local fine art printer for our prints instead of continuing to use online printers. We had a great experience! I made the reservation in advance and then we arrived for our appointment. Owner Jeffrey Stockbridge spent TWO HOURS with us, showing us and talking about the different paper samples and then helping us choose which papers to use to print test prints. We had brought some of our pics on USB drives, so he just loaded them up and walked us through some color correcting steps and made suggestions on how the tones might be improved for printing. We learned quite a few things about preparing images for print versus viewing online, and we came home with some gorgeous sample prints. He is incredibly knowledgeable and laid back; he makes suggestions but he was never pushy. Being able to see the prints coming out of the machine, being able to tweak here and there and test on different papers, is really exciting. Now I just need more clients to order large prints. If you are at all thinking of printing locally, you must check out Stockbridge. I will definitely be using him for any and all of my fine art printing.

The owner Jeffrey…read moreStockbridge made a book about the hardships of Kensington and the people that unfortunately are stuck on K&A. "Kensington blues". Definition of exploitation: "Taking advantage of a person, group, or resource for personal, financial, or power-related gain." I understand that their struggle might be an "aesthetic" for some people but it's genuinely just sad. I myself am an artist, but disagree with the making and selling of this book. Charging $60 for the book itself and other forms/packages including a signed copy and a print for $620... and only 10% of it is being donated. That means that Jeff takes home 90%. He makes $54 per book while the thousands of addicts in Kensington split $6 per book. He makes $558 per signed copy and print (that he makes for free in his own print shop) while the THOUSANDS of addicts in Kensington get to split $62. I'll end on this thought. If Jeffrey gave 10% of his $620 bundle to one addict on k&a, that same addict could barely afford to buy ONE of Jeff's $60 books. That's awesome Jeff. Let's shoot for 50% donation... especially because you had the people hand write their own stories for you.

The most recent experience with Seven Arts deserves special recognition. An error in frame ordering delayed the arrival of the frame. However, upon learning of this, the group called me to explain what had happened and apologize for the error. They put a rush on the frame (at their expense) and the delay only ended up being 48 hours. When the project was completed, the owner learned that I was working all day and wouldn't be able to make it to the store to pick up the finished product, so he personally delivered it to me at work. I couldn't be happier with the work this group does and while I'm currently on a pause from purchasing anymore art work, any future pieces will definitely be framed at Seven Arts Framing.

We, of course, were masked. I asked her if she was going to put on her mask and she said she was not. She said it was "emotional" for her and it was also "on principle". We hesitated but were going to go ahead and use her service because we had a $100 gift certificate for framing. However, as I was unfurling our art, she told us, before you unwrap it, you should know that I'm booked until January, and she quickly informed us that there were several other framers in the area that we might prefer to go to. So we left. Our main concern in this encounter is that she refused to wear a mask to protect her customers. We just wanted to let people know to figure this into your decision to patronize this business. If she wasn't wearing a mask, we wonder what other protective behaviors she may also be ignoring.
